I really hope this is a roumer we need better defenders than him, he's had his day, why we get associated with Rangers rejects all the time is beyond me, the only one I'd have is Steven Davis.

I wouldn't go as far to say he was a reject he only got sold to help us out the financial difficulty that we where in a was a great player for us.
that being said I do agree he has had his day and is nowhere near the defender he was when he left us descent back up for tav though.
I doubt this will ever happen and hope its a non starter!

I agree we need better than what Hutton can offer . I would take davis, aluko and weiss back they would all do a job for us . we need to move forward and create new legends and I think that is what is about to happen. keep up the good work warbs I back you decision making 100â„…. do we have fat mike by the short and curlies? fingers crossed.

Surely warbs knows better full backs than Alan hutton, I know hutton is in Glasgow because he was seen in silverburn yesterday but hopefully he is up visiting family as he would be easily wanting between 8-12 grand a week. Darijo Srna i would rather take a look at him if he still hasn't signed a new deal.33 but a far better defender than hutton.

If Hutton could get back to a similar place as he was before he left us then I'd love him back, if he's in the place he has been since going to the EPL then. no, just no.

Hutton was named the RB in the under 21 players of the world to watch, just before we sold him for 9m. A reject he is not. He may not be playing his best football, but who was at Villa.

He's not out of contract at all- he was interviewed last week and said he was looking forward to bounce back with villa first time around. This really is silly season.

I'm not saying we should sign him, but if memory serves Hutton turned down 2 contracts from spurs at rediculas wages. He wanted to stay but was asked to leave for financial reasons.

If Hutton came back I'm supposinghe would be on at least 10k prob nearer 15k a week! Now I know we need cover and players competing but if Tavs keeps his place and remember he's still developing then **** having someone sitting on the bench on those wages Tavs ain't on that and all the lad has to do is add to his defensive game, every team would love to have a full/ wing back like Tavs although I'm sure Warbs will rotate a hell of a lot more nxt season.

He stays just outside Kilmarnock, villas season is over, it doesn't mean he's joining rangers! "Steve Davis would do a job". Unfortunately we would have no chance of Steve Davis, if he left Southampton it would be to a bigger club than Southampton.

Unbelievable, totally beyond belief, now we are so arrogant we don't want a fantastic player, he never left during the collapse., he was sold by Murray to try to balance the books, now some believe this was Hutton fault? You actually couldn't make this up? If Rangers can get Allan Hutton then we should carry him back to Ibrox, now I can only believe most of the posters are young, or don't realize what a £9mill player is?
But to say we don't want him is unbelievable, Scotland seems to want him, so did Spurs, villa, 2 of the biggest clubs in the UK, have we became so arrogant we don't understand this?

Hutts is a good right WB, could do us well for a few years and would add value to the team for sure, and let's not forget he loves the Gers, he's one of us, always has, so go easy on a fellow blue nose. The issue is money, he must have been clearing £20k + maybe? We can't pay that these days.
The other issue is Tav, but that's a good headache to have.
I do agree that Hutts would an expensive player for us to potentially sit on the bench, for now anyway, but I think we have ambitions of having quality sat on the bench, (rotating) if we don't we simply don't move forward as a team, so let's make it happen now and not sit on our hands!
Can't wait till Sat! !

@TomTom - you what? Hutton was over-achieving in his last season, has a bit of pace but literally nothing else and now that's going too. I'd take him as back upon £1/ 2k a week at best. Tav is a far better player that Hutton ever has been!

tomtom I really don't know what u have been smoking but wow just wow he was a 9 million pound player when he left but he is a shadow of his former self and is never worth that now if u have actually been watching football like the rest of us u would know the boy is shit now and spurs and villa aren't two of the biggest clubs in the uk spurs just makes the top ten in terms of size so go back to smoking whatever it is u are smoking and chill the f*ck out man!
