This is a wee piece of news i heard about finance possibly getting better at our club. To ibrox noise and all fellow bears out there here's what i've heard. As we all know, rangers are going over to germany, in january, to play RB leipzig in a friendly. Here's what i've been told by a friend of mine who's from scotland and is an sv hamburg season ticket holder. He has it on good authority, from a prominent person who has a voice within sv hamburg, that rangers WILL be replacing 32Red (deal runs out at the end of the season) as their shirt sponsors, with RED BULL who own leipzig. They will according to him become our new shirt sponsors, taking over from 32Red at the end of this season. He also tells me that RED BULL looking to put money into rangers, with the possibility of an ibrox stand being sponsored and having the RED BULL name emblazoned on it. He also went on to tell me that RED BULL want to actually buy a football club in britain, with rangers and an unnamed english club at the top of their list. This potentially, could be tremendous news for us financially! He assures me there is a lot of talk about this in germany. Well fellow bears and ibrox noise, what's your take on this info i've given you? Must admit it could be brilliant news for us, if it comes to fruition! Has anyone else heard anything regarding this?

Please post ed.

09 Nov 2016 18:29:47
Oh the fun we could have wi that lol.

09 Nov 2016 18:30:59
Would prefer a tennents.

09 Nov 2016 20:06:15
Look at all the teams red bull own, they change the name of their clubs.

09 Nov 2016 21:01:23
Red Bull are destroying football. Speak to any German fan about Red Bull and they'll tell you all you need to know.

09 Nov 2016 20:56:27
Pure Bull Rangers 😁. Oh wait. that's the current team. 😉 actually, it sounds like a possibility.

09 Nov 2016 21:37:35
Not sure how much real interest here but certainly exploratory discussions could be taking place. We are an attractive brand with significant value and will be of interest to a wide range of number of commercial companies. Looking forward AGM and hearing what Board have to say about the financial plan.

09 Nov 2016 21:38:14
Yeah i'd be ok with a stand being sponsored but that would be it they could not alter the name eh?

09 Nov 2016 21:38:18
Soons like a load o old bull, lol.

10 Nov 2016 07:39:37
What stand and if we do think what the men who have stands named after them gave to the club would some energy drink company come close I doubt it we need people who love the club to invest not a faceless corporation.

10 Nov 2016 13:41:54
Well red bull does give you wings.

10 Nov 2016 16:31:54
"Soul for sale - willing to listen to any and all offers. "

Why not just, I dunno, cut your cloth accordingly and build the foundations of a solid business model and work from there?

10 Nov 2016 22:14:47
This morning on talksport rumours linking red bull with Swindon before sherwood appointed director. Dunno if that English club they looking at?

10 Nov 2016 23:20:11
Aye poetic patient Dermot Desmond is an excellent business strategy.

11 Nov 2016 00:10:36
If you actually think that's the same thing, and are not trying to point score, then there really is no hope for you.

11 Nov 2016 06:01:32
Point score 😂. Says the man who started his comment with "Soul for sale. " Try taking a look in the mirror. You probably know more about Rangers business model than I do. Most Celtic fans seem to be either tax lawyers or business experts these days. The last I checked though Rangers seem to be hamstrung by an unscrupulous charlatan who is currently facing the wrath of the British government. He's a popular guy in the east end of Glasgow though, regardless of how he treats his workers in Derby.

11 Nov 2016 10:29:43
That wasn't point scoring, that was an interpretation of not only this latest "hope", but the countless number of such over the last four years that Rangers fans have moved towards. And you need only do a touch of research to find out all about RB and what they are doing to football but here's the abridged version: it's the football equivalent of selling your soul.

You're correct. I probably do know more about your business model because you, like many other Rangers fans, would rather compare yourself to Celtic, and in the face of any (warranted) advice or criticism, deflect and seek some sort of false equivalency. Case in point, in each reply you've managed to make it about Celtic. And that's ok, but if/ when the financial rumblings get increasingly louder, and it looks like it could be administration (or worse), you'll rest easy knowing you skipped any sort of inward interrogation, and instead tried your hardest to point score and make this about another team.

12 Nov 2016 05:26:40
Surely when a Celtic fan comes on to have a dig at Rangers it's only fair to make the comparison? Financial rumblings? Is this just what you lot live for? Desperate to see us go out of business? I'm sure another set of t-shirts are on the way for you mugs to waste your money on 😂.

12 Nov 2016 14:00:47
A. It wasn't a dig, it was a suggestion.

B. My being a Celtic fan has nothing to do with the financial problems facing your club - or my (or any other persons) to see them. If that's all you choose to focus on, then as I said above, you're as big a part of the club's problems as the charlatans you curse.

C. It doesn't need to be about whatabouterry and false equivalence - but if that is what gets you through the day, so be it.

Two questions for the ed's or anyone in the know please. Firstly I heard Waghorn wants away? Any truth we are looking at a midfielder called Lansbury. Just 2 things I overheard at a sportsmans dinner at the weekend.

{Ed039's Note - Bristol City are interested in Waghorn and I don't think we could afford the fee for Henri Lansbury)

09 Nov 2016 12:55:08
Is Lansbury not a free next summer?

{Ed039's Note - He is, I assumed we were talking about the coming transfer window and not the one after)

09 Nov 2016 14:07:02
I would look at stevie Mallan and Jason cummings in January both goal threats wouldn't break the bank. henri lansbury would be a great signing surprised he still at forest and not the premier league though.

09 Nov 2016 14:10:53
heard waggy has fell out with warburton.

09 Nov 2016 15:07:29
Henri Lansbury would be a cracking signing, would also like to see Ali Crawford at Rangers think he will be superb in the future.

09 Nov 2016 16:35:55
don't know Lansbury but not Cummings I don't think he is what we need.
I can't see us signing anyone that isn't on a free this transfer window due to running at a loss this season.
but if we are to get people in I mean I know I've not seen him in a while but bougy can't be worse than what we have I said it in the summer we get him for free and won't cost a lot on wages he wants to be here and is much better that Kiernan and not as old as clint hill so I think he is worth a shot.
would also like kyle bartley back at rangers he was a good solid no nonsense defender. (plus he went right through scott brown) I don't think he would cost a lot the last I heard he was at leeds I think!

09 Nov 2016 17:47:18
I think kiernan get a hard ride tbh, if we are signing anyone that plays with Leeds it's got to pontius jansson (sp)! also the young boy souttar from hearts and James Jones from Kilmarnock are going to be stars imo.

09 Nov 2016 17:57:02
More in need of Angela Lansbury right now me thinks! Get to the bottom of this Ashley fiasco.

10 Nov 2016 03:25:48
the club is running low on cash and your solution is someone who made a tackle ona rival player, lol great idea for progression, and lovely mindset you have in life.

anyway when we get second, how many rounds do we we have to qualify for euro? i have heard 3? thts 6 games think of the fatigue that might set in, hopefully its just the two rounds.
