Been told off a friend that knows dorrans family that supposedly Pena was over weight when he first came over here and Pedro told him too lose weight while he was away but he came back even heavier and unfit and this is why he hasn't played yet.

Not saying I believe this just passing on what I was told.

Think Pena is the type of Player who might be a wee bit mental :)
Heard he likes a nyt out and stuff BUT sometimes Players like that are guys whi have been born with natural ability but take it for granted (Gazza)
I AM NOT SAYING HE'S THE SAME!
But the type of Player who can have a bit of a late nyt then play a blinder next day.
Only thing I worry about are the media watching him and waiting!
Also he needs to watch who he hangs about with but I truly believe that Pena has bags of ability and Pedro must man Manage him properly and hope that his Team mates watch out for him.

There is obviously something not right he's not been seen on the park yet. Big Herrera looks over weight as well, but he seems to be working at shedding it. not sure Pena will work out.

It does seem very strange that Pena is supposedly our most expensive signing but we haven't really seen or heard much of him since he arrived

Pena WILL work out! Pedro will know how to manage him.
I really do think that the guy would prob be worth 2-3 times what we paid for him if he was a midel pro but he seems like he needs a certain type of Manager and Pedro would have definitely known this!
Yeah it might be a bit of a gamble but we would have never spent that amount just to now think ah the guys still a bit over weight hence he's a lost cause!
There are going to be lots of Vultures here how will try to get him in certain situations prob when out for a drink as we've been informed the big man likes a nyt out. But he will want to make this a success of course he will.
Think the Rangers Family may have to take care of this one and imo he has a lot to offer and will show everyone exactly what's in his locker soon enough.
Seems the type of guy that will feed of the love from the Support.
Need to get a good song for the big man, I really like him and I haven't even seen him yet :D

As a sports coach I have to say Pena does look rather over weight and after reading reviews of games he has played in from Mexico in he can be lazy, moody, and have a bad attitude . if I was moving to a new club and was told as you said he had to lose weight I would be busting a gut to impress . If he has been told this, not saying this is the case but certainly looks like it doesn't look good on him

Not making fun of what you said mate. Genuinely have heard a ton of rumours that supposedly came from Dorrans. Heard he said the new players were all shite, miller was leaving, he thought training was the worst he's ever experienced. Just seems since he signed every negative rumour supposedly comes from him which I find hard to believe.

I agree that it is strange he's not had much game time but the form of jack, dorrans, windass and krancjar has maybe stopped him getting in the team. he hasn't had much game time this year in mexico so it understandable he's short of fitness. he is maybe struggling a wee bit to settle in Glasgow as well.

Don't know enough to pass a solid opinion about Pena but am slightly concerned about how it's devoted so far. Just hoping it works out and Ped has a solid plan. I also think some of the gaff attributed to For fans might just be coming from the best fighters oops, fans in the world

Hopefully Pena gets his finger out and finds some form as heard he's on £30,000 a week! Don't think we can really afford to be paying that for someone who can't get a game!

REALLY! 30 GRAND! I'm not saying he's isn't but I am surprised its that high.
One of the reasons I thought we went into the Mexican market was because the Players were on affordable wages. I thought Pena would be on 15/ 17k wk.

Lucky if he on £10-£12k a week. Did we actually pay £2.8m for him. Based on what I'm hearing hope we have on a sale or return basis and if he does not get his finger out soon should be returned.

Only passing on what I heard guys. Rangers said to the work permit board he was a special player who was of high value, might just have been bigging him up to get the permit through. I hope he's not on 30k a week!

Walker is turning the screw on Cathro now. Boy and his dad have been after a move for some time now and the new Hearts contract has been on the table for some time now. The fact is that he doesn't want to stay on at Tynecastle so it's either cash in or lose out now for Levein and Cathro. This week surely.

I don't really see how the one of the youngest managers of a top tier side in football can be judged so harshly. He's 31 and learning his trade, it would have been a risk for anyone taking him on board, but the fact he is younger than 50% of our first team players means he has time on his side to grow and develop. If anything we should be viewing him as raw potential who, in a decade, could quite possibly be our manager. It has to stand for something when he brought through so of the most talented Scottish players plying their trade at the moment (Gauld/ Robertson/ Armstrong/ Souttar)

After the signing of Walker I think that may be it in terms of permanent signings.
I do however think that with 4 spots available for loans THIS will be the market we will be involved in before Window closes.
I don't know if our new DOF has been with us long enough to have had an effect on who we may be going in for.
I just hope that we can get somebody that could have the same impact as PR had at the Methadome.
There are some huge (Young) talent out there that due to the Club they are with are stuck in development football.
Hopefully we can do business with an Man. Utd or a Chelsea etc
