Rangers chief scout Neil Murray has reportedly been suspended by the club pending a investigation into last summers transfers at ibrox. The Scotsman

I think a mass clearout is in the early stages and reckon McCoist will be looking over his shoulder for the incoming axe. Hopefully a fresh direction off the feild under brian Laudrup will improve the on field misery which McCoists tenure has brought us.
For the people saying Brian Laudrup to take over I get he was a wonderful player like his brother but could Brian take to management like his brother?
We should look for an experienced manager like the Terry Butchers and Billy Davies of the game and not look to former great players that have no experience in management to take the club forward

I personally think that McCoist is doing an ok job because no one knew that the lower leagues would be this physical and so he brought in SPL players instead of players who knew what the lower leagues where like. If he is axed he should become an ambassador and Brian Laudrup should take the reins and hopefully transform Rangers into a Swansea esque type of football like his brother did.
Where is brian laudrup coming from?

It is Sir David Murray who should be appearing in court. To answer the questions?
How could Walter Smith etc back McCoist to become manager?
A whole sale clear out is needed at Ibrox.
Lawrence Marlborough should never have sold the club.
The Lawrence family cared about the club and not just about success on the park'
We have all been let down very badly, I would love to live long enough to see us as Scottish Champions again but I doubt it and I am only 57.
I used to turn up at Ibrox in the late 1970's when attendance's were less than 10'000 but we were Rangers through and through.
This is like a Shakespearian tragedy unfolding.
I apologise for rambling but this is the effect this is having on life long fanatics!!
Charles Green has been quoted in the past that scandanavian football models would be the direction Rangers could follow with regards to wage budgets, youth development and solid structures on an off the park. I think if that is the case Brian Laudrup would be a good option all things considered. Think the Billy Davies ship has sailed for at least now but you never know.
To the guy who says he doesn't think he will live to see rangers champions again should be ashamed we will be champions within 4 to 5 years worst case scenario we will come back stronger and all the doubters will eat humble pie
Not replying to original post but to one on the replies. You are asking for DM to be in court to answer questions, I believe DM made numerous mistakes but with the bank insisting on a sale he had no choice.
Why would WS not back Ally, he groomed him, what are you talking about.
You then go onto say that LM should not have sold. He too had no choice, he was involved in a property deal in USA that lost fortune. He was desperate to get rid. You also forget the years when there were 8000 people at home games, for a number of years that was the case, we were going nowhere under LM. You want to get back to crowds of under 10000 because we were Rangers through and through. You mean the nonsense of where you went to school or church. You say you are 57, you sound like somebody from the 17th century.
At least you have the good grace to apologise for your ramblings, and ramblings they certainly are.
If Ally gets that 25yr contract from The Chuckmeister I very much doubt you'll see a championship winning team in the next 4/5yrs. No money No talent No chance!
DM's appalling stewardship/ management of the club and his companies is the root of all problems.
Don't blame bank for wanting to sell. Banks have tax paying depositors and deserve their money back. Murray should never have borrowed those sums of money. Murray was an incompetent owner who bankrupted the club to feed his ego with fans adulation.
Apparently the debts at Rangers were a trifle compared to those being managed at Murray Group.
I think this is the beginning of the end for Ally, he will resign over the Neil Murray situation citing that his plans for the future are in turmoil and feels he cannot continue without Murray as they had a gameplan. This will allow him to leave under his own accord and alleviate any mudslinging or bad blood. Seems to me that Murrays been found out and the rumours about brown envelopes for dud players and agents kickbacks could be now coming to light, if this is the case, better to have the cull now, let Ally win the title and be remembered for leading the club through the most difficult time in our history and winning the title (albeit the 3rd division) and leaving with his head held high, time for change. WATP
To the 5th post smith knocked the job back and advised ALLY not to take the job
The banks had loaned too much money to SDM, no more money was available to him and he could not finance any more losses.
SDM and the banks knew Rangers lost money if they did not have European success, both were unwilling to gamble any further with Rangers potential losses.
Was it reckless borrowing in the first place?
Not if you are his bank manager, the bank never lost a dime.
Winning the 3rd Division is hardly a surprise and was the very least Ally had to deliver this season, what about all the hype about being contenders for a cup? having assembled a squad capable of playing in the SPL? Sorry but Ally has been a failure this season, SFL 3 Champions or not.
To the guy who says, "To the guy who says he doesn't think he will live to see rangers champions again should be ashamed we will be champions within 4 to 5 years worst case scenario we will come back stronger and all the doubters will eat humble pie. "
I would love for someone who believes the "come back stronger" mantra to explain why they think this to be true. Look at the facts. Nothing I can see points to this being the case in a long, long time.

The fact is Celtic will be out of sight in both financial and football terms by the time Rangers return to the SPL.
How do Rangers expect to make up this massive shortfall, because I cannot see how this is possible.
The club's potential profits are high risk and do not justify the level of investment needed to catch up with Celtic, it may take a decade.
