Billy Gilmour has great potential but realistically is a couple of years away from the first team at Rangers in my opinion never mind Chelsea etc. I would honestly fear for his future if he went to Chelsea. It is a big jump playing against boys to then playing against men unless you have a Wayne Rooney like build at that age. Realistically I can't see him being physical enough to cope playing against men at the moment. He should let his body develop, play for Rangers for a season then think about England if that is where he wants to play.

By all means if the boy wants to make it onto the big stage one day that is fine, but don't be a fool and go play in Chelsea's academy. Stay where you are and get game time, genuinely develop as a player then go show them what you can do.

I told everyone he was going too Chelsea months ago and got shot down at the time the info I was given was rangers where offering £500 a week Chelsea £2000 a week I don't know if this had changed

I know Chelsea has flown him and his parents down months ago he was greeted by frank lampard and someone else I can't remember the name but he had a one to one with lamps given him advice from videos they had of gilmour

Chelsea are also covering all the costs of the relocation of his family

From my point of view rangers had tried too do a cheap deal hoping for loyalty but the young boy is going too try and make as much money as he can too look after himself and his family football is a short career footballers have too make as much as they can there career could be over at any moment

Footballing wise it doesn't make sense but financially it does and what footballer isn't doing things for financial gain there human anyone in any industry goes where the money is I don't expect footballers too be different if any you's do you's are daft

I wish the boy all the best and hope his career goes very well

Dont want to see him leave and I get the points being made about getting lost in a big academy like at chelsea but part of me feels he would be working and developing with the best of the best in regards coaches facilities and fellow players the cream of which go on loan to arnhem or a championship team in england thus getting them experience at a good standard! If he stays his development is either in our league or out on loan to st mirren or the likes! Its a once in a lifetime chance and whatever the wee guy does then I wish him every success

what a lot of codwaffle.

do you want the best for him or the best for our finances?

his family will be set for life, who knows their circumstances.

I hate to say it but there is life after the gers.

31 Mar 2017 11:05:25
codwaffle! haha you don't hear that word in Kilwinning!

They said on the phone in that a youngster can't earn more than £125 a week until they are 17. It was one of the panel but they seemed pretty certain.

31 Mar 2017 14:59:34
I would truly hope if our young midfielder billy gilmour does sign for Chelsea, that we could still have him playing for us, on loan from chelsea, for at least 2 seasons! If he's as good as everyone thinks and develops into the player everybody thinks he could be, then this situation could still be a win, win, situation, for both rangers and chelsea!

31 Mar 2017 15:13:16
Billy Gilmore is the type of player that we are looking for at the moment as he has bags and bags of potential and still young enough to develop into an even better player, but what chance do we have when we can't keep hold of him at 15 years old

31 Mar 2017 15:54:01
I think he should at least stay at rangers for another couple of years as he has a better chance of breaking into to our team at 17/ 18 years old than he does with chelsea. I know chelsea have one or two young players breaking through just now but other than that I think john terry was the last youngster to make it at chelsea, correct me if I'm wrong. I can understand the lure of chelsea and the financial benefit of a move to them. Hopefully he stays.

31 mar 2017 15:58:16
there is two sides to this he can stay and get into the first team of rangers and earn a lot less or he can go to england get paid well for the next few years and get nowhere near the first team!

possibly loaned out to a league 1 or league 2 side and get lost in the bottom tiers of the english game or he could go down and be the brightest starlet out the lot and be a world beater although that is the less likely of the possibilities

31 Mar 2017 16:03:56
Codwaffle blueblood!? i'd rather he stays and goes onto be a star for us (ifs, buts and maybes) but he's a young boy who lives a stones throw from me so I wish him all the best! My point is about people saying going down south is to the detriment of his development but imo playing with better players and having better coaches around will benefit him! Sad times when all some people care about is making a couple of quid!

31 Mar 2017 23:06:44
He's only a child still n megabucks Chelsea will ruin him unless they offer him bk to yous for 3 years I can see this going same way as feruez

Reading the article in today's Scotsman about Caixhinho 'cracking the whip' in training sounds really encouraging. He looks the part, a bit fierce and he has cancelled the Wednesday day off that Warburton introduced. With a bit of momentum under Caixinho I really do think we can beat Celtic in the cup semi-final. Football is all about confidence and I think our new manager will have brought that back in abundance. Pedro!

30 Mar 2017 15:23:15
Only time will tell.

30 Mar 2017 22:16:21
Warburton didn't introduce the Wednesday off thing that's been the way for decades unless they have a game that night

31 Mar 2017 04:32:50
so far so good from el pedro, a don't really care if he had a wee affiliation with celtic, the past is in the past look at King Kenny

31 Mar 2017 15:50:45
Dodgier football is not just about confidence you really do need to have ability to go with that confidence Martin Waghorn will never have the ability to pick the ball up back to goal turn and drive forward or link up the play because he doesn't have the skill set to carry it out but he does have the confidence to stick a penalty away each week because that's his ability level.

Joe Garner will never have the ability to stay focused during a game and play as a team as his ability does not allow him to understand that there is no Eye in team but he has the confidence to run about kicking and assaulting opposition players and think that ok.

Barry McKay has ability but does not have the heart to use the gift he has and never will
So the point is that your assessment that Pedro will install confidence is lacking any real substance it's down to ability

Rangers supposobly accept offer of 350.000 from london club for gilmour.

30 Mar 2017 14:28:11
The report states that a fee has been agreed should the player agree to leave which he hasn't done yet. More scaremongering

30 Mar 2017 14:57:41
How's that scaremongering?

30 Mar 2017 20:25:25
Its scaremongering because every one in Scotland wants to see this boy leave us. Apart from Malky McKay that is.

31 Mar 2017 04:34:08
a don't think everyone does want to see him leave? everyone nah, I certainly don't.

and you don't and no one on this page does,

I guess outwith our club no one really cares?

Huddersfield Town have placed head of football operations Stuart Webber on garden leave amid reports linking him with the Rangers director of football position.

30 Mar 2017 13:21:18
Apparently wants the Norwich job. Ssn

31 Mar 2017 11:17:34
As son as Warbs, DW and Frank McP done the dirty, I signed Webber on FM17. Just saying
