Matt Crooks has joined Scunthorpe United on loan until the end of the season

Don't understand this one. The boy hasn't had a chance to prove his worth to the team, not to mention we need a defensive mid. We're playing Halliday out of position there and I can't think of any cover for him.

Hope he does well though.

Your not the only one? It's pretty obv its crooks himself that asked to go out on loan, I just hope he gets lots of games and comes back in the summer time ready for pre season, I wish him well, but warbs seen him every day so he knows him more than I did.

is it just a coincidence that we want there goalkeeper surley we should save the wages and promote a youth goalkeeper and we should have gave crooks a chance Warburton has made some baffling decisions in the transfer market and not playing players he buys

12 Jan 2017 19:02:28
Think he is away to build up his fitness, missed pre season etc

12 Jan 2017 19:31:39
Think it's for the best. The lads confidence is rock bottom after the Hearts game when I think he was thrown under a bus. The important goal from the next 12 matches is to secure 2nd place and go on a cup run. The 2 new lads will likely play in all games and with Windass fit and hopefully Rossiter returning we should be well covered. The objective for Crooks should be to get game time in and return stronger and confident to fight for a place in the team next season.

I personaly don't think we will see Crooks play for Rangers again, he says he has been fit for two months so why has he not had a chance in his best position because Halliday has been rotten in DM for a while- also not fair on Halliday, playing him out of position for such a while, Warbs decisions can be strange at times and even with the two new midfield players coming in we still look really lightweight in midfield, no one to stamp their authority on the game. I will not be surprised to see the clear out continue with MOH next to go although he won't be missed, I've watched him every home game since he came and overall he has not been impressive.

I have to believe that this is down to the fact that Crooks was injured, missed the preseason and consequently hasn't really had the time to get fully match fit. That has to be the only reason, surely, since it is simply illogical for Warburton to prefer Halliday, (who has been pretty hopeless all season), playing out of position when he has a player that has played in that role.

We have to hope that this will get Crooks back to full fitness so that he and a fit Rossiter can be our holding / defensive midfield pairing and we can then either try Halliday in his own position, (if he can still remember what that is)!

Warbs will find a way to play Halliday no matter what because if yous can remember after the 5-1 game he said he knew he had made a mistake by leaving Halliday on the bench as he knows how much Rangers mean to him and he thought it was important to have guys like that playing

13 Jan 2017 11:10:45
He's not very good . Looking poor playing for the under 20s which is full of 16 and 17 year olds. Can't pass or control the ball very well and no presence for a boy his size. Before you ask yes I do watch all the 20s games as my because plays for them.

13 Jan 2017 13:45:52
He hasn't even played that much for the under 20s

13 Jan 2017 14:36:26
it could be more like we had to ign the 2 rather than wi ndass a if it was only fitness he could have been put on crash course t murray park to equal pre season

13 Jan 2017 16:11:32
i think signing the boy was a good idea and we are just unlucky it didn't work out I doubt he will be back.
only seen him once and he didn't impress and obviously hasn't been impressing in training or he would have got given his chance

13 Jan 2017 19:40:30
I doubt that Crooks has been fully match fit so far this season and I hope that he is back a better player and fully fit for the start of next season. With Crooks and Rossiter fully fit then we have two better players than Halliday in the Holding role and Halliday can prove himself in the actual position.

This failure to find a proper Holding Midfield player of quality has been one of Warburton's major failings!

Cannot think of another player so few of us have actually seen play yet who almost everyone rates so highly. Really hope the boy gets his confidence back and returns focused, fit and ready for Europa qualifiers.
