Share movement in Rangers today 98,000 who is buying or selling?
Somebody must have got 3 numbers on the lotto last night!
Hopefully Jim mccoll and blue knights. don't understand why rangers fighting fund don't have a go at buying as many shares as they can get their hands on to put the club in a stable position. if it was done correctly in sure it could raise £15 -£20 million to put the supporters in a position of majority shareholder.
The thing is some of the small buys are being used to drive the price up, but to what point before there is a sell off someone is trying to make money quickly and offload their shares.
That's a good point by letter number two, concerning the fighting fund being used to buy shares, if what you are saying Ed that the share price will be driven up, why not buy now and if necessary sell to the tight buyer in the future, or am I being to simplistic? {Ed001's Note - I can't see any reason to not do that mate. The longer you wait, the worse things could get, if the wrong person has the shares instead of the fans.}
Buying shares might put the share price up but it won't necessarily change the price you can offload a large volume of shares at. You can only sell a large quantity of shares if somebody is willing to buy them, at a price they are willing to pay. Thus the big drop in the price a couple of weeks back when the large (million+) share trades were going on. If anyone put in an order to sell a few million shares tomorrow, the price would drop sharply to the price at which somebody would be willing to pay (30p or so I'd guess maybe). Won't matter if the 'price' today was few p higher cause of some relatively small buy orders this week. {Ed001's Note - yes, but if it was known there were a fan group buying up shares, the remainder available shares to buy would rise in price immediately.}

According to the BBC might have been the Easdales who now own 10% as they've bought Charles Greens shares.
