The Turkish transfer window is still open, maybe ally will consider having a look

Believable2 Unbelievable14

It's only open for selling to them dufus! We don't have anyone left to sell!

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously mate, I'll provide the straws and you can clutch. Nothing personal, everybody in same boat as you, but hello! Jay

Agree0 Disagree0

Sad to say it, but we couldnae afford a Turkish kebab the noo. never mind a Turkish player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye he could take a 'donner' doon tae the buroo. Switch the lights out at Ibrox after you leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good.....they are getting paid 30k per week there, by teams you've not even heard of.....boydy was on 40k, and i cannae even spell his team

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't sign anyone Turkish league can still buy cos they are open ours is closed therefore no one will sign

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats for Turkish teams to buy players and not to buy players from Turkish teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

F@ck sake, we have no money, when will it sink in?

Agree0 Disagree0

It may be open ours is shut! We couldnt sign anyone when it was open yet when its shut we have absolute idiots like you that come out with comments like that!

Arghhhhh give me strength!

Agree0 Disagree0

McCoist has signed enough turkeys already!

any truth in the rumour rangers owe 1m for lafferty after he's played 100 games?

Believable12 Unbelievable4

No doubt, but honestly cant see it
craigy+babybear

Agree0 Disagree0

It is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it is 100 percent true

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure it's true and if it is i can see Lafferty picking up a more "serious" injury and being out for the season as it doesn't look like Whyte The S***e will be prepared to give Burnley Ł1M

Press release at ibrox tomorrow.allys chucked it.greenock ger...whyte must go.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

No he hasnt dont lie

Agree0 Disagree0

David murray is to blame for this mess. whyte doesnt care about the club. ally hands are tied! jelly went for 5.5 m, thought whyte wanted 8m. FUBAR

Agree0 Disagree0

This story is everywhere to be fair dont want ally to go absolute legend but dont think he has a football brain lets be honest going out of europe 2 nk maribor and malmo out c.i.s cup to falkirk way a full fit squad get someone way a managing brain and a pedigree please

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he did as whyte is destroying everything we love about Rangers everthing we have left to love that is. And a hope before he left a hope told whyte exactly were to shuv it... Always a bear watp

Agree0 Disagree0

Even worse....thot Whyte had knocked back 8m

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 23:21:38
Ally, Whyte, and Smith to hold news conference tomorrow at some point, fear bad news but no idea!

kushedgod

Believable10 Unbelievable7

If you think that going into administration will be bad news, you must be nuts....at this moment, that's exactly what the club needs, so that we can re-group, start again and put all this behind us.....Listen! the banks had to start again, thats business....we will re-emerge..bigger..stronger and better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Going into administration is easy coming out of it is incredibly difficult and could take years. Don't make the mistake of thinking the debt will be wiped out in administration. HMRC could levy charges and interest for years to come if RFC merely are in administration

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 23:06:22
Goin in2 administration on Friday, watch this space!

PTE

Believable17 Unbelievable11

Really? Will be surprised if news lasts until Friday! Esp with all the eager, hungry, mercenary journalists out there champing at the bit for a story, a headline, a little boost of ego! At last, some realisation from Gers fans, rangers are in financial crisis. Whyte got at least something right, don't believe the press and what you read every day....it's all keech! Let's face it nobody knows what is going on! And Keith Jackson shame on you! J

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course we are, does anyone think we are not.....we need to....simples!

Reliable source: Motherwell did receive a call from Rangers enquiring about Jamie Murphy after he turned down a move to Blackpool for family reasons.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

And what was the context of the call sherlock.... It obviously wasnt about signing !

Agree0 Disagree0

Ł22 Whyte offered.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye he is married to my cuz and she is due a baby soon and already have a wee one

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard the offer was 10p + 2 gb bottles.

Agree0 Disagree0

My friend plays for motherwell(full-back, say no more) and he says that rangers have never been in touch with jamie murphy yet he would welcome a move to ibrox

Agree0 Disagree0

They wanted to know what he had for lunch :|

He turned down Blackpool because his girlfriend didn't want to move. Rangers having already been linked didn't make an earlier move because Blackpool and Motherwell had agreed a fee.
When talks broke down Rangers expressed a will to sign Murphy, speaking to both the club and player. That's as much as I know.

what is going on with the extra security stories thats going around everywhere ed have you heard anything or can you confirm this?? also ssn whyte and ally away home at 8 2nyt he had no intention of getting someone in.... were in a mess now for the championship i feel sorry for ally hes just no getting a chance.. {Ed001's Note - there is no real way to confirm those stories, the problem is that they can often be self-fulfilling prophecies. People hear there is something likely to happen, so they go to have a look and see what is going on and end up causing something to happen.}

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Any truth in the rumour that there is to be another 7 page exclusive in the Daily Record again tomorrow?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 22:52:11
whyte leaves at 8 o'clock according to sky so no more deals how shocking

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Bad bad times ahead shocking behaviour from our so called owner, im embarrassed and ashamed like the rest of my fellow bears on how the club is being run but plz dont post c**p just for the sake of it, who's the cameroon lad we got on trial?

{Ed033's Note - Cameroon trialist is midfielder Matthew Mbuta

Agree0 Disagree0

Time to vent some anger towards MR CHAIRMAN lets hunt the crook out of town

just on TV ,no replacment ,no signing ,out rage ,would not blame mcoist if he walks ,whyte is going to put our club under 1 way or another very dark days

I would be happy with O'Conner or sandaza now we can't go on with Healy

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Healy is cuming gd now

Agree0 Disagree0

Your statement sums up the mess we are in when you say that you would welcome mediocre players like sandaza and o'connor to rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mediocre players like O'Connor and Sandaza? How many goals have they scored, and how many has Healy scored?

And THEY'RE mediocre? LMAO!
Reminder that Healy is an international....

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 22:45:49
Ally should leave with his head held high . No manager could work under this idiot who is destroying the little that David Murray left us with . Murray should be ashamed with how he has left us ..

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Murray's legacy has been tarnished what with selling to this person and his london cronies, but with his dodgy tax dealings....a maverick who has been cavalier with our institution, that is Glasgow Rangers.....disaster for the fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that's it.no signings.official.hope mr white has got medical insurance.here's one for yeez.where's the 4 years worth or season ticket money ticketus loaned us went to?

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip !

Agree0 Disagree0

This wuld be the same Murray who provided te funds for 9 in a row and was acclaimed a hero ? Or is there another Ive not heard of ?

Agree0 Disagree0

This is an absolute disgrace! We weren't expecting a top class replacement for jelavic by any means but to get nothing at all is embarrassing. So disappointed but suppose we shouldn't have expected any better. I understand we are skint but we let 6 players leave! Surely we could've got even a cheap striker in. Didn't particularly want sandaza and definitely didn't want O'Connor but they would've been better than nothing. Sorry to rant coz you's probably don't need it but surely you can see where I'm coming from. What's your thoughts ed? Maybe a free transfer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Now, correct me if I am wrong but isnt the team that is there the champions, with 6-7 players already added and you are on bleating about Jelavic leaving. Face facts your club is losing 10million a year at the moment on wages etc and you expect the opwner just to keep giving Ally money to buy more...more what exactly...his signings havent exactly been inspiring have they, in fact other than the 2 defenders none of them are getting a game, it's still Walter's team. The issue is not panic replacement but planning and making sure your targets are right which obviously hasnt been done. I think Ally will walk sooner rather than later but he must take some of the blame for the current state of the squad, he had the summer to buy and buy he did, very poorly mind but he did buy and the owner backed him. Based on his last performance would I give him more money, not a chance. Rangers need to do what Celtic have done and get themselves in a prudent financial footing by only spending what they earn. Celtic have made a profit ion the last 5 years form players bought and sold, Rangers have lost 13million and its only getting worse. Rangers have injuries but all teams have them and your squad should be able to cope with it but becasue of poor buying you cannot. Maybe the scouting staff should be changed, get rid of Bomber Brown,he was tripe as a player and obviously tripe as a scout and stop believing all the ex pats in Oz who tell you how good players are!!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 22:44:19
ed .... is there any info on rangers possibly signing anoyone at all? {Ed003's Note - Nothing }

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Sky sports news has said rangers business is done,

jelavic will not replaced, as whyte left ibrox at about 8pm tonight,

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky Sports just reported that there will be no signings made by Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers closed no business getting done 2 nite absult disgrace put the green ribbons on the title nw

Agree0 Disagree0

Ssn business done , no players , shocking!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sky sports say no deals getting done absolute joke

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew this would happen!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical eds on this page never have a clue or info on any signings ridiculous {Ed001's Note - or perhaps it is just because there are none!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

None, nada, zilch .......... Will these people shouting about signing this one that one and the other now get it through their heads ....... THERE IS NO MONEY, NO AMBITION AND NO CHANCE !!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 22:19:00
Anyone heard anything about extra security being brought into Ibrox for the next few days? Heard a rumour from my mate that's happening, admin mentioned again.

