Heard we may look to get powerful 18 year old Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi on loan from Liverpool. He is officially on loan until 30 June to Frankfurt. He has scored 2 in 6 caps for Nigeria and could be decent squad player. Stats of 1 goal in 16 games in Bundesliga 2 hardly fill me with confidence and I'd personally prefer Ryan Hardie as 4th choice Striker behind Wags, Miller and 1 main striker we will probably sign in the window.

07 Jun 2016 20:05:30
Anyone have any sort of ideas who the 2 strikers are who are in talks with the club. They haven't been rumoured in the media.

That means no Adi, no Bradshaw and no Stewart etc.

If it's the same pool we got Waghorn from, could it be someone from the top of the English 1st division.

Few of the goalscorers in that league have been linked with Winall, Sharp, Bradshaw, Armstrong etc.

How about Lee Gregory of Millwall.

08 Jun 2016 06:44:53
If we're going to be buying players in the £400,000-£500,000 range then Lee Gregory (Millwall) or Jay Simpson (Layton Orient) could be decent buys. Simpson can play CF, RW, LW, so might be the better option. Any thoughts guys.

08 Jun 2016 08:57:49
Robin van persie.

07 Jun 2016 17:43:30
Heard from a few people over the past week that rangers have shown a interest in Sam Winnall and a Bradley Dack. Don't know if there's any truth in this and in all honesty couldn't really tell you anything about these players apart from what you see on Google such as age etc. As players I know absolutely nothing about them.

07 Jun 2016 19:31:14
Would take Bradley Dack of Gillingham, looks by all account a decent player, 29 appearances last season with a return of 13 goals, I did meantion him in one of my previous post, however I have a feeling we have enough midfielders and may concentrate our efforts elsewhere.

07 Jun 2016 20:56:57
Thorn76,

Maybe Zlatan's decided at the last minute to ditch the Dodgers of Soap eh 😁😁.

08 Jun 2016 06:52:26
Dack is a midfielder so that would be a no no, might prefer Nicky Ajose, better goal average than Sam Winall.

07 Jun 2016 17:02:27
Dom ball close to signing on perm. And 2 strikers who papers haven't mentioned more in the next few days.

07 Jun 2016 17:43:28
Read that earlier on follow follow.

07 Jun 2016 18:07:53
To be fair, it doesn't take inside knowledge to make a post like that. If we're not looking at Dom ball and 2 strikers I'd be very surprised.

07 Jun 2016 19:16:31
Hope it's true though, he could be a real star with the right management and enough game time. Only problem is he'll probably have a cheap (ish) buy back clause to Spurs.
As for the Strikers I've heard rumours (don't know how true right enough) that the level of Striker will be of the same stature as Barton and will suprise a few people. Here's hoping. Squads shaping up nicely.

07 Jun 2016 22:13:03
The striker is where I think we will spend a fee. Looking at out of contract players in the EPL and EC their are few to choose from that you would say are the same stature as Barton, by stature I'd say a recognisable name that people know who they are, the only two who scream that are Danny Graham and Chamack. Before its commented on I'm not comparing the ability of those two with Barton I'm only stating that they are recognised names.

Throwing names in using a value of £1-2million (again not saying that is what we have but is definitely the ceiling) with a proven record last season they are few to choose fromy but I'd chuck in. Naki Wells, Tom Bradshaw, Sam Winnall, Adam Armstrong, Chris Wood, Kemar Roofe, Kane Hemmings, Jason Cummings, Jeremy Perbet, Jonathan Soriano, Lars Veldwijk, Wout Weghorst.

These are a players who scored goals last season in the 2nd and 3rd tier of England and Scotland as well as some scorers from teams in leagues around Europe under the elite. I'm not saying we are linked to all of these guys I'm merely saying with the available cash it's the sort of level we will be looking at.

07 Jun 2016 16:41:36
Looks like rangers have been linked to Newcastle's Steven taylor.

07 Jun 2016 17:28:14
Broxy

Where have you been hiding mate? He was up yesterday for talks.

