I heard it's because his number 2 wouldn't came to Rangers, he's a Timmy.

07 Dec 2017 18:07:26
Very good news imo

07 Dec 2017 18:12:22
Unbelievable. What a disgrace. How many times are this board going to make us look inept? What a f#@#&ing shambles. Ridiculous. Did we offer him a 50k transfer budget? Thank god we have Murts. If we had an option (we probably don't) it would be King out for me

07 Dec 2017 18:14:18
Good. Give the job to Murty!

07 Dec 2017 18:14:24
He has done nothing impressive in his managerial career, we dodged a bullet, only thing is we should never have approached him in the first place!

07 Dec 2017 18:15:17
Nothings ever straight forward for Rangers. If Mcinnes really wanted the move he could have picked a new number 2 from a cast of hundreds.

Who do we turn to now Bears?

No real crisis as Murty is doing a fine job. 3 points on Saturday now the priority and I hope everyone remembers Mcinnes decision the next time he comes to ibrox.

07 Dec 2017 18:18:19
Forget all this we are a bigger club etc, Mcinnes has probably looked at the whole situation and decided we are too much of a basket case to risk taking

07 Dec 2017 18:27:25
He is a mug, never deserved the opportunity and he’ll be lucky to finish above Hibs in 3rd IMO. Murty remains in caretaker and if results stay good then 1 year rolling contract for the man!

No Europe for Aberdeen any time soon!

If he is happy to stay at a club with no ambition other than to try and hold on to second place win a trophy every 4-5 years knowing the fans are happy as long as he does ok then he is not what we want good luck to him let’s set our sights on a manager who wants to manage the greatest club in the world and has ambition

07 Dec 2017 18:38:22
Riffy we offered him nothing as he didn't want to speak to us

07 Dec 2017 18:42:34
Good point fifepl. Rangers never even spoke to the man.

07 Dec 2017 19:02:21
It’s the director of football nonsense that is going to put managers off coming to the club. Mark Allen saying that the manager gets to pick the team and tactics but if he wants to buy a player and Mark Allen feels that there is a player in the academy who in 18 months time will be in the first team then that’s the route we’ll go down. A very romantic outlook from him but he’s not the manager and shouldn’t be deciding who goes into the first team, the manager does that.

07 Dec 2017 19:06:48
Doesn't make it any less a s@#t show.

07 Dec 2017 20:14:45
DM made his bed. I wanted him to take the job he was definitely the safest option, all this he hasn’t achieved anything was utter pish. He took Aberdeen from relegation fights to the second best team in the country. He demonstrated a great knowledge of the league and an eye for a decent player on the cheap. Attributes we definitely could have done with, that said his decision shows a real lack of ambition, he clearly didn’t have the bottle for it. To turn us down in our hour of need is unforgivable. His name should never even be mentioned in the same sentence as our great club ever again. F**k DM and the sheep. Let’s hope there’s some big names left on the short list (after 6 weeks there should be) and he regrets this day his entire life.

07 Dec 2017 22:21:41
He only achieved second place due to the fact there was no rangers, hibs and hearts in the league, leaving Aberdeen who had the second biggest budget in the league coming second, a known bottler of big games. They scraped second last year due to the fact we were still finding out feet in the league plus going through a transitional period gaining a new manager, he's not achieved anything exceptional. There is no strong candidates or there at the moment.

07 Dec 2017 22:41:51
I'd go for Neil McCann now.

07 Dec 2017 23:14:37
In the past five games versus Gers and the sheep (with Warbs and Pedro in charge) we beat them 4 times with goals of 11 and 4.

How the hell does that make him our first choice?

We dodged a massive bullet here.

07 Dec 2017 23:58:48
Its maybe a blessing in disguise. Tommy Wright? Michael O'Neill, McLeish? I personally think they'd all do better than McInnes. I'd really like de Boer, don't think we could afford him though.

08 Dec 2017 00:01:53
McInnes is used to having complete control of the club he manages. I suspect he decided he could not work with a Director of Football.

08 Dec 2017 00:11:33
Rangers really need to show the fans they mean business, talk of Davies, Mcleish, McCann are not the answer.
To have any chance of closing the gap we need to do what celtic did by making a statement of intent by bringing in a quality manager who has managed at a big club and knows what we are all about but that won’t happen as this board are so incompetent we will end up with some third rate manager.
I have never felt so down as I am tonight, this board really are clueless

08 Dec 2017 09:14:25
Wasn’t 100% sure he was the answer and certainly didn’t want docherty but he has taken Aberdeen as far as they can go as far as I’m concerned. Where’s your ambition Del?

08 Dec 2017 09:16:10
Bang on Ronnie. He is safe at Aberdeen (just now anyway) why risk it and end up like pedro

08 Dec 2017 09:17:25
Dm knows he's not a high profile manager and realised the job was to big for him