Also, after Whyte again mentioned today we have operating costs of over £10m over our income why do people still expect us to pay a fee for anyone? i'm as down as the rest of us over the current situation but the league title is the least of our worries over the next 6 months.

Believable18 Unbelievable4

Well said,i will be glad when this is all over sort the club out first then sort out signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

And wheres the money coming from for this?

Agree0 Disagree0

We should be atleast expect a loan for someone 4 players went of the wage bill in the last 2 days plus how did we manage to offer money for holt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guy we arnt geting anyone

Agree0 Disagree0

We made a bid of 500,000 for Holt no chance of Norwich accepting that

Agree0 Disagree0

Just drove past ibrox , main door shutters down few barriers / railers resting next to it ? is that to keep angry fans from smashing that wee mr tight ? wait til last day then sell our best forward when our other two forwards are out injured ? someone posted this at the start of the transfer window regards jela being sold at last min to give the board excuses to say "oh sorry we tried to sign replacement but hey it closed at 11pm fck off mr craig W ive had enough of yer bullverto

Agree0 Disagree0

What gets me is that he is sayin we are 10 mill over budget when we only have bout 18 players on decent wages. The Mhanky mob have over 3 full teams worth of players and must be payin them a fair amount. Surely they must be bleedin out more money than us so its beyond me why they arent in as much trouble as us

Agree0 Disagree0

They have learned their lesson and are run in a far more open way, unlike Murray and now Whyte do.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 22:16:52
My mate worls in.the chipper just down from ibrox and saw a white audi tt pull up outside ibrox. saw a 6'2 football player get out the car, looked like oconnor

Agree0 Disagree0

Well this is clearly rubbish as they go to murray park no ibrox so ur mates a nugget

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL a 6'2" footballer? Did he measure him? Surely he would have known who it was LOL I'm also pretty sure its night time at ibrox which means you can't see from a distance LOL, some people on here really do make me laugh!!

Agree0 Disagree0

That was probably a balliff

Agree0 Disagree0

Wots to say it were a footballer

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure Des O'Connor is not 6'2"

Agree0 Disagree0

O'connor doesn't drive a tt. best get down to specsavers

Sky Sports say its Celtic in for Leon Best

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope celtic have tried to get leon best from newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

And drop wages to about 4k do not think so!

Agree0 Disagree0

Watchin the african cup and daniel cousin was playing for his country. The commentators were sayin he is without a club. I know he f***ed off n left us before but he cud do a job if we had wages to pay him

Agree0 Disagree0

Was celtic trying to get leon best, but he has rejected them

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are in for Leon Best

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Leon best from toon army its in the Newcastle gazzete and he's going to scumtic till end of season... We wont be signing anybody... Ed u know anything? {Ed003's Note - Celtic want a loan but newcastle seem to want a permanent deal}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes not a strikers hes a lft winger

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Celtic they r in for best from newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

Leon best to Celtic that would be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Noaw it was Celtic loan Leon best

Ally McCoist failed to persuade Craig Whyte to release funds for a deadline day swoop on the manager's transfer targets. McCoist brought a copy of the club's injury list in order to emphasise his point that the club needs more players but Whyte decided against spending any money in a meeting on Deadline Day. McCoist left the stadium enraged, refusing to speak to journalists and drove away. To be honest, I would not blame McCoist for walking away from the club right now.

Believable21 Unbelievable6

Allys face as he left ibrox says it all, Would not be shocked if he left. CW thinks he is doing the right thing for the gers but without a winning team where's the investment going to come from.

Ally McCoist failed to convince Rangers chairman Craig Whyte to release funds to sanction deadline day additions to his squad.

A meeting was held between the pair at Ibrox on Tuesday evening, with McCoist arriving with a copy of the club's injury list to emphasise his need for fresh blood.

Striker Nikica Jelavic has been sold to Everton in a deal worth £5m plus add-ons, representing the loss of a player who has scored 17 goals for the club this season.

McCoist had identified Norwich City striker Grant Holt as a replacement for the Croatian, and earlier in the day had attempted to convince Whyte to table a £2m bid for his number one signing target.

Rangers instead tabled a cut-price officer for the Englishman, which was instantly rebuffed.

McCoist had other possible targets - St Johnstone's Francisco Sandaza, Rapid Vienna's Hamdi Salihi and Falkirk's Kallum Higginbottom.

But the club hierarchy decided not to make a last minute move for any of the trio, with McCoist leaving Ibrox ashen-faced following his unsuccessful meeting.
Cammy1250

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Did u see mccoist in the video he wasnt a happy man an who can blame him this regeme needs two be brought two a halt

Agree0 Disagree0

Well white not giving ally Mccoist money tonight links in with govan rumors today, that the police have been ordred to ibrox tomorrow morning to help begin the administration and provent trouble when the news breaks

Agree0 Disagree0

Shocking innit

Agree0 Disagree0

Sickening, ally will walk

Agree0 Disagree0

Then why bring in all these trialists ,if no money ,were being humped without lube here

Agree0 Disagree0

Only way forward now is to refuse to buy season tickets still go and support the team but dont give this crook your money in advance very very pissed off bear

Agree0 Disagree0

It's safe to say that the Amy title aspirations are well and truly fecked.

We need a right back pronto, Whittakers been poor at best this season, and Broadfoot.....well he's just Broadfoot.

Surely the outgoing players Weir,Jela,McMillan,Fleck,Ortiz and now Hutton have freed up in the region of 40k minimum, that would have been enough to bring in two good loan players

Agree0 Disagree0

100% correct window will close no one in FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you for the same word for word report from the STV news site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally walk away a legend. And leave that little rat whyte to face the wrath of the fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did he have the spl trophy with him cammy ? if so then he could save us all the hassle, and take it straight to celtic park in person

james rfc 1980

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this more septic drivel I dont see any sources...

Agree0 Disagree0

This was posted on Rangers media partner STV's website

Agree0 Disagree0

Did anyone read jim traynors article in today's record? It makes for interesting reading.

The airport Bear ... Two bits of gossip talking to a football agent working on behalf of grant holt ... His words were that it ain't finished with him as west ham are getting the boy from Bristol city and have dropped all interest in grant holt leaving the door open ! And Craig whyte passed through tonight going down south so even so don't expect any deals to be done tonight ... Looking like we'll be bring players that are unattached ...

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Whyte's brain is unattached.

Rapid Vienna are getting £1.5 million, Everton have only paid £2.5 million(the money they got for bilyaletdinov) they will pay another £2.5 million if they finnish in the top have of the table and they will pay the next £3 million if he plays a certain amount of games by January 2013

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Dont talk mince its an undisclosed fee meaning no one knows! So before you claim ur cats grannys aunty is best pals with the greenkeeper at goodison park. STOP TALKIN MINCE AND GO TO BED CHILD!

