Mark Warburton clear favourite for the Fulham job.

Hope and think he will stay with us but this, unlike jobs like Liverpool, seems a realistic possibility.

Any thoughts bears?

30 Nov 2015 18:48:29
Warburton has already assured all Rangers fans that he is here for the long haul. He has a job here and is working hard to get us back to the top and obviously there will be admirers of him because of the great job he is doing but I'm sure he will stay.

30 Nov 2015 20:13:18
He is a man of honour and will stay at least to the summer, I reconQPR are holding out for him in a few years, once he sorts us out he would want back to the smoke for sake of his family, we got him for a few heras so let's enjoy.

30 Nov 2015 19:15:28
Naz why would he go to Fulham? Because they are a london club and his family are in london, far to little a job for him, he said he will be here until we reach the champions league final, although we know this was an of the cuff remark by him I think he will be here for years yet, I certainly hope so, as the man knows what he wants for our club.

01 Dec 2015 00:18:13
Aye he's seems to be a pretty sound and honourable enough sort of guy so I would expect him to at least see his contract out. You never know either, this club has a funny old way of getting under your skin and becoming part of you. In a year or so he might just be true blue like the rest of us eejits and want to stay on for the long haul. He's done alright so far.

Well he was asked yesterday when he would consider the "job done" at Ibrox and his reply was when we get to Champions League Final. So i reckon he will be here for another three years :)

01 Dec 2015 10:22:10
getting pretty bored of these ridiculous rumours every time there's a managers job somewhere.

01 Dec 2015 11:07:53
It's not a ridiculous rumour, he's the odds on favourite, I hope he gets linked with a few more clubs in the next 3 yrs, because it will mean he's doing well for us.

01 Dec 2015 15:00:20
it is ridiculous. he's going nowhere.

01 Dec 2015 20:41:39
The bookies have him as favourite, they don't get it wrong too often. He speaks well, and did seem to choose his words quite carefully when asked yesterday. Fulham do appear to think it's a possibility and have made their intentions clear.

Personally I don't think it will happen. He has spoken of the challenge of restoring rangers and does seem to relish it. Fulham would offer a bigger playing budget but realistically the best they can hope for is promotion then a real struggle in the premiership. And if he was to fail to get promoted then he would be one of the many managerial casualties he spoke of yesterday.

But let's be honest here guys and not get carried away. So far has he done anything at ibrox beyond what should be expected? A firm no.

Too many fans are using the pathetic last season as a yard stick. The reality is we are playing against a very low standard of opposition with tiny playing budgets. We are beginning to really struggle to break these teams down. The January transfer window can't come soon enough as we desperately need a cutting edge. We are far too predictable, one paced, and very frustrating to watch.

We should also be honest, things are not as Rosie as many claim. HIbs have real momentum and are a real danger unless we get out act together.

01 Dec 2015 18:00:32
He ain't going any where fast. He is staying.

01 Dec 2015 20:53:26
Spot on he would need to prove himself at a higher level than the Scottish championship, with a far higher budget than any other team, before even a division one team in England would be interested.

01 Dec 2015 23:01:43
Frustrating to watch luigi?
Had to watch tonight's game on TV and I was thoroughly entertained second half. Lots of lovely passing and wee flicks and lay offs etc. Agree we are one paced, 100 mph though!
Teams now just sit back and try to soak it up, a bit like a boxer that knows he's onto a hiding, if I may use that analogy, to hopefully then hit us on the break. I feel teams have sussed us out as last season they could've had a go but this season they've realised that by doing that they get spanked and now just sit back. We are now a completely different prospect to the last few seasons and now they know it, they don't fancy it. The, "It's only Rangers, " attitude has now been replaced by, "Aw naw, how many are we gonnae get pumped by? "

Fab1 for the very first time I agree with your comment above, I even posted the same on the banter site before I seen your post, so for a first time we are agreed on something, lol.

02 Dec 2015 14:12:57
Pieandbovril if you watched the game then you should know what I'm talking about. The first half was very very poor and was very frustrating, like many of our recent performances.

Thank goodness we got a quick goal in the second half, but the scorline was a bit unfair on them. They had the best chance of first half and could easily of had a penalty (ball challenge) .

Pretty much every football pundit seems to share my view on this, and MW post match interview expressed his disappointment in the frustrating slow play in the first half. Suppose you know better?

In terms of the sea change in attitude you speak of from the opposition. Please stop using last seasons pathetic failure (IMO one of the most pathetic failures in world football history) as a yard stick. These teams are of a very, very low standard with tiny playing budgets. Struggling to break down this level of opposition is frustrating, MW was clearly frustrated in the first half. A point made in near every match report.

If we hold off hibs challenge (I'm afraid that is an if) then we need to improve vastly over the summer to come close to a top six finish (no chance of a realistic title challenge) , on current ability we are nowhere close. an uncomfortable truth.

It wasn't a dig billy, I'm just being honest, yes he is obviously a far superior manager than ally but at the moment he is only doing the same job any decent manager worth his salt would be doing, nothing extraordinary that would make any English Premier or championship team sit up and take notice, and yes before you say it Ronnie is in exactly the same boat .

02 Dec 2015 10:43:42
Pieandbovril don't forget while your guys were over at Murray park ( lol ) getting massages and being fed chicken and pasta yesterday lunchtime, the Dumbarton boys were finishing there shift at there day jobs, I know this for a fact because I work in the same building as one of them, his answer when I asked him if he was looking forward to the game was " no cannae be arsed tonight, its pissing down and I'm not finished here till half three " says it all about half the teams your up against this year.

Heard a rumour I know a pro player who's agent is also o'hallorans from St johnstone has already agreed to come in Jan any thoughts.

30 Nov 2015 11:49:42
I heard from a Rangers scout who does it off his own back (unpaid) that its looking more like he's going to them instead. He was on there books as a kid before a unsuccessful move to Bolton .

30 Nov 2015 12:16:15
Not a chance, we are only targeting a defender and a defensive midfielder according to mw.

30 Nov 2015 15:52:31
if you watched last Friday's game on telly he was mince, and couldn't get a game for Cowdenbeath, hope they buy him though.

30 Nov 2015 16:28:22
Nothing against the player, but if THEY r interested in him surely they are struggling on the transfers front.
