RonnieR9 can you explain that comment? McLean knows the Scottish game inside out. He's better than what we have at the moment. As excited as I am about Pena and the other signings how do we know that they will hit the ground running and settle immediately?

not saying he won't improve the team, just think that there are better players out there in the £1-£1.5m bracket with more quality. dorrans for one is a better player.

Ronnie, your thinking is way off. Just because a player doesn't come from a team that perform better than Celtic doesn't mean they won't improve us. Caniggia, Novo, Boyd, McCann, the lost goes on of players that played for other SPL teams and they never made us any weaker

Your trying to say he isn't better than Halliday, Forrester, Windass etc.? I would say we've had far more players from outwith teams in Scotland that have been duds compared to players who know the league

I'd like dorrans. I also believe he'll sign soon. Can't see Pedro not pushing deal through for an extra few hundred grand, that is who he obviously wants. McLean is also good (not our 1st choice though)

I would put McLean in the bracket between better than what we had last year and not good enough to close gap on Ceptic. Dorrans is in the bracket of good enough to match and catch them and has a far better pedigree and ability than Kenny McLean who is good but not great