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of p1sh, are you the agent that brockered the deal, Vienna owed nothing, can nobody see that Whyte is asset stripping the club? This is how he makes his money

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be his agent

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not accurate the reason we doing the deal with them is were getting 5 upfront the west ham wanted to do 3 mil then 2 mil in summer and 2 if they went up the situation is that bad we need more cash im beginning to think we could actualy go to the wall

Agree0 Disagree0

Load of rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

How would you think you know this another wee septic johhnie posing as a rangers fan...lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate this is b*ll the fee is 2.5mill with 3mill still to pay this does not add up to 8million. Fs. And we wont touch a penny of it straight in to whytes back pocket.

Agree0 Disagree0

5.5m plus add ons, no fee to Rapid they got full 4.5million with no sell on clauses

jelavic transfer confirmed approx 2 hours before deadline?? if ally doesnt get a replacement in i would understand him walking away. mr whyte better have at least one player lined up minimum.
j1985

Believable14 Unbelievable1

I don't like to be negative but maybe it's time we voted with our feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't be the first time he's walked away from rangers remember he knocked rangers back before failing in England

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing the video of Ally leaving ibrox tonight, I suspect he might be in his bed already.

Agree0 Disagree0

The trouble is pal we cant if we do it we condemn our club to being finished ,we are essentially blackmailed by white he has borrowed 4 years of season tickets cash if we don't go we go bust this is so sad were f***ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Just saw ally on stv leaving ibrox. Didn't look happy. Wouldn't surprise me if he walked, wouldn't blame him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why doesnt he just tell us the truth about what is happening at ibrox

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 21:24:28
I knew we weren't gonnae get a great signing this jan but the one thing we needed to do is get more players in for when the inevitable injuries happen (they've started). So, the fine brains at rangers decide to cut our threadbare squad further by letting fringe players go on loan.
What benefit is letting Ortiz go on loan when well still be paying most of his wages? And fleck? Fleck is a half decent, not injured striker so what do we do? Let him go on loan which earns us no money and thins the squad further? Same with Hutton, ness and Naismith.
Worst transfer window imaginable for us.
Who to blame?! Whyte

Fraser

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Mr Tight getting out of Glasgow, I wonder why. Upset a few people by any chance

Agree0 Disagree0

What about naismith?

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be the prelude towards going into admin perhaps this is some legal tactic to take tha assets down to a bare minimum.?

Bet we loose again!!!

Get some in Ally

Believable8 Unbelievable7

That will excite us all- not

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are the dhims trying to sign another striker? Is this Lemons way to the title every player we want buy! Could have had lots of decent players if Mr Tight had not lied his way into Ibrox with promises of cash. Still behind Ally but F**K you Mr Whyte

Hibs sign one of mccoists targets ?

Mr Tight u have 2 hours to turn this
round if not ur gonna get head hunch out of ibrox

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Dont think much will happen but keep believing

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, no signings, i urge all bears to boycot home games and no renewal of seasons, if that kills the club then better than tight arsemaking moneyout of us, even giving ally a mill and spending jellas wages we could have got 2-3 decent players in, but fech all woud be to much to bear.... yes i meant bear for this bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Sweet beejeesus. Gve me something rangers please. Surely some young premier league loan signing striker can be ruffled up for a modest weekly wage. How low have we gone if we get no one in

Agree0 Disagree0

So we need to get rid of another 3 players to get sumwan else in by the looks of it lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Sandaza will be the one coming in i guess

Agree0 Disagree0

For every fiver you spend , Hibs will spend a tenner . ha
CelticMatt

Agree0 Disagree0

Ano m8 not lookin good

Agree0 Disagree0

'wtf is going on'? I'll tell you mate. We have no money, we will most probably sign noone before close of window. Will we go into administration tomorrow? Will our manager leave? If the answer to last two are no then that's the best case scenario. League is not over yet. We just have to get on with it and support the squad and manager. Put it another way if M&S (or any other equally good retailer!) had no money and were facing administration, would they buy more stock?! Jay

Agree0 Disagree0

The papers, which are being pored over by HMRC officials, are said to reveal borrowing against ticket sales for seasons 2011-12, 12-13 and 13-14 that Whyte was able to raise Ł24.4m.
Then on June 27 he was hit with the first of his repayment bills from Ticketus, who were demanding a total of Ł9.5m, their share of that summer's season-ticket sales. Whyte could only come up with Ł3.5m cash and to fill the shortfall mortgaged off part of season 2014-15 to the value of Ł6m…….
Well what can I say if he can’t afford to pay the repayments were does it end? We are in deep Sh%t . we need to get rid of Whyte NOW………………….

Agree0 Disagree0

So not going to games achieves what exactly?. Would have the club in more trouble. Get a grip.

CJM

Agree0 Disagree0

After Listening A Johnston on the radio tonight, the prospect of and even smaller squad for the second half of the season with players only going out the door and nobody coming in. I amconvinced that MrWhyte is actually working for Mr Dermont Desmond, as he appears to be doing more harm to rangers than any Celtic Team ever has done

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that Whyte is a liability and that administration doesn't seem as bad - with less saleable assets there appears less downside. The next few years will be pretty dire if we have sold off most of our income. If Whyte hasn't used the money from this to buy the company what has he done with it. It certainly hasn't gone on the squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheesh...some of you Bears have short memories!

SDM got us into this mess! NOT Whyte.

Ł33mill spent on players in the past 5 years and only Ł20mill received for selling.

Sellick, meanwhile spent Ł35mill and received Ł35mill.

I fail to understand why people continue to blame Whyte for the mess at my beloved club. The state at the club previously could NOT have been sustained- we were being run by Lloys Banking Group FFS! Whyte is at least running the club with some form of financial savvy. This mess WON'T be solved in one season!

Get a grip people. Deal with it and grow up!

Absolute rub age, any business man wouldn't touch rangers at this time, what a joke, wish it was true but no chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Thts been doing the rounds for weeks ,that would only happen now if we dont lose the tax case

He'd be throwing away his money if he did. We're in a mess and if he did want us, i'm sure he'd wait until after the Tax decision before making his mind up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look pal people like you have gotta get a life ffs,go and play with the x-box or something

Agree0 Disagree0

Also being hearing this a lot over the past few weeks, don't know if there's any truth to it but lets hope so because its becoming clear that Craig Whyte isn't the man to take our club anywhere but through the gutter!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim McColl ? Doubt it. More chance of Alastair Johnston buying him out

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah ill add to it, absolute rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously,, if you wanted to buy rangers,, why would you make a move when all the tax issues etc are still up in the air ? You would surely wait til all that was sorted and if the clubs in administration,, you get it for nothing and debt free. If the tax case is won,, you get it for peanuts with a load of debt, what would you do ....

McCoist to quit tomorrow or at 11pm due to lack of help from board(Whyte). this is from a source inside ibrox

I wouldn't blame the guy. Ally was never my choice from day 1 for manager but he has been restricted in what he can do and I'd be surprised if he actually signed any of these players in the summer !

Agree0 Disagree0

Why 11pm..odd time to quit? i smell shoite.

Part of me supports and agrees with his choice if this is true..as a loyal Gers fan we ned to get behindg Coisty..and at the same time let Whyte know how we feel...protest..and put no more money into his account...

GLASGOW Rangers are weighing up a last-minute loan swoop for Fulham frontman Marcello Trotta.

With Nikica Jelavic set to join Everton, the SPL giants are short of options in attack.

And the Chronicle understands Trotta is on their radar as boss Ally McCoist looks to bolster his strikeforce.

The 19-year-old scored eight goals in as many games for League One Wycombe Wanderers before returning to Craven Cottage earlier this month.

The Chairboys were keen to keep the Italian at Adams Park, but Whites boss Martin Jol wanted to assess him before deciding whether to send him back out.

Trotta featured as a late substitute in Friday's FA Cup defeat at Everton, but Jol may still be willing to let him leave SW6 to get regular game time elsewhere if he adds to his attack before tonight's deadline

rangers offer 500.000 for holt .joker

Believable2 Unbelievable5

IMO they're just trying to unsettle the player by dangling a carrot and get him to demand a transfer forcing a low bid to be accepted. It's something the Rangers board and management have been doing all transfer window. Rangers know they won't get him for half a million. Claros, especially, and Brozek are two other examples.