07 Jun 2016 13:51:01
Opening offer of around £600k for Gregg stewart to be submitted next few days! Only passing on what I have been told.

07 Jun 2016 14:24:12
Not good enough if we have ambitions for next season!

07 Jun 2016 15:04:26
Who is that?

07 Jun 2016 15:05:14
I know we're tore them apart in cup game at Ibrox but I actually thought he looked decent that day and his goal scoring record is good in spl.

07 Jun 2016 14:11:47
I Hope so, be a great signing for us.

07 Jun 2016 14:54:36
Not a chance we will bid 600 grand when we made an opening offer off about 150 grand last year for scott allan never going to offer that for a dundee player.

07 Jun 2016 15:29:39
His goal scoring record is pish, more of a creative player we have that position well covered, he is decent player but we don't need that position filled.

07 Jun 2016 15:40:30
600K don't be ridiculous. Maybe 150k but I can't even see that.

07 Jun 2016 15:51:43
just not good enough, even for cover I don't think he would get a game.

07 Jun 2016 20:15:31
Yeah we do have that position covered but he's one for the future! Hope the wee man runs his contract down and we pick him up for nothing, I agree we don't need him immediately but the boy can play and would be a good bit of business. Heard he's a bluenose too so yeah play the waiting game Warbs.

07 Jun 2016 20:13:30
Not good enough had a wee laugh when a read he worth more than 600k more like 150k.

07 Jun 2016 21:15:33
I think the guy has potential and would be a decent signing obviously £600k is far too much I'd guess he would be available for around £200k plus sell on clause if rumour is true and we are bidding for him.

07 Jun 2016 23:14:35
Agree with most on this one not good enuff.

07 Jun 2016 10:51:01
Rangers are looking at bringing in Plymouth Argyle captain Curtis Nelson. The central defender, 23, is out of contract. (Daily Star)

The Ibrox club are set to swoop for Costan Rican Esteban Alvarado, 27, from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor. (Scottish Sun)

07 Jun 2016 10:58:11
don't know much about these guys is esteban a good keeper but its good we are looking at a cb that's where we are seriously lacking.

07 Jun 2016 12:36:03
He is a very good keeper in my opinion. Best known for booting a fan that came in the field to attack him at AZ and getting a red card which resulted in the whole team walking off in protest.

07 Jun 2016 13:27:49
He will come in handy for next time we play hibs lol.

07 Jun 2016 08:21:00
Ashley resigns from Rangers Retail.

07 Jun 2016 09:09:07
Appointed a lackey in his place. Nothing changed afaik.

07 Jun 2016 10:03:40
Surprise surprise, sneaky person, I just hope the football league see through his attempt.

07 Jun 2016 08:52:05
Hopefully he will sell his shares to us. I'm only looking at the positives here but Green, Whyte and Ashley have only United us and made us stronger. We will own our club the future is looking good. Can't wait to buy the kits when we are allowed, hopefully won't be long now. It won't just be the blue sea of Ibrox that's for sure.

07 Jun 2016 13:30:07
its been too long since I was able to go get a new strip I hope the fat rat realises its not worth his time as we won't buy any strip under his shady contract

and to all the fans that do yous are the reason the fat rat isn't giving up yous are the ones hurting our club.

07 Jun 2016 13:33:59
He's getting ripped apart right now at the House of Commons. Rangers will be all over this with our own problems with his companies. His PR is crumbling at will continue to do so with his grilling at the HofC.

07 Jun 2016 13:50:59
can the house of commons do anything though? i'm not politically minded lol!

07 Jun 2016 14:41:32
No they can't, and as for the comment to suggest rangers supporters are hurting their club buying a shirt is nonsense.

Theres many plausable reasons to buy a shirt, the most namely being how do you tell your son/ daughter you can't get a top because of some retail agreement that many people don't understand themselves.

Side note, you do realise we get charged if there's not a certain amount bought?

07 Jun 2016 16:28:43
Yeh but are we paying that if we don't sell enough? i doubt it! You are spot on Super Ally reference the kids. It's a difficult situation all round. However the publicity Ashley is receiving at the moment may help Rangers if they build upon that pressure.

