Been hearing that Warbs will be off back down south. He's apparently struggling being apart from his wife and the unsavoury events at Hampden have compounded his desire to leave Glasgow. This is from someone who works for a prominent Glasgow newspaper. I'm hoping it proves to be false but thought I'd share what I was told.

Agree2 Disagree24

No way Barton would've signed if the gaffer was planning on leaving. Warbs is here for the season at least.

25 May 2016 16:16:39
I hope this isn't true.

25 May 2016 16:27:32
Tam Burns lol obviously a celtic fan trying to unsettle us Rangers fans with that ridiculous comment.

25 May 2016 16:31:22
No way is he leaving. all that work to get to spl then go? absoult nonsense. he will be abroad tying a deal or 2 up then go for a 2 week break.

25 May 2016 16:52:21
He signed a three year contract didn't he? I'm sure he is a man of his word and not a part timer.

25 May 2016 16:55:48
It was probably spiers.

25 May 2016 17:10:19
Someone called Tam Burns makes such a statement and we have to believe him! I am sure he realises that the unsavoury events that he witnessed on Saturday were not down to Rangers fans and less we have the misfortune of playing Hibs in the League Cup we will not have the problem of such thuggery at Ibrox except when we play Celtic. Rodgers will inevitably dislike the bile that spews from the stands at Celtic Park every second week so maybe he will only las a year and then he will roll out of Celtic and back to England well ahead of Warburton!

25 May 2016 17:12:42
The incident at Hampden will have disgusted him no doubt, and he would consider any decent offer, but let's face it, who is he going to go to that gives a bigger challenge? Big Club? Bigger Support? Bigger SORE HEED lol!?

The man is loyal to the core, he will see out his time here and if nothing else on the go might even stay longer if he gets the chance to test him self in Europe, and with BR over the road, a good battle will be on the cards between both clubs, he will want that fight and that challenge and will not want to be beaten, so I think we can rest assure that he will be about for a while yet!

25 May 2016 17:20:14
That's utter bull, warbs n weir are building a squad, please tell me how he could tempt players to sign long term then he leaves, pure whopper.

25 May 2016 17:44:26
Mark Warburton has got another 2 years contract, he's not going anywhere, Tam Burns yer info is defo wrong mate.

25 May 2016 17:05:21
Absolutely not stuz. Been on this site for years mate. The person who relayed this info reckons his heart hasn't been in it for a while, hence our poor form recently. I'll be gutted if true as we're onto a good thing with the man. The crux of it is, his wife is unhappy and its making him unhappy. Just what I was told.

{Ed033's Note - tam burns would appear to be a Rangers fan that has been on this site for years, albeit using different usernames over time.

25 May 2016 19:09:41
its an hour away on a plane to london and the guy could prob charter a private flight anytime!

a lot of footballers stay in the east/ west coast and commute in that time so i can't see a problem that way

plus listen to bartons interview when he call's him gaffer, i'm sure he wouldn't have come if the boss said ''hey i can't handle it here and i'm off so thanks for joining''

25 May 2016 19:15:57
He done an interview on itv at the start of May where he wad asked about the prospects of moving on and spoke about the fact that at Brentford he was around 4 years into a "big project" and had to leave and that now he's started another big project here and from the cheeky smile on his face as he answered, the impression I got from him is that he sees himself here for the long haul. No doubt the cup final will have had a negative impact but personally I really can't see much truth in this rumour.

25 May 2016 19:21:11
Tam burns told us all the other day joey Barton had signed for burnley.

25 May 2016 19:49:06
A mate in a prominent Glasgow paper. must be true.

25 May 2016 20:27:24
Is it not possible that he is spending time with his wife on holiday whilst he can before pre season starts he has most likely handed his transfer target in to whom ever deals with that and left them to it so the targets are in upon his return, just a theory though .

25 May 2016 20:41:47
He might be trying to push King about freeing some funds, as promised, because a bad season next year could see his career going backwards quickly.
Maybe King isn't as forthcoming as he promised.

25 May 2016 22:12:50
Memaself, King needs to free up whatever is needed. We all saw the need to have a top quality centre back, a top quality striker and another quality midfield player. It is not just Warburton that needs this there is a few hundred thousand Rangers fans that want to see improved quality of players.

26 May 2016 00:10:02
I'm sure I saw something the other day about King ready to discuss a contract extension with MW.

25 May 2016 22:51:37
Davie Weir was in the paper less than a week ago saying both him and MW are the most committed management team he knows. He also said not having your family with you (he's in the same boat) shows your more committed to the club and not vice versa.
This story is complete drivel, I'm sorry 'tam burns' but it's just made up, maybe not by you but by somebody. Mcparland isn't going to be going out of his way to attract players for MW if his intention is to leave right now.

26 May 2016 06:40:05
There's no smoke without fire I'm afraid. Does any of you know warburton personally, how does anyone know he's not had his head turned by other clubs, whilst seeing promises from King not happen.
don't you find it strange the manager wasn't there when a new signing arrives, I do.

26 May 2016 09:20:50
So Warbs has agreed a contract extension, doubled his much merited money and flown off on holiday with his family!
So much for the merchants of doom!
King, board, management, backroom staff are all in it together and are to be congratulated. A handful more signings in the key areas of the pitch and we are well set for next season.
Onwards and upwards to 55.

25 May 2016 19:24:32
Cheers Ed. Most will remember me as gkk. A disagreement with another poster led me to use some colourful language at odds with my easy going nature and I was regretably unable to continue under said moniker. I now go by my real name that happens to clash with that of a Celtic great.