You'd think they'd realise it's not going to work, especially with the captain of an EPL side. Absolutely disgraceful if you ask me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone smell the embarrassing Goodwillie saga all over again. Sticking in a ridiculous offer that clearly won't be accepted, then trying to kid the fans on that we are seriously in the market for a good striker.

Coisty is a football man an would know the stupidity of making such a ludicrous offer. He was obviously not part of the approach.

Chin up Coisty, we know what's happening. Whyte mistakes loyalty for stupidity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers is a dying club now

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand how passionate everyone is about this club and succeeding but we have to get a grip. These are tough times and I think Whyte is actually talking sense. I for one would rather they not make any panic buys and look for some cheap short term free transfers over the next couple of weeks. Like he said, we need to spend within our means and I think that approach will do much more for us in the long run. Look at Aluko, a cheap signing outside of the window and he's been our MOM for the last 3 games. Smart business like this will see us weather the storm and stablize us for greater success in the future. Anyway, that's my rant after reading all of this soap opera/conspiracy theory on a daily basis. Agree to disagree. WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

If we do not sign anybody I think Rangers fans need to make a protest before the Utd Game on Sunday. I have supported Rangers now for 45 years and never felt as low as this

Ally's only got Ł500,000 to to buy 3 or 4 new players. He's had to loan out Ortis probably McKay and MacMillian is away to Dunfermline ( he was as good as some of the c##p we seed to go after and last but not least one of our targets has joined Hibs on loan.
WHAT THE HELL IS WHYTE DOING TO THE CLUB WE LOVE HE IS A CROOK.
Also now we are being told that there will be no signings that the three strikers of which he wants one will not be signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic man here, posted a few times and bare no ill feelings.
Whyte has been protected by the tens of thousands of true fans genuine love of their club and their belief that he , like them must have the clubs best interests at heart.
I saw with the demise of the old board at celtic who ran them into the ground to be saved by a guy from canada who had not been at a celtic game in 30 years, who bought them on the cheap, floated them on stock market then sold up and quadrupled his investment.
Dont trust any of these c**ts, the fans and only the fans will keep your club going.

just heard on tv sport that rangers had the opportunity to sign Salihi, Sandaza and Higginbottom but apparntly ally doesn't believe these players will enhance the team and ranges will not be doing any business tonight. SHOCKING

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Rangers are unlikely to add to their squad before the close of the January transfer window.

Manager Ally McCoist had identified three players - Hamdi Sahili, Francisco Sandaza and Kallum Higginbottom - as possible replacements for the Everton-bound Nikica Jelavic.

Rangers also failed in a bid for Norwich City's Grant Holt on deadline day, with their offer rejected by the English Premier League club

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, absolutely disgraceful

Agree0 Disagree0

Ortiz mackay & co were they good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Time for protests at Ibrox. Even Ally is feeding us sh** now.. It's a joke.

Rangers won't sign anyone, there is no cash even if jelavic is sold. Rapid Vienna are still owed money from his transfer to rangers. 3.5 million might just cover costs at Ibrox for a couple of weeks.

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Rapid arent owed anythin stop postin pash

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry cant stop talking PASH all the time, the amount of rubbish on here is unbelievable rangers can't afford to sign anybody, sone aluko had to pay a large share of his own transfer and you think money is there to sign other players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers dont owe Rapid anything. Also SSN have said that we are looking at Sandaza (again) murphy, Higginbottom and Templeton! However nothing can be done until Jelavic completes move to everton and even if he does there's no guarantee!

There is still a final instalment approx Ł420,000 to pay

Can't see us doing ANY business unless he goes, so one way or another a conclusion is needed QUICK!!

Grant Holt, 30 year old with no future sell on value.

Would we not be better in trying to buy younger players who might be a bit of a gamble but if they become successful then they will have a sell on value. The only problem with this is that if we have this approach then we must have faith in the younger players and play them, not loan them out to other teams.

If we require to cut costs then bring in younger players on lesser wages but potentially they could make the club money by selling them on in years to come.

If the management and board are prepared to be open with the fans and willing to go down this route then I suspect most fans would be happy with this.

Regarding Whyte's statement. It is very easy to play with words and if you look closely at his denials, that is exactly what he has done.

1. Whyte has stated "In the most lurid terms, the Record accuses the Club's management and, specifically me, of using supporters' money to help fund the buy-out of Rangers. Not true."

THE KEY WORDS HERE ARE "FUND THE BUY OUT OF RANGERS". RANGERS ONLY COST WHYTE £1 TO BUY, SE CLEARLY HE DIDN'T USE SUPPORTERS MONEY FOR THIS.

2. Whyte states "The Club is accused of not paying £5million in VAT. Not true."

WORDS PLAYING WITH THE SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF VAT OWED. 20% VAT ON £24.4M IS £4.88M. YES, YOU DON'T OWE £5M BUT YOU DO OWE £4.88M.

Again, Whyte is tring to pull the wool over Rangers supporters eyes with very slippery statements.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

All we can do is support the club as best we can. Listening to half truths from either side doesn't give us a clear view to judge. Time will tell I'm afraid. Just let's hope it's not as bad as the rumours are making it out to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Use of words HOP IT back to your own page Dr Doom

Agree0 Disagree0

Please can the original poster tell us all which team he/she supports ?. enough said.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice try. Some folk will always look beyond the official word, where as take the paper's radical views at face value it seems. Muzz

Agree0 Disagree0

No matter what Craig whyte says you will condemn him you failed to mention his comment about the previous board .they got us into this predicament Craig whyte is trying to redeem it if he does and makes money well done to him he paid the 18 million to the bank the ticket sales were to aid cash flow if you spend more than you earn you will soon be out of business

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly, to calculate 20% VAT on gross sales you divide by 6. Secondly, the article states a loan has been taken out secured against future season ticket sales, when you take out a loan i.e. a mortgage you dont pay VAT on that do you? VAT will be payable on season ticket sales as and when they occur {Ed014's Note - 20% is a fifth of anything, you divide it by 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to get a grip son!! instead of always taking him for his worst here's a crazy thought GET BEHIND HIM AND THE TEAM! He's done everything he has said he would do! Glasgow Rangers need ALL our FANS just now, not a bunch of moaning wee lassies!!
Dmrangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers don't owe Ł5 million VAT on the deal with Ticketus since financial services are exempt from VAT. That includes mortgages & loans.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the most idiotic post ive ever seen, cant believe the ed posted this man wheres my post which atleast made sense.. original poster your an idiot !!
FauldsRFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Its 20% of net sales, to calculate VAT on gross sales you divide by 6 {Ed001's Note - are you for real?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay then all you guys that believe Whyte, where is the Ł24.4m he got from selling the season books? If he paid of the debt with his own money, then where is the Ł24.4m?

Agree0 Disagree0

Douche Bag all I can say to the original post. Get a life... Everyone is screaming for him to speak out, he does and now he is a liar. No pleasing some folk, the letter is very strongly worded & he is on the defensive, he is standing up for himself and the club. Explained that there is an operating cost/income difference of -Ł10m - perhaps this is why we can't compete with less reputable clubs. Its not his fault. on a bigger scale RFC right now is much like the old and new UK govs. Labour spent, spent & spent created a massive deficit. Conservatives have to clean up the mess, take the flak and ultimately we all have to pay for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed your wrong on vat you add 20% to a base product cost Ł1=Ł1.20
to work out vat divide by 6 ==Ł0.20 {Ed001's Note - I see what you mean now, I misread it as it was talking about how much VAT to add on to a price.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So, to summarise, the daily record was wrong and Craig Whyte is correct in his rebuttal?

Oh...and VAT would likely be charged at the rate of the alleged offences i.e. 17.5% I believe

daviet

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed. VAT is added to the net price. If the net price of something is Ł10 you then apply 20% VAT (Ł2) and get a gross sale price of Ł12.

