Its being reported on Toffeeweb.com that a 6 mil offer has been accepted by Rangers from Everton for Jelavic. 3.5 mil up front and the rest in installments. Before u all jump down my throat I know a 7 mil bid has already been thrown out but I think the reason this offer is more attractive to Mr Whyte is the fact that uz are gettin over half the fee rite away. Check it out for urselves.

If Jelavic stays to the end of the season, maybe ends up scoring about 30 goals. Could his value, currently around £8 million or whatever Rangers want, go up?
Just saying because I would love him to stay to the Summer,
then if we sell him for £10 million or close to it, then qualify for the Champions League and get £15 million.
Thats £25 million, half of any £50 million tax bill paid!
Believable6

We won't qualify for the Champions League because if we finish second we will come up against a Chelsea or an Arsenal or a Villareal or a Marseille etc.

Even if jealvic is sold for say £7/8m the money will not be paid in full before tuesday deadline .tops it will be £3/4m and the rest paid up over agreed time
Agree5

Nothing Jelavic does in the SPL will increase his value. Max value on a SPL player these days is about 2-4 mil. He has intrinsic value above this because he is a Croatian international and because he has scored in Euro competitions. If we want his value to go up then we need to wait until Euros. This is a gamble, if he doesn't get a game, or doesn't do much, people will say he only looks good in SPL. We would struggle to get our 4mil back. If he does very well, we would need to cash in straight away (think Bougey).

£3.5 up front with the rest to follow. Not good business.20% Vat(700k)10% to Jelly(350k).Final instalment to Vienna(420k and it appears this has been confirmed from Austria).Add on agents fees etc, we'll be lucky to come away with £2m.

Yeah saw your snidey comment on our page, you play in a two horse race league, we dont want beckford back either so be quite and everton have a better history than you so be quite
Agree4
Disagree13
Would not say a better team than everton are deserving of him, dont big yourselves up that much, and a lot of us evertonians dont agree with the few who moan for lost players, reason they gone is between them and the manager, beckford must of give him reason, i even chuckle at them. we need a goal scorer, i dont know anything about him but i dont llike the sounds banging from the drums, maybe he prove us all wrong, maybe were throwing away money we dont have to a team in the same possition as us, we will see....but a better team than everton, look into english football history, not many better than us, just having a bad time with the board and debt
Agree2
Disagree5
Find it strange why they got rid of beckford in first place! jelavic would do a job there,no doubt about it. would love rangers to go for lewis mcgugan from notts forest but its freebies that we need and he would be cash up front.this boy is sum talent and forest desperately need cash,as bad as us!!

Agree3

No easy amswer to this question. You could read on this subject on the net for the next six months and still come out confused. I think Craig Whyte is just a cover story for someone else (could be David Murray or another unknown) as should he fail to keep the club afloat for 90 days after the result of the EBT Tax case, then Murray can cancel the whole deal. This is the basis of the agreement as I understand it. It is also possible that Lloyds/Bank of Scotland are first in line to be paid there £18m as there is no proof that Whyte has actually cleared/transfered the date. Some of the details of the agreement to sell Rangers can be found on line with details explaining this, but I suspect there are a whole lot more documents not in the public domain. This is either very clever or very stupid by DM

£26m mate. £14m in the accounts for y/e 31/06/11. Experts who have looked at the accounts and believe there is a further £8m owed to creditors. £3.5m from the Wee Tax Case and £0.5m that Bain has ringfenced.

The 19 MILLION debt was taken over by Whytes holding company making him major creditor and as the law has changed taxman last to get his ££ all other creditors have to be paid first at a rate set by the major creditor which can range from £0.001 in the £ to £1 in the £ (easy money swallow the £19 million loss feck the taxman and youve got a debt free club that investors like say SDM will only be glad to help in their time of need. Personally, I'd like to see us get rid of him but not now with the closing of the transfer window a whisper away. We needed at least 3 new FW signings even if Jelavic stayed but that's not going to happen and if he does go now we're screwed for a replacement nevermind the much needed reinforcements. So, for that reason alone I hope he stays but other than that I'd have been more than happy for him to go.