07 Jun 2016 15:59:37
where did u hear that rubbish super ally dave king and co wouldn't be telling us to boycott the buying of football strips if we would get charged for them!

on the other plausible reason I have a 8 year old boy that even when he was seven could understand that it is wrong to support the fat rat by buying his tops.

I for one will be sticking to what most rangers fans and the boards wishes are to boycott sports direct and the sale of our tops which we basically don't get any money for.

ill do as my club wishes and not buy another rangers top until we have a fairer deal wether it be and agreement with the fat rat or hopefully with some1 else entirely.

07 Jun 2016 17:35:33
Does this mean king can get a new sponsorship and get new kits out for us to buy or is this just a smoke screen to save his fat Archibald.

07 Jun 2016 20:22:45
Super ally our board are telling us not to buy th tops don't think they would say that if it hurts our club and u must be a weak person if you're children are telling you what to do. my boy is 11 and he doesn't want 1 until everything sorted. he wears my old tops with pride.

07 Jun 2016 20:54:41
Ashley was def not "getting ripped apart" at the select Committee. Quite the reverse.

07 Jun 2016 07:55:59
It's not the official Villa feed. Just a fan page.

07 Jun 2016 00:23:15
Has anyone else seen the rumour on the official aston villa twitter feed regarding rangers monitoring gabby agbonlahor. Hope to god this iant true.

07 Jun 2016 02:31:15
Wouldn't mind agbonlahor at Ibrox.

07 Jun 2016 06:05:14
Think he would light up Scottish football but at 3 million price tag might be out of our range. Maybe MW can persuade DK to release more funds, then we may just have a chance of getting him.

07 Jun 2016 06:32:21
£3 million? Somebody has lost their marbles!

07 Jun 2016 07:53:25
It wasnt the official AV twitter feed it was just some fan page probably a load of mince.

07 Jun 2016 08:11:25
He'll be on huge wages, he's going to cost a large fee, his attitude has been questionable for a couple of years and he's got a 1 in 4 strike rate. I know that's in the EPL but I think we can do better for less money.

07 Jun 2016 09:11:52
Think if we were going to spend £3m i ould rather we got 2 or 3 players for that rather than agbonlahor.

07 Jun 2016 09:35:30
Agbonlahor of 8 years ago fair enough but he's nowhere near that player now, he looks so far out of shape that he's pretty much unrecognisable as a player, don't want him anywhere near us.

07 Jun 2016 09:41:55
Warburton is too smart to go for a player with his attitude.

07 Jun 2016 10:16:23
Most of the players we get are players who have lost there way . Trust the man he hasn't let us down so far.

07 Jun 2016 10:26:34
RFCinfinity 3 million is what is on his transmarket profile. DK stated him and the other directors would have 5 million for summer transfers, what's been spent so far £250,000 for Rositier. If you own a Mini but want a Bentley it's going to cost you more.
Get ma drift!

07 Jun 2016 10:34:31
I would rather pay a million for Tom Bradshaw as Agbonlahor.

07 Jun 2016 10:41:50
I do trust MW and whoever he signs I will back 100% however, if I had a choice to spend such a sum of money on a striker Agbonlahor wouldn't make it into my top 5000 I'm afraid.

Its irrelevant anyway as the rumour is based on a rumour found in a Villa supporters page, will never happen.

07 Jun 2016 11:06:43
I hope this isn't true don't want has beens and mw has stated that he is looking at our future and will sign players that will have sell on value!

I know we have signed barton but he didn't cost anything to spend 3 million on a player way past his prime and with no sell on value would be against our signing policy I think.

this for me is a load of sh*t!

07 Jun 2016 14:49:03
Scotman, where do you get your figures from? Can't find any director mentioning £5m for summer transfers. I believe the manager has an additional £3.8m for transfer fees, wages, agent fees etc. He's already spent almost half of that on the Barton and Rossiter deals. Let's be realistic here.