When you try to calculate the net price of something from the gross price you do indeed divide by 6. Ł12 divided by 6 is Ł2, getting you back to a net price of Ł10. If you were to divide Ł12 by 5 you would get Ł2.40, meaning a net price of Ł9.60 which is incorrect. {Ed001's Note - it's ok mate, I understand, I just misread and I believe 014 did too, we are trying to get through a lot of posts and obviously not reading them properly sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Daviet - The VAT rate in May 2011 was 20%.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is the Ł24 million secured against the season tickets? what has it been spent on? Certainly wasn't players, so where is it?

Reporter outside Goodison for SSN said it's believed that a compromise was reached over 8 million fee for Jelavic. Sounds like either installment and performance related add ons, or possibly a player on loan? McFadden or Anichebe? Personally would like to see Greek lad Velios as part of the deal

Believable2 Unbelievable7

The compromise he was on about related the Jelavic wanting to sign for Everton and the club needing money, not about Everton paying 8M.

There will be add ones...unless the Rangers management and those in charge of these matters are stupid enough not to include any, which wouldn't surprise me to be honest.

Craig Whyte on record (excuse the pun) but via official Rangers website that we have a squad of 30 players 18 of whom are internationals/just where does he get the 30 from

Believable6 Unbelievable3

All the young lads, first team players and the squad players we have that dont get played alot so we forget they exist! goin look on clubs site hes about right mabey not 30 but about 26 or 27

I don't believe a single word our chairman says and for a club like rangers to enter administration, which is more than likely is nothing short of humiliating.

There are 37 in Rangers squad and about 4 out on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it humiliating when you were sat in the stand watching gazza and when the club was spending 12 million on flow?. no well shut yer geggy.

He signed for Aston villa in summer did he not?

Agree0 Disagree0

He went back to Everton but has rarely seen action since his return

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Not exactly waht we need its strikers so why would we chase this guy when money is close to zero

Agree0 Disagree0

Great Player with Great Potential but don't think he'll sign for us, TV reporting 2 clubs are ready to make offers though

No chance, one of leeds best players and hes stated for years how he is desperate to get in the EPL which leeds will eventually, also we cant compete with thier wages

A lot of money maybe but soubt it will be Rangers money

Okay, I don't get paid by my current employer on time, so will I joing a club that's going into administration or will I joing a club where I'll earn more money and actually get paid.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guys just came from a team who had mental owner and money troubles so why would he join another team with the same problems? Bristol bound
TT

Agree0 Disagree0

He,s going to choose the more successful club even though there in the bottom half of the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a goood signing eventuallly lining up with naismith and celik would be a pacy front line but still needing another striker in there! i would rather the albanian lad from vienna than Holt, Holt would smash celtics back line up and down the park right enough

Dead right Mr Whyte - let's get behind him and boycott The Daily Record and all their lies about our great team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im glad he has finally spoken out. Cant argue with his statement imo

Agree0 Disagree0

I can understand where he is coming from regarding the Daily Record also know as the "daily rebel" - I for 1 have always avoided this rag and so should all fellow bears - not that I believe everything Whyte has said - but the record has always been anti Gers

Read it mate. What a joke. The most amount of transfer business out off all the scittish clubs. Half the players we bought ain't good enough. Fair enough longer contracts for our players but Whittaker!!

Even if he had spent 5 mill on decent new players we would have been in champs league and he would have that cash back now!!

Sack the board

Not so much lies in the statement more hiding the truth!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant believe some of you, total moon men, get ur heads out of the sand!

AJ - liar
Paul Murray - liar
The BBC - liars
The Daily Record - liars

how much bulls*%t does this guy need to feed some of you before you wise up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Convinced by this statement! I for one think there has to be more to the problems than meets the eye.....45m costs against revenues of 35m! Where did these figures come from as far as I can remember the turnover when in Europe was 68m and Europe adds only 15m, so I see without europe turnover would be 53m..... if I am wrong then fine I am sorry.... Worried season ticket holder here thats all. Things don't add up to me but praying I am wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you moan that every player hasnt been brilliant , look at the septics , they have bought LOADS of players over the last 2 years , how many have been any good ? we have made some very good signings , goian , boca , wallace and have kept some key players on new contracts , on the very limited budget we have we are doing ok

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how Celtic fans believe the Record has always been anti-Celtic. Each set of fans as paranoid as the other.

Agree0 Disagree0

Working capital ? we're skint where has this money gone ? Where will our future working capital come from ? Even Dave King says this is iffy ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

One thing for sure daily record going out of business, cause neither celtic or rangers fans buying it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still not 100 % sure on whyte, but no one can argue his point about former board members, the bbc, and the daily record. Does the poster above forget what the bbc did to Ally mccoist for example. I stopped buying the daily record a long time ago.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Yeah I think that we are going to find a new league and register for 5-a-side tournaments.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this boy that signed for hibs is decent. Then all will be proved about our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The wages of all of the player mentioned (aside from Jelevic) would pay for Whittaker's salary, good to see the effective management of money is alive and well at Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only really 1 first team player in that group of leavers... Jelavic. See no reason to keep players around that have no chance of playing. It's not as if we have a reserve league to keep them ticking over.

A meeting of the board of directors at Rangers has been called this afternoon at ibrox

anyone knoW if there is any truth in it?

If there is, could it mean that the serious cash flow issues being highlighted in todays press by the Daily Record (regarding ticket money mortgage and Johnstone interview...) has become critical to the point of being unrecoverable?

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Do you really think Craig Whyte would have a meeting at Ibrox today, with all the media outside.

Agree0 Disagree0

White has released a statment regarding the article in record on the rangers app

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Whytes statement is interesting, but answers no real questions other than to say the vclub is borrowing more money that it has - he's lending money based on future assets which if he can't pay back on time the company that he owes it to can try to recover it from current assets...its indirect, but still there......so really, he's "borrowing" money, just not from a bank...

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2012 14:50:01
Personally I think it's just a Craig whyte PR stunt but I wouldn't agree with paying £2 million for holt. Significant money should only be spent on youngsters who we can sell on for profit. Credit where credit is due Celtic have done this very well recently.

I can only think it would be boyd. Can't think of any former striker, having seen the state of rangers would be daft enough to want to go back!

13.10p.m. Sky Sports Reporter Outside Murray Park. There are no targets at Murray Park and there are no no developments on anyone coming into Rangers. Paul Lambert has stated that Holt is not for sale. Watford are in for Templeton. The only two signings mentioned in Scotland were both at Hibs.

Quite optimistic that if we have placed on offer for young David Templeton that there is also the chance that a striker has been lined up. Not saying this will be a big name possibly a Sandaza or Sutton but a striker none the less. On the move for Templeton, if this was to be succesful then pretty excited at the thought of him and Naismith creating on either flank. Trying to be positive here guys on the back of the deem and gloom surrounding our great club. No matter what mess that has been created by messers Murray and Whyte there is no way Rangers will be allowed to cease.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

There is not a hope in hell of Mad Vlad doing business with Rangers for Templeton. Remember Rangers still owe Hearts nearly Ł1m for Lee Wallace!

Agree4 Disagree3

Best case scenario - Salihi,Sandaza,Templeton and a RB in today.

Agree2 Disagree1

Watford in for Templeton and hibs signed Claros. No signings and a load of P*sh from Whyte about trying but not enough time. Time for fans to let him know what we think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Salihi played for celtic last night at fleetwood. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree3

Inb4 green j*pseyes "hilarious" comment.

I think it would be silly to assume we don't have replacement(s) for jelavic lined up to come in, even if it is last minute, if Whyte is "all about making money (which we're not even sure about yet, and can only wait til the tax case to see what hes gonna do, i'm willing to bet if the tax case is won then all the namecalling and conjecture will quickly dissappear, such is the attitude of the SPL fan these days)

It just makes sense, sell an asset for 6+ million, get noone into replace, lose or make it very difficult to win the league all equates to losing FAR more money than 6+ million

I think 3 players will be signed before tonight if jelavic goes, tho it seems like the fee has been agreed then no further news for a long time considering managers are trying to wrap things up quickly on the last day of transfers.

