It's fair to say that every Rangers fan wants a striker and have expressed that striker is to be a certain Kyle Lafferty

Maybe our creative midfielder should also be his fellow countryman Steve Davis unless Stevie G knows of any better creative midfielder

Let's just pay this €750,000 (£650 000) for OUR Kyle and bring him home.

Well the thing is I'm a fan and I definitely do not want lafferty.

14 Aug 2018 03:20:19
I definitely do not want Lafferty could not get a game for Birmingham in the championship was such a great striker Norwich let him go on a free. £750,000 for a player to sit on the bench no thanks.

Would rather we went for the Bosnians. Lafferty if he comes could bw battling it out with Sadiq for 2nd choice striker.

14 Aug 2018 06:10:20
Also davis not coming nevwr was. Arfield is being used as our creative mid.

Lafferty scored a bunch of times last season - including 4 I think against them - for a mediocre Hearts team. Then a fantastic finish against them again at the weekend. Scored plenty at International level too. And is a Rangers man. Scored some key goals for us first time round and is a much better player now than when he left. What exactly about that doesn't sound good?

14 Aug 2018 07:38:11
Lafferty has had his time at Rangers, and yes he was good. Yes he scored more goals against them than anyone, but I'd still rather Stevie G went for someone else.

I don't think Lafferty is the answer; I think SG can find better players out there. He's proven he can do that so far.

With every new manager of recent times there's been a clamour for old players returning. No. let's move forward.

Knows the league, knows the club, knows how to score, very low cost and scores against celtic. What is the problem. Get him signed.

14 Aug 2018 08:05:18
Would rather we went for 2 Bosnians you have never seen play? Kyle lafferty knows the club and the league. We need depth and lafferty will know he isn't first choice but he will get on with it and work hard.

14 Aug 2018 08:07:43
trd66 Alan McGregor?

14 Aug 2018 08:26:33
trd66 agreed i like lafferty too but i really think we should look further afield for a younger striker so we may get a good few seasons out of them and maybe even a sell on profit hope lafferty if he stays at hearts keeps banging them in against that lot .

14 Aug 2018 08:26:36
Move forward like we did with McGregor?

14 Aug 2018 09:43:07
We have a young striker in el buffalo. Need experience and lafferty has alot. He has won titles with us.

14 Aug 2018 10:15:30
Lafferty or Morelos being discussed a lot if he comes, but on Saturday Laff actually occupied the space currently being filled by Ejaria in a blue jersey. I can’t see why he couldn’t fill that spot for us in a number of games this year? He’s got more to offer than the young Liverpool loanee.

14 Aug 2018 12:12:31
Lafferty is a no brainer. Get him signed now.

14 Aug 2018 12:14:44
We have signed so many new players, we don't need another midfielder. Huge squads inevitably fail. If anyone else comes in other than a striker than a young back up CB would do. We need to realise that we have signed over 10 players already.

14 Aug 2018 12:41:23
Not worth £750k for a guy over 30.

14 Aug 2018 13:05:08
McGregor was the exception and, if I remember correctly, that was pretty much done prior to SG taking over. Simply because he knows our club doesn't make it a good signing. We might not have seen the (proposed) Bosnians, but I'm sure SG, or his scout, will have. Like I said, can we fault his recruitment so far? I also didn't mention the Bosnians specifically - there may be other options.

£750k, while not necessarily a massive fee, is significant for a guy over 30, with little resale value. While a third striker is needed, will Lafferty be prepared to sit on the bench? Will he bump Morelos and Sadiq down the order and if so that, for me, is not good for the longer term. Or will he play him out of position? I don't think so.

I'm aware this is a divisive issue, but I believe at that kind of money it's the wrong choice.

14 Aug 2018 14:32:48
So72, the problem is we don't have a huge squad, we've got about 20 players, not including Wallace and Hodson. That's 18 outfield players for 16 places. Now we've lost Dorrans for at least the rest of this year and God knows the situation with Rossiter, so in central midfield areas we have Jack, McCrorie, Coulibaly, Arfield, Ejaria and maybe Docherty. We need another one in that group. We also need another centre half and a striker to supplement the squad.

14 Aug 2018 21:20:10
I'll take Lafferty back, may only be medium term solution at best but represents value for money and has expired in what is predominantly a young team. Proven to know where the back of the net is against celtic and a more developed player and matured individual than before.

14 Aug 2018 22:33:00
Wish we would hurry up with Lafferty, we all know it’s going to happen and it stops the debate of he’s good enough/ oh no he’s not! It’s inevitable he’ll sign and he will prove to be a worthy squad player!

15 Aug 2018 19:07:25
If it's lafferty steven gerrard wants, then who are we to argue! The gaffer's the man and I trust him no matter who we sign! In Gerrard we trust! #Let's go.
