Frank De Boer once again linked with Rangers manager job in Summer.
Excellent with Ajax in the dutch league. Not so good with Inter or Palace. Thoughts on this bears?

Agree11 Disagree9

08 Apr 2018 14:30:41
If you look at his stints at inter and palace if think it is a bit unfair to judge him on these 85 days at inter and about same time at palace.
Looking at what he done at ajax a feel he should be judged on this as was not aloud enough time at the other clubs.
If giving time and a decent budget for players i feel deboer would be a good choice and he knows what our club is all about would inforce that to the players he brings in and keeps he brought the best out ajax younsters so hopefully he could do same with our own if brought in

08 Apr 2018 15:02:28
Im not a fan of a foreign manager for scottish football. Pedro - apparently spent 7/ 8 million and has only one decent signing - Candias. What would Murty do with 7/ 8 million?

08 Apr 2018 15:12:04
You're correct goalie! We can't gamble with our next managerial appointment! Has to be a manager with an extensive knowledge of british football, if our board do indeed overlook graeme murty! We just cannot afford another experiment going badly wrong!

08 Apr 2018 15:38:01
Our board has to do what is best for the club if they get this appointment wrong then we are in serious trouble can afford more mistakes.
I understand folk don't want a foreign manager but what i would say in deboer favours is he knows about the club it is not like the pedro situion where they plucked him from no where.

Supercoopereleven what manager do you think we could attract who has an extensive knowledge of british football

08 Apr 2018 15:54:56
McCoist new about our club!

08 Apr 2018 16:13:34
Are you seriously comparing mccoist with deboer no comparision there mccoist was in simlair situion as murty throwing in at the deep end at expected to work miracles by the board.
Who do you think should get postion goalie if we do not go with murty.

08 Apr 2018 16:18:45
Goalie agree I don't like the idea of anothe foreign manager. But Frank knows what this club is about surely we could see him as a Rangers man

08 Apr 2018 16:34:32
Craig8688, I really can't see past Murty. he's been given an opportunity to manage Rangers which of course he's not going to knock back. He speaks really well and obviously knows the youth development team, which is a bonus. i'd like to see him with a decent budget because i think he has made some decent loan signings.

08 Apr 2018 16:42:13
McCoist had us 12 clear of Celtic before admin talk began to get serious.

08 Apr 2018 16:52:24
I don’t believe all this rubbish that Deboer know the club he made seventeen appearances for us he was in the door and out again I’ve spent longer queuing for pies than he was at the club, i'm not convinced about Murty either but the big problem is I don’t have a clue who I’d go for but feel we need a man in the Souness mould as we are in the same position now as we were when he arrived he came in cleared the dead wood out and built a team of winners, he had players who would have killed for three points we now have players who hope for three points

08 Apr 2018 16:59:52
I starting to be of the mind that perhaps we should not panic here. If an outstanding candidate is not immediately available what is the harm letting Murty lead the troops start of next season until one comes available or he Murty is doing the job. Thoughts gentlemen

08 Apr 2018 17:00:13
Craig 8688, i must say first and foremost i want murty to be given a chance as our manager beyond this season! Now on to what you asked me! Stevie clarke, steve mcClaren, neil warnock all have extensive knowledge of british football! If we don't give murty the job, then i truly believe that these 3 managers i've mentioned are most definitely gettable!

08 Apr 2018 17:00:35
Coop, You are saying we can’t take a gamble on the next Manager, but surely Murty is a massive gamble with litterly no experience? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

08 Apr 2018 17:15:54
Definatley not murty for me regardless of rest of season results we may still be getting some wins but to many droped points and poor performances even in some of the games we have won we have been poor.

Well regardless of deboer knowing the club or not have a look what he done at ajax when allowed time he will also allow us to attract a better standard of player

08 Apr 2018 17:42:54
Yately i suppose when you take stock every manager is a gamble to an extent mate! I honestly think murty knows the full workings of our club and by gaining experience will only improve to become a good manager IMHO!

08 Apr 2018 17:52:44
Murty team destroyed Dundee a team who Brenda's mob could not beat. Not saying he should get the position permanent even when he lifts the cup. Still would agree with Craig8688 DeBoer would be the man. But if not should let him carry on as caretaker until we get our man

08 Apr 2018 18:35:40
People saying they don’t like the idea of a foreign manager but if someone like van bronckhorst was available I’m sure your opinion would change. We do need a safe pair of hands, a no nonsense manager who knows the British market, someone like Neil Warnock or stevie Clark would be well suited to the Gers. Whoever it is they will need significant investment to overhaul the current lot

08 Apr 2018 18:57:23
You are spot on ronnieR9 who ever gets the job is going have to be giving a lot funds to fix the team
Bronckhorst or deboer would be good choices we need a manager can attract better players and i believe either of these two would be good shout

08 Apr 2018 19:15:40
Who cares if they struggled against them. We don't care about Brendas mob We should be beating Dundee no bother. We got 4 goals with a poor performance. On another day that could have been another defeat. Murty will get the gig full-time. We don't want risking being made to look like fools again by chasing managers who custard pie us.