I'd have templeton if it was under a mil, and i think the other 2 will be players that we haven't been linked to before because of the whole Goodwullie saga etc.

Rangers to sign 1 and 1 only top class player today. His name has not even been mentioned on this site......I've never posted on here before, I think that the media stir up hideous lies and stories about both sides of old firm when things aren't going their way. If Rangers go back top it will all be Doom and gloom about Celtic. We buy and fuel the rubbish in these papers. We have ourselves to blame. I'm in the know. Rangers will not go bust or lose the tax case completely. Although a payment of around 9 million will be made. David Murray will pay a percentage. The striker will come on loan by 9 pm tonight. A great English player. Celtic fans concentrate on your own team not on hear. You aren't world beaters an average team in a very very average league. You need rangers in it to survive. Fact. Trust in ally bears with the team, lose the negative your being fed from the east end. Keep calm and pass to Aluko. Davey c

Believable10 Unbelievable11

If you're correct I'll donate Ł50 to Help For Heroes when I get paid. You're wrong though,

Normally people just post one made up thing at a time.

GoldCoastBhoy

Agree4 Disagree2

You sounded very reasonable till your last sentence "keep calm and pass to aluko" wtf is that ment to mean?

Agree2 Disagree2

Celtic would not survive, Sky sports and Espn won't pay to see celtic play st jonstone and co. The old firm together is the only reason there is any TV money

Agree6 Disagree4

I don't really make a lot of posts on these sites.

However I am a Celtic fan and I hope that Rangers situation is sorted out sooner rather than later.

Yes Celtic would survive without Rangers.

BUT it would be a massive hit financially to Celtic and the whole of Scottish Football, should Rangers be relegated to the 3rd division.

If Rangers went into liquidation then this would be a snowball effect for Scottish football, Dundee United, Hearts, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and many others would follow.

I don't want Rangers to go out of business, unlike the minority of Celtic fans that don't really understand the situation.

This is a different situation to which Celtic had in the turn over by Fergus McCann.

I hope Rangers continue to be successful and compete with Celtic on a yearly basis. (Preferably behind us though).

Agree5 Disagree3

Celtic would def not survive, they will become a poorer team than now, look ow much the standard has dropped since we stopped buying all the big name players, imagine what will happen if we were bust. Only the foolish of Celtic supporters will want Rangers bust. We go bust Celtic suffer big time, pure and simple.

Agree4 Disagree4

Rangers will only,at worst,be relagated n have to start again in div 3.couple of years with straight promotions n your back.so i think celtic can survive that!this theory dznt hold any water at all. green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree4

Dont talk pish the tax man does not make deals just ask lester pigget ken dodd portsmouth you rangers fans need 2 wake up your man white has only put 1p into the club he sold 4 year worth of season tickets 2 a ticket company 2 keep the club going this season you sold the rights 2 your own tops 4 or 5 years ago the only thing white was thinking about when he came in was making sure he was main creditor so when the club go bust he gets his 14 mill back and by the way if he got a bid for jele of 9 mill in the summer why is he going now for 5to6 mill now cause white has told lie after lie and only now papers r catching him out

Agree3 Disagree0

"Celtic would def not survive, they will become a poorer team than now"

Bit of a contradiction there. If they don't survive, they go out of business. That won't happen. It seems many Rangers fans are trying to make themselves feel better about the club's plight by thinking that the biggest rivals will be drastically affected too. Sky and ESPN don't pay much money as it is so it wouldn't be as bad as everyone makes out. As for the effect on other teams in Scotland, this 'concern' for their future wasn't there when the Old Firm wanted to go to England.

Agree1 Disagree0

Green Jhedi - You clearly are one of the fools. Celtic and Scottish football as a whole will struggle without Rangers. FACT!

Agree3 Disagree3

Do people on here really think if Sky pull the deal then Celtic would be in serious financial difficulty by losing the Ł2M a year they get....dont be stupid! The Business world constantly changes and IF sky removed their deal teams will have to work around a reduced income...sell a player or two...bring in some youth players on lower wages that idea. Get the picture now? Dont forget how we were told that Rangers & Celtic leaving the SPL would be a good thing for Scottish Football...why would just Rangers be bad but both leaving be good? I doubt SKY would pull the deal...they might reduce the money on offer taking into account that Rangers arent there but they can still televise Rangers games against Cowdenbeath etc...In other words the world will keep turning of that you can be sure.

Agree0 Disagree1

Celtic will survive will people stop talking pi55. Might have less money but so what the owners are billionares, not fraudsters. Scottish football will survive without rangers and would probs be more competitive.

Agree0 Disagree1

Too right Davey c, this smells of divide and conquer to me. Dont be divided bears.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep calm and pass too Aluko is what most eng premiership teams have on t shirts about the teams best player......man city have keep calm and pass to silva.....there is life outside of the old firm. Rangers have made a bid for Hearts' David Templeton. Good player and could be a good signing but rather puzzling considering the need for now not one but two strikers.

Agree0 Disagree3

Hyopthetically, if he did sign for us opposed to a striker I reckon it's because since the end of last season we've needed a decent midfielder to either partner or cover for Davis, a playmaker and a creative attacking player. So my thinking would be Templeton would give us more of a presence going forward and Ally would rely on and expect all the attacking players to contribute to goals. Opposed to just getting a striker.

Agree3 Disagree3

Head in sand time again boys ?....col

Agree2 Disagree0

Good morning Teddy, I,m just reading about it now(Record Online), time you boys and girls woke up to what mess your club is in!
CRAIG WHYTE sold off four years of fans' money to help fund his Rangers buy-out, it was revealed last night.

And Record Sport can also reveal high-ranking HMRC officials are investigating alleged non-payment of VAT since Whyte gained control of the club last May.

Current director Dave King and former board member Paul Murray have been quizzed by the tax authorities as part of their enquiry which has revealed Ł24.4million has been borrowed against future season-tickets sales.

Tranches of tickets over four seasons have been sold to Ticketus, a London-based group linked to Octopus, and it's claimed this deal helped finance Whyte's operating costs after the takeover.

Whyte himself last night confirmed he had sold off the tickets but denied he used the money to pay off Lloyds Bank. He insisted the Ł18m for the bank came from one of his companies.

When Whyte took over Rangers' debt was Ł18m to Lloyds Bank and their wage bill had been reduced to Ł14m but it is believed the club could owe much more than that.

It's thought the current debt is Ł21m to Ticketus plus Ł5m VAT on the ticket deal. But there could be other bills due and of course Rangers are awaiting the final verdict on their Ł49m EBT (Employee Benefit Trust) tax case.

Last night Whyte insisted the Ticketus deal was normal practice for clubs and his spokesman said: "The suggestion that the Rangers takeover was funded through financing arrangements on season tickets is categorically untrue.

"Rangers FC is no different in that it has a working capital facility with Ticketus, as have many, many other clubs. It is a common arrangement in football. This facility was in place at Ibrox long before the takeover."

The EBT ruling is due within weeks and if Rangers lose they will be facing financial meltdown.

Their debt could then be in the Ł75m region with liquidation a stark reality.

But many now fear Rangers could be tipped over the abyss and into some kind of insolvency even before their Judgment Day over the tax case.
The Truth is out there! Oh it,s good to be a Tim, hahahha.

Agree4 Disagree4

Yes there is, you must have bought the early edition. I cant believe that a club fighting a large tax case would be able by law to sell 4 years season tickets. Although the story will have alot uf substance to it, it was also filled with words like could and if, Paul murray and king don't even get me started on these buck passers, these two guy's are part of the reason we are in this mess, but have seen their chance to push it all onto someone else, and Bain and D murray too, these guy's are getting an easy ride. It's obvious that CW is a puppet for someone else as no one in their right mind would have took on this challenge. The burning questions I want to know are these, where were the Daily record and BBC etc when D Murray was running the club into huge debt ?. why wait for someone to takeover before bringing all this out ?. The answers simple Whyte has stood up to the Daily record and BBC and gained enemies, and on top of that we have all these former directors, who put us where we are now, running to the media and the tax man telling stories. I don't know what CW is up to, and I hope he is a puppet for some else tbh, but lets not forget the people who put us where we are today? Oh and I cant believe during the last few months of bad press and t.v coverage that the Daily record, BBC, STV, or any other media outlet has approached D Murry to ask him why he sold to this guy, or dig up the mess he had created.

