New coaching roles is Neil McCann and Kenny Miller. Great stuff.

Agree2 Disagree21

Would 100% rule out Neil McCann.

The main reason being, like most ex Rangers players/ "legends", he's criticised the managerial appointment.

Wouldn't be surprised or disappointed to see someone like John Brown get the job, as the manager's "local assistant" . No idea what he thinks of the appointment of Caixinha, but it's obvious Rangers runs through the man's veins.

Most seem to be against Barry Ferguson, and I really don't think Pedro Caixinha is likely to go down the pundit, gossip column, tv analyst route like most are anticipating.

That's what you'd get with Rae, Ferguson, McCann etc.

Lee mcculloch for me to be assistant

14 Mar 2017 09:38:53
think it will be kenny miller. no worse choice than him tbh.
and murty should be promoted to first team coach as well, the players have responded brilliantly to him

not sure about barry or mcculloch.

14 Mar 2017 10:15:27
A would like to see kenny play another year but if this is his last season let him bow oot with player of the year award

14 Mar 2017 10:49:11
Warburton just signed for manager of Nottingham forest

14 Mar 2017 11:29:58
With Barry Ferguson it's not so much about his being a former player but more about his personality and his drive that he showed as a player. Yes he's a young manager with very little experience but what he lacks in experience he makes up for in commitment. And having an experienced well travelled manager guiding him can only make him and us better. Mccan I think has been a pundit for to long, McCulloch, just don't see it. Kenny Miller though, same drive and commitment as Ferguson but even less management experience.

14 Mar 2017 12:30:27
Alex Rae would be my choice.

14 Mar 2017 13:30:02
I like the idea of Ferguson and Miller in roles under Caixinha

14 Mar 2017 14:20:49
I have been a critic over the last couple of years but in my view there is only one truely deserving candidate and that's Kenny Miller.
I believe the club and the new coach should consider the views of the supporters and hopefully through the likes of club 1872 the supporters can have a voice - it also helps protect the club from direct criticism should things not go as planned with our new setup!

14 Mar 2017 14:45:19
I understood that the "local" appointee was a person that would have knowledge of the Scottish game, the Rangers set up and be able to advise on all local matters ------ so as far as I understand coaching will have no bearing on the matter whatsoever
Surely Pedro will bring in his own coaching team ---

14 Mar 2017 14:54:37
Only person fit to be D. O. F at rangers is walter smith

14 Mar 2017 17:46:21
Murty should be promoted to work with the first team.
Clarification on the local appointee is needed- if it's knowledge of the Scottish game - what about Terry Butcher?

14 Mar 2017 15:26:34
Lee McCulloch? Are you having a laugh. Do you not recall him having a laugh when rangers trooped of the park at half time having been humiliated by celtic 2 years ago. McCulloch was having a laugh and Joke with Brown and Co. he was an average player who was never a regular until admin and he was a poor captain. Ferguson was outstanding as player and captain.

14 Mar 2017 16:30:52
I tend to agree with Thorn76, as i also think john (bomber) brown would be a very good choice, to work beside caixinha, as his local assistant at rangers! Bomber certainly knows what glasgow rangers are about, he has rangers running through his veins!

15 Mar 2017 07:19:07
Keep Kenny playing and make Murty the assistant

15 Mar 2017 07:21:08
Not necessarily a bad thing if McCann spoke out against his appointment. At least then Pedro would know he's not just getting a yes man.

15 Mar 2017 08:55:13
Miller coaching roll somewere yes but not assistant no experience etc were as mcculloch fergie mccann have atleast some just sèen a name i never thought off big terry butcher great shout knows the scottish game played in it an done massive job for ict he could be the guy caxinha needs

15 Mar 2017 12:44:20
Disagree with taking Murty away from the development squad. The experience and respect he has gained from his short time as caretaker manager will prove invaluable and will make our youth team a more attractive place to be for players like Billy Gilmour.

15 mar 2017 23:49:14
barry for me is a pundit but its all about the rangers.
and when its not good its because we played badly which is what we need we need people to shout at players because it means soo much to them we need sum1 that's a supporter of the club first and 4most and that's what u get with barry he would be a good local assistant .

15 Mar 2017 23:37:30
John Brown or Terry Butcher well well well, how our standards have really dropped, time to let the head rule and not the heart

15 Mar 2017 23:26:42
Kaymer. Walter Smith? Are you having a laugh. Great manager but he has had his time and don't forget thanks to Walter we ended up with Ally the money grabber. Plus he bailed out as Chairman when we really needed him. He chise not to spill the beans as he would have been in breach if his confidentiality clause in his payoff
