Heard from the same source this afternoon that told me the same last week that the striker rangers are very close to signing is the nottingham forest striker assombalonga, he tells me the signing will be done this week, warbs worked with assombalonga at watford, what a signing that would be for us although I do think its long odds that it'll happen, it would be an outstanding signing if he's over his bad injury, my own first choice would still be soriano of red bull salzburg, what a goalscoring machine he is, we can only dream and pray fellow bears!

Norwich ready to bid £7 million for him according to Nottigham post.

11 Jul 2016 16:08:55
That would be a good one, but is he not to expensive, how are we going afford that warbs15th?
Not saying not true, but I can't see us affording it!

I would very much doubt assombalonga with go with Norwich bidding £7 Million. Don't think we have £700k in the bank never mind that. MW has already said it is someone the press has not mentioned so never much doubt the sources i. e the person writing the rumour would know. let's just hope he is young enough and can score goals. !

Before people make up all these far fetched signings why not do a quick Google search and see if the guy is available and at what price there is no way we are signing a 7m rated striker not for the foreseeable future anyway.

Forest signed him for nearly £8M including add-ons with £5M up front.

As you say yourself. Long odds of that one coming off when it's not likely we are even going to pay £1M for a player this season?

Bound to be someone in the Million to Two Million bracket.

MW said "It's not simple sometimes. They want £2 million, you are prepared to pay half a million and you try to meet somewhere in the middle".

Maybe suggesting we'll be willing to pay around £1,750,000 at the most on a striker.

Hahaha! I see maths isn't you're strong point thorn76.

11 Jul 2016 19:59:47
So the EXACT middle would be about £1,250,000 then.

Guessing that's what we'll be willing to pay for a striker.

After all this speculating, imagine if our proven goalscorer leading the line next year going for 55 is one of Zamora, Vaughan, or Stewart. That'd be something to really laugh about.

He said that as an example it don't meen the striker we are looking and is actually 2m and we are only willing to pay 500grand. I don't think them comments is any indication on how much we are willing to spend.