Did Rangers Mortgage Their Season Ticket Income For Four Years – And Is It All Spent?

The Internet is buzzing tonight. Something big, we hear, is appearing in the Daily Record tomorrow. The wags on Radio Clyde were discussing the dread fate that may await Rangers. Clearly my blog post yesterday has been read in high places!

The suggestion is that the Record is breaking a story that, horror of horrors, Rangers Football Club PLC had mortgaged four years’ worth of season ticket income, in a large corporate version of an Ocean Finance consolidation loan. This was to bring in funds to, perhaps, allow Mr Whyte to pay off the Lloyds Bank debt and provide working capital for the Club. But what happens when the loan is spent and the debt is still there?

Did Leeds United Not Do This?

Keen observers might recall that one of the fateful actions by Leeds United, before it plunged into insolvency, was to mortgage future season ticket and other income. As “The Director” magazine reported in October 2006:-

“To most lenders, the idea of becoming involved in football finance sparks the kind of panic attack suffered by England footballers in penalty shoot-outs. They remember when Leeds United posted a Ł49.5m loss in 2003 while carrying Ł78m of debt securitised against future season-ticket revenues. They recall how creditors waved goodbye to enough money to keep the entire gaggle of England WAGs (wives and girlfriends) in Gucci bags and Cristal champagne for life.

The then Leeds chairman, Peter Ridsdale, explained the profligacy that had led to the collapse of his club’s fortunes as “living the dream”, but it was the beginning of a nightmare for other teams seeking to fund their success by mortgaging future revenues.

It is easy for clubs to be caught in a downward spiral. Relegation from the Premiership, for example, as happened to Leeds in 2004, represents a year-on-year drop in income of at least Ł15m, while the collapse in 2002 of the Football League’s broadcast deal with pay-TV start-up ITV Digital, left lower-division clubs Ł180m out of pocket. No wonder banks are jittery.

Yet such is the clamour from fans for on-pitch success and shareholders’ desire to tap into Premiership riches, that football boardrooms have tended to chase Ridsdale’s dream by spending money they have not yet received. The difficulty now is that the banks are no longer prepared to fund such speculation.” (Emphases added)

As that reliable source Wikipedia records these events:-

“O’Leary’s Leeds never finished outside of the top five, but following their defeat in the UEFA Champions League 2001 semi-final against Valencia their fortunes began to change. Under chairman Peter Ridsdale, Leeds had taken out large loans against the prospect of the share of the TV rights and sponsorship revenues that come with UEFA Champions League qualification and any subsequent progress in the competition. Leeds signed Robbie Fowler and Seth Johnson for large fees and big wages. However, Leeds narrowly failed to qualify for the Champions League losing out to 4th place to Newcastle United, and as a consequence did not receive enough income to repay the loans.”

Remember this was before the global financial crash too!

However, it seems that Rangers were able to find someone to fund a similar deal for them.

The Secret Sources of Information

What digging has the Daily Record done to find this story (if that is their big splash)?

In the words of the great Alex “Candid” Cameron, I have the solution in an envelope here, which I will now open.

Here is what is hidden in the envelope.

Extracted from the Rangers Tax Case Blog post Reflections on Craig Whyte’s Obsessive Secrecy – 6th June 2011

“… it looks like Rangers are preparing the ground for a credit facility worth about Ł30-35m . Such a credit line would be secured by a large percentage of Rangers’ season ticket revenues over the next four seasons. … While such an approach would saddle Rangers with a very large debt burden, and would drain much of the blood supply that sustains any football club, such a strategy at least allows Rangers to live and to fight another day. At a club that would likely have gone bankrupt had it not managed to play in the Champions’ League group stages three years in a row, who is to say that they cannot continue this streak? … Unless one of Craig Whyte’s backers antes up cash to make borrowing unnecessary, the club’s viability depends upon many random variables. … if Rangers lose their appeal against the tax bills in their possession, and if Rangers fail to qualify for the Champions’ League in the next two seasons, it is hard to see how the club can operate at its current scale if it has surrendered close to 70% of the revenue from its season ticket sales for the next four years.”

This was prompted by the lodging at Companies House, as identified by diligent and indefatigable posters on RTC of a form MG05s. This is a document which publicly intimates the withdrawal of property from the coverage of a floating charge. Put shortly, Mr Whyte’s company took over the security over Rangers’ assets provided by the floating charge granted to the Bank of Scotland in 1999. This charge allows Mr Whyte’s company to appoint a receiver, thus giving him first crack at the assets to repay the debts due to his company by Rangers. However, it is possible to take property out of the coverage of the charge.

The MG05s revealed that the “Released Assets” were the “Tickets, Season Tickets, Ticket Proceeds, Designated Accounts and Account Proceeds as defined below”.

The “Season Tickets” were 23,154 for 11/12, 27,017 for 12/13, 27,014 for 13/14 and 23,154 for 14/15. Effectively Rangers were giving up their rights to this income for the seasons mentioned. The form was signed by Phil Betts, director of Rangers and also heavily involved with Close Finance, and Mr Whyte himself.

There was however a problem. The MG05s had released all the assets, except for the “Released Assets”! In June therefore Rangers went to the Court of Session to “fix” the mistake, with an application for “rectification of the register”. You will find the court order here.

Now, had there been any reaction to RTC’s prescient article?

Yes there was!

Extract from Darrell King interview with Craig Whyte – June 2011

“Contrary to a report elsewhere this week, no form has been signed that would allow season-ticket money to be used as a guarantee against any FUTURE loans; indeed, the form lodged at Companies House by RFCG last month does the opposite: it prevents season-ticket money from being used for that purpose.“ (Lots of emphasis added!)

Nothing about past loans though!

There were other hints about this issue too, although not easy to find.

Extract from the Rangers Independent Board Committee (IBC) statement contained in the Shareholders’ Circular – June 2011

“…the IBC is concerned about a lack of clarity on how future cash requirements would be met, particularly any liability arising from the outstanding HMRC case.

“The IBC is committed to ensure that the transaction and future investment and funding proposals should be transparent to all the shareholders and supporters of the Club.”

The issue was also raised in the court action pursued by the former Chief Executive, Martin Bain, against Rangers Football Club PLC:- June/July 2011

“As a result of concerns about tax liability and liability for wrongful trading (Rangers FC’s) Board of Directors prior to the takeover by Mr Whyte were making arrangements with the defender’s bankers to ring fence the subscriptions from season ticket holders to guard against those sums of money being lost in the event of there being a substantial tax liability. It is understood Mr Whyte has not ring-fenced those monies collected from season ticket holders. What is more it is understood Mr Whyte has arranged for the defender to assign its season ticket income for the next four years to a London based finance company in exchange for cash flow at the present time.”

So, by June/July last year it seemed to be the case that (a) the season ticket income up to and including 2014/2015 had been released from Craig Whyte’s security over Rangers: (b) the IBC was concerned about how Mr Whyte was going to fund running costs; (c) Martin Bain was concerned about this issue too, as it related to the ongoing solvency of the Club; and (d) Rangers had made such a mess of the deed that they had had to spend good money engaging lawyers to fix the mistake.

Who might these London financiers be?

Close Brothers Group is a finance house, closely connected to Primary Asset Finance. One of the main men there is Mr Phil Betts, erstwhile director of Rangers. He resigned suddenly less than two weeks ago.

It is understood that, through Close, substantial sums were borrowed on the strength of the season tickets.

On 9th August 2011 Rangers granted a security in favour of Close Leasing in connection with income from their catering contract with Azure (a company from the Murray stable!). This was recorded in a form MG01s.

