According to this morning's daily mail, its reporting that rangers are very close, to signing brighton winger, jamie murphy, for around 1million quid! Like i've said on here before, murphy would be a fantastic signing for us and great value with the protracted fee and his level of ability and experience! Not to mention that he's still only 28 years old, with his peak years ahead of him! It would be a terrific signing for us, in every way! He's a massive bluenose into the bargain! I really hope we get jamie murphy! This guy when he was at motherwell, still wanted to sign for us,
his boyhood idols, even when were in division 3,but rangers couldn't afford it at the time!

A much better player that Jamie Walker, and to think Hearts wanted about the same fee for him on the last year of his contract, joke! Glad we didn't give in to them, don't rate him anyways.

(Btw, it was because Rangers had a transfer embargo for 2 seasons, not because we couldn't afford him, we couldn't sign anybody tied down to a club, only free transfers) .

If true, and the news that Preston are coming back to the table with a 7 figure bid for Windass this would be good business for all. Still think we need a number 10 though and if the reports re Naismith are true (he’s going to Killie for next to no money) I’m shocked we wouldn’t see value in bringing him back.

Someone or more most be leaving for us to afford a million fee. As I've informed this site on many occasions we need £7.2m to get us to summer of 2019 and the only director that is putting up the money is Dave King can't actually see him finding another million for JM while he looking for £11m plus to get the takeover panel off his back

Steven naismith has had his time in the sun with rangers! Don't want him back anywhere near glasgow rangers again! We must move on from him, let him go to kilmarnock! He wasn't slow in leaving us and saying what he said in his presser with whittaker, regarding the club he was supposed to care deeply about! He made his bed! After all our club was brilliant with him through 2 serious cruciate injuries! Short memories that guy!

Spot on supercoops, my sentiments exactly!

Jamie Murphy was a done deal in early Dec apparently - no doubt will be official in due course.

02 Jan 2018 12:39:56
If it is true and windass is making way for murphy for the same fee then it is dispointing should be commanding at least 1.5 for windass if not keep him we are short on strikers as it is.

02 Jan 2018 13:37:48
Don't rate murphy

02 Jan 2018 13:42:03
I agree we should be squeezing between 1.5-2million quid from any english club, wishing to buy josh windass! I personally would sell windass for the amount i stated and jamie murphy is far better player and possible replacement, for windass!

02 Jan 2018 15:28:48
Don't see Naismith going to Killie.
2 cruciate injuries and going to play every other week on their pitch?

02 Jan 2018 15:53:58
I think Naismith would be brilliant with Morelos IF he could stay fit

02 Jan 2018 19:44:33
I would go for McLean and walker now on pre-contracts.

02 Jan 2018 20:25:53
Mcc the knife! A wee question for you mate, nothing personal, just a question! Who's place in the team do you think jamie walker would take mate? Daniel candeias as far as i'm concerned is better than walker and if we are lucky enough to be able to sign jamie murphy, then he's streets ahead of walker! Most of the time i've seen jamie walker playing, i haven't been impressed with him in the slightest! From my own personal view, i wouldn't want rangers to sign him!

Don’t think we can have enough quality players, would rather have them in our ranks and that would be up to them to prove they are better.

02 Jan 2018 23:40:41
Walker and McLean may not take anyone's place in the team but they would definitely be good squad players. And without them the other teams would be weakened. Win win in my eyes.

03 Jan 2018 00:20:22
I think walker and Maclean would be great squad players and it keeps first team players on their toes. Competition for places is how a successful team is run.

03 Jan 2018 00:38:19
We should sign Murphy and Naismith and at £1m for the pair would represent a great piece of business. The boy Naismith has expressed his views, fully explained his position and owes us nothing. He would be a star for us and would walk into the current team.

03 Jan 2018 00:41:15
How come Naismith gets it so hard yet The Cardigan himself wished the "new club" all the success gets away with it.

03 Jan 2018 00:59:42
If you can believe Sky Sports we are nowhere near reaching agreement on a fee for Murphy, the two clubs are miles apart on his valuation, sound familiar? . The players fly out on Saturday to Florida let's pray we have a good signing or two before the team jets out.

03 Jan 2018 08:29:58
Never had to ask someone for forgivness lads? Well done on a pefect life. Naismith is a quality player and if he scored the winner at Ibrox against Celtic youd forgive him fast enough. he's better than anything we have now. saying no to him if free/ cheap would be stubborn.

03 Jan 2018 09:01:43
Windass taking up the CAM position where Kranjcars was could be a good move offloading Dalcio and Aaron Nemane would also be good

03 Jan 2018 09:33:09

There are some things that you can say that you just can’t forgive. Naismith didn’t need to hold a press conference and declare Rangers dead. Disgraceful thing to say especially from someone who was supposed to suppprt the club. Can you imagine the abuse Lennon would have got if he had said that?

03 Jan 2018 14:23:36
Not sure where u get your info from supercoop regarding Jamie Murphy being a massive bluenose as u couldn't be further from the truth. I personally know Jamie through his ex girlfriend when he was at motherwell and has shown deep hatred towards our club. Just hope he has grown up since then as I think he would be a great signing.
