GOOD!

Agree0 Disagree0

Another one bites the dust.
Watch out Ally.

Agree0 Disagree2

Has he been working late it's good to see your keeping an eye on the hours they work

Agree0 Disagree0

He has left but no scandal, sure, anything you say CG.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers revenue streams for the first 3-4 years were known well in advance by all interested parties, the low turnover of 30 million and its subsequent losses cannot have come as a surprise to CG.

Since he cannot do much to reduce the fixed running costs, wages is the only area he can cut and the only revenue stream he can increase is season ticket prices.

I assume his plan is to do both for the next couple of years, and this plan is very high risk, it depends on the fans willingness to pay more to watch less quality.

If you increase prices by 25% and 25% buy less season tickets then you are no further forward. If fans are unhappy at the quality of unaffordable players then they are not going to be happy watching affordable players.

I am not so sure his business plan is going according to work, and maybe the model is just not commercially viable.

The Rangers story has a long way to go yet I fear, and it would not shock me to see another administration within the next 2 years.

I hope not.

Agree4 Disagree2

According to the tv he's still on some form of consultancy retainer role. Strange the rush to exit him though.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the best news I've heard in a long time.
We're needing boys from the 1st and second division on two year deals next year and wages no higher than 1k a week.

Goalkeeper Neil Alexander is expected to leave Rangers this summer after rejecting two offers to extend his contract.

Hearing he'd like to stay but stingey salary on offer.

Believable66 Unbelievable35

Re garding stingy salary let's wait and see where he goes and compare salaries before we comment

Agree0 Disagree0

Hearing its a £15m overrun this season and share issue got it through. Next season has to be won on 30-40% less player salaries, which still makes them highest paid in div2. But more difficult for Ally on cheaper players/ budget. There just isn't the money to bring in better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stingy salery offer wtf do u expect your team is loosing a fortune and is facing financial rewan and let's not forget your still in the 3rd devision no wonder your club is in the state it is in and was in before you went bust with people like you thinking you should all be on a fortune, quick qestion what is stingey and befor you answer remember other teams in that league hardly get paid two pee and before I get it stinking yes i'm a celtic fan but come on

wee darren

Agree0 Disagree0

I know the signings weren't great - but let's be realistic - who would have signed for Rangers for Div 3 wages - we were always going to get scre*ed by agents trying for a quick buck especially froma team which had next to no options available.
next season if its Div 2 - noone will sign for Div 2 wages either

get a grip

Agree1 Disagree0

Any offer for Alexander will always be to much not stingy. I make my judgment by watching him this season.

Get a grip? Check out the singings you have made that's costing you a fortune, not one of them is worth anymore than 200quid a week and is that not saying something (don't live beyond you're means) but guess what you are, and they players that are total gash are all on improved contracts so good luck next year, and your still going on about paying spl wages to other players you sign in the 2nd division. This is turning into a comedy show. wee darren

Agree0 Disagree0

The honeymoon period is over, CG cannot afford to pander to the fans anymore and its like it or lump it time.

CG does not believe 38,000 fans will swallow his season ticket hike and he is battening down the hatches for the storm brewing.

The voyage to the SPL is in a ship that is leaking money like a sieve, it may sink before it gets to port. again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever the offer is then I doubt it means he has to sell his car and house like it says in the papers. If he has to do that then how much did he borrow! Time for CG to show people "we are all in this together" methinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone coming to play should realise where the wages should be in conjunction with our current situation, offer reasonable salaries (by lower league standards, not current SPL standards) but load contracts with incentives for good cup runs, league win and wage boost upon returning to the top flight. If that doesn't attract half decent players tell them to ram and play with who we can get who is interested in the club and not money. I'd rather struggle through lower leagues with fairly paid dross and a steady ship than power up the divisions and wind up in the SPL riddled with debts for the likes of Alexander, Black, Sandaza, Kyle etc who are dross anyway!

Agree1 Disagree0

Should any footballer at Rangers be on more than 2k per week?

Scottish football needs to get back to reality, and Rangers could lead the way.

Agree0 Disagree1

Theres a few people on here that needs to get a grip, last season if the best players from every other team were brought together they still would not have been good enough to take on the old firm, if we start signing even first div players and paying even first div wages we will end up with a first div squad and will never get back to where we should be or it will cost a fortune to put a team on the park capable of staying in the top league. We must support our team and we must buy season tickets and we must invest in our team now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go - he's been dreadful this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Dreadful?! He has 20 shutouts in over 40 matches with one of the worst Rangers defences in recent memory! In my opinion he is deserving of a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a disgrace the amount of abuse Alexander is getting from his own fans. One of the true pros left in the squad. He's been (you could argue) 2nd or 3rd best keeper in Scotland for years. Disgrace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alexander was paid 12k a week for 3 years and played 20 games, that works out at 1k per minute. No wonder we went bust.