Then, on 26th October, a further form MG05s Security was registered in connection with alterations to the floating charge in connection with the Azure contract, ranking this ahead of the floating charge holder. The parties to this deed were Close Leasing, Rangers Football Club PLC, Rangers FC Group Ltd and L:iberty Capital Ltd (being Mr Whyte’s 100% personally owned company based in the British Virgin Islands).

There does not appear, yet, to have been a security registered for the season ticket “mortgage” but as all the parties are on the same side, it might have been decided to leave it unregistered till necessary, as there was no way that Messrs Whyte and Betts, who have a long, productive and successful history together rescuing companies, would fall out.

Now however, Mr Betts is gone from both Club and Group. Hot on the heels of that Sir David Murray re-appears at Murray Park. In the immediate follow up the mainstream press suddenly start to turn on Mr Whyte.

Rumours abound that they have run, or are running, out of cash, and that even the transfer of Mr Jelavic won’t bring in enough to fund the ongoing operations.

Have Rangers Run Out of Money?

The short answer is that we do not know. However, if Rangers had not failed at the first Champions League hurdle, or even at the first Europa League hurdle, or if the Ł9 million offer for Jelavic in the summer had been accepted, then this speculation would undoubtedly be even more groundless than it is clearly is already.

Mr Whyte, as an astute businessman with a proud record, though he won’t name the companies he is proud of, will clearly have a plan to deal with these storms, and with the sudden departure of his “close” colleague.

You pulled it back from 9 points - not becuase of how good Celtic were playing - but how poorly Rangers were. you only get 3 points for a win, regardless of how you play, the fact you had 2 games in hand @ that point, one of which was against Dunfermline!! You are now 1 point ahead with 1 game in hand - lets see whos laughing at the end of the season. Celtic may still win the league - which is well overdue considering you have been unable to beat a very poor Rangers side to the SPL over the last 3 years spending a pretty fortune, just remember not to laugh to early. And, while we are on it, do us a favour and stick to your own rumours page, you seem to be far more interested in what's going on @ Ibrox rather than your own place.

Agree5 Disagree1

Another no name! check what walter spent since he returned..you might be surprised. of course you might not stop a take over but if you had listened to your old board n made it clear you backed them whyte woulda at least had to be truthfull.you forget we acted and know how to remove crooks and thieves from the boardroom! but you danced with the devil mate n now he wants paying........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree1

Another no name? It's irrelevant, however i'll let you know - it's Iain if that makes things better for you :)
Agree Walter spend around Ł19M in his first summer, however nothing was spent for 2 and half years after that with Beattie being the first signing nearly 23 months along with the squad being stripped. The board wasn't backed as first of all they wouldn't advise any information with regards to what was going on, and the vast amount of staff / wages being paid to duds behind the scenes - no one was to know what Whyte was like, however i cannot see how SDM being in charge would be any different just now - it would be exactly the same position for the team. You acted and know how to remove crooks and thieves from your board? Don't make me laugh - you currently have some of the richest people in and around the UK who suck your season book cash out and boast all your Premiership targets when it's season book time only for none of them to materialise once the cash is in. You received the best part of Ł10M for McGeady only for Ł6M to be spent back into the team, and second place in the league. You had a chance to spend Ł3/4M 2 January transfers ago and knock Rangers down, but they didn't, and Rangers won the league again - not down to our good results, but Celtic's worse results as again they short-changed the support. We may be getting pumped just now, but it's been happening quietly over the road at your place as well, difference being we have 3 league titles out of it to your none. Celtic need to win this league as much as Rangers - no cash in for the last 3 years - thats a Ł45M deficit from no CL football and lots of money spent on transfers - even if you dress it up with sales from McGeady you still have a club to run. At the end of the day we need both clubs to consistently reach the CL group stages - especially with the winners going straight in this year and 2nd place going into 3 qualifiers.
And as for the relegation to the 3rd division theory - even though we got a better deal from TV this time round, when we renegotiate in 3 years time - potentially with Rangers just getting back from relegation 3 divisions - do you think Sky/ESPN will present a nice deal with Rangers having 1st division players playing infront of 10,000 fans - if we are lucky?

good luck to jelly, if he leaves, been a good players with decent profitability, disappointed we cant sell the s*** and keep him though

Believable8 Unbelievable3

The test will come today when we will see what players (if any) are brought in. At least one striker, a wide midfielder and a full back (right). What happens today will tell us a lot about where the club is going between now and the end of the season.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

Your a fantasist Jhedi. See you on here tomorrow when your prophecies of doom turn out as nothing but pi55 and vinegar. duccablue.

What story is there, have I missed something? The idea that Rangers fans by 'burying their heads' have caused this is insane, as fans nothing can be done when the owner has 92% of shares, realistically what can they do? Hold a protest? Banners? Whyte can just use the tax case as an excuse, there is no point until it is resolved one way or another.

i have been listening to hugh keevins on superscoreboard for years and only on tonights show was he prepared to go into detail about the consequences of rangers entering administration etc, which i found strange- until he revealed that he has read the jim trayner piece where he voiced his concerns but obviously was giving nothing away. whatever the article is about i for one are bricking it.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Unfortunately its true. it was very briefly mentioned on radio monday night that the jim traynor story will worry rangers fans.

Mate nobody buys newspapers now ? Check the net ?

Agree2 Disagree1

It smells like a load of bull s**t to me personally.

Agree4 Disagree3

I have checked the net and it only seems to be fan forums and rumour websites reporting it! And they have ranged from administration, to the tax case being cleared and the remortgaging of future season ticket sales to keep the club afloat! Just find the variety of it odd!

Agree2 Disagree0

Seems like good, free advertising for them though... i've got a feeling that's all it is. Would impact the Jela sale if anything were to come out tomorrow, incidentally. Muzz.

He left this company in march

If you check the link it actually states that his appointment ended on 4 Mar 10

Agree2 Disagree1

He used to be a director of that company but not anymore! read it ffs!

Agree2 Disagree0

Looks like the sh%t has finally hit the fan.Story is Whyte borrowed around Ł30m against 3yrs season ticket money, paid Lloyds Ł18m,advanced around Ł7m for working capital etc.Transferred debts to himself so club now owe HIM everything, secured against fans season ticket money for next couple of years.Daily record rumoured to be breaking story tomorrow(it's old news to anyone who could be bothered looking). Some sites now saying Administration on Wednesday.

Agree3 Disagree2

You lot really are ignorant. Yes his appointment has ended with that company. The point is this......THIS IS HIS LINE OF BUSINESS, WINDING UP COMPANIES, ASSET STRIPPING.

How thick can some people be??

Agree2 Disagree1

"He used to be a director of that company but not anymore! read it ffs!"

YES (clap clap clap) They went into admin when he was still appointed numbnuts..

Now that clubs know that Rangers have 7 mill , they will inflate the prices of their players, especially with only 24hrs left in the window
Hearts want over 1 mill for Templeton
Salihi played a game for celtic dev team against fleetwood, so Celtic in pole position for the striker if he impressed
so how much is Whyte prepared to spend and give Ally, and most important, who wants to join a club that seems in meltdown

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Ally won't see a single penny of that money. if anyone comes in it will probably be a loan deal.

Agree4 Disagree1

Whyte will give Ally a big fat zero to spend.

Agree3 Disagree1

Whyte is clearly not going to release any cash. McCoist is getting hung out to dry. All Gers fans should stand behind Coisty through this horrific time. He cares for the club, unlike Whyte. We are just a cat in his bag and he is about to throw us into the river.

Murray should be absolutely ashamed of himself. He lied about only passing on the club to someone who could take it forward.

Never mind the bull that we never complained when the top notch players were being bought. Why would we? As a fan you assume the club was being managed properly. Murray is the real villain of the piece.

Agree4 Disagree1

Agree murray should be ashamed, "i will only sell this club to someone with rangers best interests at heart". What a load of b@ll sh@t, c'mon murray let us know why you f@@ked us over.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rangers dont have 7m, where are you getting that from? the jellyfish sale?
cos from what is doing the rounds is that it's 3.5m up front, with around 2m still to be paid to rapid, then take off vat and agents fees....lucky if there's 1m left for whyte to trouser and run.