Jst got told that everton have made an official bid for jelavic. Not a nonsense post, this is the truth and my friend is in the know. He's a writer for a well known newspaper. Thought they were skint but he also mentioned they were trying to get kevin Doyle(wolves). Neither will b cheap. I really want this jelavic transfer nonsense sorted one way or another so if he is def leaving we have a chance of bringing players in.

Well said Ed.
5million plus Piquionne is what a lot of people were saying but how on earth could Piquionne be included as part of the deal?
There is no way Rangers could afford to pay his 40k a week wages even if they got rid of Jelavic. Spin from both sides I think.
If Jelavic leaves it will be for around 5 million because noone wants to pay more than that for him.

can anyone answer these questions PLEASE:
Have West ham put in an improved offer?
Is Hamdi Salihi still a target is Jela leaves or is it true he is at the chinese club?
Are Raped still entitled to a share of the Jela money?
Realistically what can we expect to happen over the next 2 days?
If anyone can answer anything please post!
Believable5

As far as I know, West Ham have not improved their offer, Salihi's future has not been finalized but it won't be with Rangers and Rangers never owed Rapid a cut or sell on etc for Jelavic. Realistically, nothing unless we get rid of 2 players to free up wages for a loan signing or for a trialist.

Salihi has gone to china (although he does not seem entirely happy about it). Rapid are entitled to 20% of the fee for jelavic as they have a sell on clause. Rangers should stop about with loans and trials, if Ally sees a player he wants, then Whyte should sanction the deal, other clubs just get things done, Whyte f***s about , if its money for wages needed, the release and free players that you dont need if you cant sell, just pay up their contracts and shift them, the money is there, just make it available ffs, its a joke and embarressing now
Believable8

Money is there, when did this happen. We have no money, I hate saying it but that much is obvious.
Agree7

You cant just release players on frees like in the old championship manager games. if you want to terminate a contract you have to pay the wages that player was due until the end of the contract as a lump sum.
The money isn't there, he cant sanction anything because he cant afford it. Very straightforward.
Agree8
Disagree1
I totally agree. If Ally wants a player then buy him. Stop this trialist rubbish. The reason he is giving trials is because the guys he is bringing in are no name players who couldn't cut it at no name clubs. There is a wealth of young players at murrypark. If we have no money then make proper use of murrypark and start producing our own players. They cant be any worse than buying foreign duds.

Celtic fan here and again i find myself agreeing with a poster here, the young lads who have been put together over the last 3 or 4 years must be better/ have better potential than the nobodys who are being brought in on trial.

The 29-year-old has made just seven starts for the Scottish champions since he completed his summer switch.
His lack of involvement in Ally McCoist's team has ignited interest in his services - the latest being from the Ukrainian side who are now managed by Juande Ramos.

Albanian striker Hamdi Salihi will be moving to China. The Rapid Vienna striker has received an offer that he couldn't refuse from Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai FC.
Rapid will get 450.000 for the striker, whose contract expires at the end of the season. The player himself will earn about the same amount every year, for three years.
Talking for the Austrian media, Salihi seemed happy with the contract terms, but not very excited about moving to China. The 28 year old Albanian was hoping to move to one of the top leagues in Europe, as teams from France, Germany and Scotland had expressed interest.
However no official offers came to Rapid Vienna, so the striker was left with no other options as he's pushed out of first team football at his Austrian club.
Changchun Yatai is currently 7th in the Chinese Super League.
The Albanian international has scored 36 goals in 69 games for Rapid. He also has 9 goals in 37 games for the Albanian National Team.

Norwich fan here. Would someone please tell me why Grant Holt would drop down to play for Rangers?! Even a bid of 5m still needs the player to actually want to go.
(And you think Lambert wants to help Rangers win the league?!)