How good a GK do we need against div 3-2-1 opponents?

Stick Ally in goals and we would still win div2, it would keep him away from team tactics.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alexander in my mind is a legend. look how he played fur us in the UEFA cup in 2008. hope he does stay. Del Boy. WDDWA! (ps ed. u never print ma posts! wits going on?!?)

would like to see rangers get a right back two center backs two center mids and two strikers got told bells already signed a pre contract is that correct and whos would we like to see fill these positions?

Believable34 Unbelievable35

I personally would like Law, McGowan, Daly, and a quick striker. However we are all forgetting that Bocanegra and Goian return next year. Goian is rubbish but Bocanegra is still far above this class of football.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Apr 2013 08:50:24
I would like Higdon, Boyd, Humphrys, Hateley, Law, Danny Wilson, Thomson. If we could get that we should try and let go of Black, Sandazza, Emilson, Perry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold your horses guys!
by all reports we are currently losing anything up to 1mil per month! - where you going to get the wages for these guys - they will not sign for 2nd or 3rd div wages & will ask for at least double what they are currently on.
I'm sure the ones we would like to let go signed contracts for more than 1 season & we've been handing out extended/improved contracts like 18th birthday presents for all the 'boy's - - so why would they go anywhere to free up cash?

only asking/

Agree2 Disagree0

Id like to see boca and goian back in there, with sandaza, perry, black and alexander out. Maybe lose arygiou and faure as well.

Apart from the two above, cammy bell in to replace alexander. Need some young up and coming youngsters from abroad, look at sweden/denmark etc for this, should be able to attract decent players from there on low wages/small fee. Lb as cover, rb, cm and a striker.

WATP

Agree0 Disagree1

Im sure I read goian say he was retiring ime sure I read that a couple of months ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah goian said that b4 the new year but i'm sure if he's caught any games of late he'll be more confident about his ability to play at this level!

WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget who you would like and focus on who you can afford, they are on two different planets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I the only who thinks WATP is best left unsaid at the moment, it reminds me of Leeds fans chanting " We are Leeds " languishing in division 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last comment about watp. Why should we hide who we are? U sound like one of these 'fans' who doesn't even attend the games. U want to pretend to be something else until we are at the top again?

WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

WATP,

May I suggest it is you who is ignoring reality and pretending to be something you are not. My self esteem is not based on my attachment to a football team, however I accept some people's status is linked to their team, in this context you should be chanting we were the people since the club was liquidated, debt ridden and now plays in div 3.
WATP deals with the past, and I suggest you live in the present where your team resides.

We are not losing £1m a month. The real amount is much less. £3m was spent on repairs, £1. 5 on legal representation, £1m on getting investors on board. Probably losing £200k a month just now BUT revenue streams coming on board all the time.

Don't believe the haters

Red CA

Agree0 Disagree0

Revenue streams coming on board all the time, the season is effectively over and season ticket sales for SFL div2 are 5 months away?

Agree0 Disagree0

In other words we need a whole new team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good God! If you believe we are "only losing " 200K a month you are living on cloud cukoo land. All these new players will cost a fortune. We will end up on the rocky financial road once again! No doubts. We need to live within our means- something WE ARE NOT DOING AT PRESENT!

Agree0 Disagree0

The projected OPERATING loss for this season was 3.5 million on a 30 million turnover. Inherited first team payroll at 7.5 million will be cut to 6 million before next season, plus another 2 million in ticket sales due to 20% increase ( assuming 100% renew).

IN THEORY RANGERS COULD BREAK EVEN NEXT YEAR ON A TURNOVER OF 32 MILLION WITH 6 MILLION FIRST TEAM PAYROLL.

What is interesting is the operating costs of Rangers without first team payroll @ 26 million, there is nothing that can be done to reduce this figure.

If the fans do not renew in the same numbers then the club will be back in the red equivalent to the drop in sales.

Tickets to go up the following year by 15 % and the same profit-loss equation applies.

If ticket sales do not meet projections then Rangers will go into the SPL with a 6 million first team payroll, there is no other way of slicing or dicing it.

The future profit projections rely heavily on very low wages, very loyal fans and 10 million in new revenue streams associated with the SPL ( bigger crowds, tv, advertising, sponsorship and prize money)
Worst scenario is Rangers loses about 10 million in the lower divisions and makes it up in the SPL albeit with a 6 million first team squad.

I think the quality of football and fan loyalty is the elephant in the room, but it might just work.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate to break this to Rangers fans but CG can make 10 million per year in the SPL as the 2nd best team in Scotland.

His ambitions are financial, he may not be interested in chasing Celtic, it would cost too much, Celtics first team wage bill is approx 20 million, that is a lot of money to invest for first choice in the CL.

He will sell at the end of the first SPL year and get maybe 35 million. Not bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see Mckay Steven at rangers he would be a good winger