08 Apr 2018 19:33:24
There is no way De Boer should be considered. I would much prefer to keep Murty, last two jobs he's had have been disasters. The style of football he wants teams to play would not suit who we currently have in our squad, I would take Stevie Clarke if he was available to us.

08 Apr 2018 19:33:59
We don't have the funds to buy descent player's that deboer or bronckhorst could attract. So I would go for Stevie clark . I think he could get more out of what we have. and add a couple good defender's.

08 Apr 2018 20:24:04
We have been linked with every manager that does well in our leuge and if came to it i would pick murty over them all.
Deboer last two jobs didn't go well cause he didn't get time to do a job

Ifeel him or gio this summer would get this chance to mould there team as there will be funds available from player sales season ticket then the share issue so this is the time to trying attract a new manager and players

08 Apr 2018 20:25:41
A lot of our supporters i'm seeing on here, are keen on steve clarke to be our new manager! I mentioned further back there, that steve clarke, steve mcClaren and neil warnock could be gettable! In saying that i honestly don't know if steve clarke would take the job, if he was offered it! Why, because of the furore it would cause with some of our own fans with clarke's leanings to celtic as a boy! I ask myself would clarke want all that and put himself through all that! I honestly don't know!

08 Apr 2018 21:42:10
Warnock would be standout from the the people u mentioned is the only one that has succeed in england and knows the market well he is the only one a would a would have instead of murty or deboer or gio.

Clark didn't do so well down south and at our club he would have to adapt to more attacking role as teams sit in against us so we have to break them down and killie he is mainly defensive.
so would only replace murty
With warnock gio or deboer if not may aswell give murty a chance see if he can improve him self and some of these players i worry bout him beeing able to attract players that can take us up a level tho

08 Apr 2018 21:53:03
Murty will not get the gig full time! Mr king might not be everybody’s cup of tea but he knows the importance of stopping that lot winning ten in a row and keeping Murty would more or less guarantee that that happens!

08 Apr 2018 22:42:58
murty is not the man for me tactically naïve and lost far to many points against teams we should be beating even with current squad.

I agree we need someone smith souness esque, with the lack of candidates out there we may need to think outside the box a bit. we missed the boat on rino guttuso easy to say that now with the job he's doing at milan.
whats the thoughts on mikel arteta? learning from the best at man city, ex player, knows the british game, will know of some fantastic prospects at city and arsenal. it would be a great first job for him and I feel we could get him over the line.

a bit off topic after seeing kyle Bartley head to head with that wee rodent james mclean in the paper today I would love him back at Ibrox ecaxtly the type of player we need.

08 Apr 2018 22:34:28
I doubt he would take it he is a Saltcoats lad and all his family are Celtic minded would he put them through all the rubbish that would follow it no I think he’ll head back south.

08 Apr 2018 23:22:11
Bang on Yately.

There is not a single manager that ticks every single box for what we are looking for, every name linked has pro's and con's. But if we are calling a man who won four titles in Holland a risk, then an U20 coach who has won the square root of nothing and hasn't even had a manager job before is most certainly a risk too.

09 Apr 2018 02:35:03
Can't remember who posted a couple of days ago, he mentioned Rafa Benitaz. Has taken Newcastle to 10th in the EPL after a poor start, managed top clubs in England, so knows the British game. If new investment comes in, break the bank to get a top class manager in place.

09 Apr 2018 11:10:12
There is absolutely NO chance Benitez will manage Rangers. Whoever posted that has a glue problem

09 Apr 2018 18:49:20
Craig8688, Clarke got WBA 8th place in his only full season down there, beating Brenda's Liverpool home and away in the process, and won everything as Mourinho's assistant at Chelsea (1st stint), so not sure how you can say he wasn't a success down there. It was more than Walter ever achieved down there, speaking of Walter he played a very defensive game too but got results, much as Clarke does. As Coops points out he may not be interested, but the board will have sounded him out by now. I'd take Warnock as my next pick. For me Gio and FDB are exciting but more risky and would take more time to implement their style.
