The Welshman has yet to decide where his future lies, and that s why the Seasiders are hopeful that one last effort could change Vaughan s mind.

The Gazette understands an improved offer will be put on the table within days.

Even so, Pool know they face an uphill battle to keep Vaughan.

He has plenty of options, with Glasgow Rangers, West Brom and Everton all monitoring the situation, along with Sunderland, and Stoke the latest club to be linked with the 28-year-old.

All those clubs can offer top-flight football and Vaughan is unlikely to want to drop back down to the Championship whatever Pool offer.

I hear from a good source in Spain that Glasgow Rangers will try to sign Andr s Guardado from Deportivo La Coru a this Summer. I do not know anymore details, I believe he will cost alot, possibly too much for Rangers, but who knows. Guardado can play anywhere on the left, he is very fast and skillful and puts in very hard shifts for Deportivo. This would be an excellent signing and would signal our inentions to succeed in Europe.

I think Deportivo got relegated, so maybe they will wanna trim the wage bill and sell players like guardado on the cheap, really hope this is a real rumour cuase the boy sure is class! !

The rumour about Jano Ananidze signing for Rangers is complete nonsense. The Georgian is rated as one of the best young talents in Europe. The Spartak Chairman has stated that they won't listen to offers until he is atleast in his 20's. However, Arsenal and Liverpool have supposedly made enquiries. This would be, if it ever did happen, up there with the Gazza and Laudrup transfer coups.

Some names I have heard linked to Rangers, like Sol Campbell, why would Rangers sign him, he is way past his best, and frankly, is dump!
Also Alexei Eremenko, on loan at Killie last year. He is definitely not good enough for Rangers. He played 31 times in the league for them last year and scored 4 goals, this is nowhere good enough for Rangers being title contenders every year, when we have the likes of Stevie Naismith and Kyle Lafferty scoring 10 + goals a season each.

i agree with you about sol campbell but eremenko is a completely different player to big laff or naisy so why compare them. they could all play in the same team. just like saying they both score more than davis so why have davis in the team

McCoist has very good links to the English leagues, because of his playing days with Sunderland, and also because of his work with 'A Question of Sport', and will look to take advantage of that and bring in some players from the English leagues, as well as from the SPL and other European leagues.

Possible signings in the summer:
David Goodwillie - Dundee United
Craig Conway - Dundee United
Lewis Mcgugan - Nottingham Forest
David Vaughan - Blackpool
John Mensah - Lyon (was on loan at Sunderland)

Rangers also need a new centre back as well as the possibility of signing John Mensah;

Roger Johnson - Birmingham City
Eggert Jonsson - Hearts
James Tomkins - West Ham United

Mccoist went for a weeks holiday adter returning from charity event in Colorado he advised Rangers money men that he wanted to move for Vaughan and Goodwillie while away to avoid losing out. Vaughan is going through formalities while Goodwillies agent has been advised that McCoist is hoping to conclude the deal on his return next week

Personally, I wouldn't like to see him at Rangers regardless of him being an Ex-Hoops Player. Whilst at Celtic he was always one of those players whom I dreading getting the ball when he was playing against us. .but like the rest of the Old Firm players that went to Boro they didn't really perform. Albeit Thomson had a bad injury but I don't think he'd do much for us anyway.

Rangers are chasing two centre backs as their main priority with strong links that Kyle Bartley will join for another year loan!
John Mensah has been touted to be on his way to Ibrox for around the 1million mark as French cracks Lyon reckon there is no future for him at the club and he is also injury prone! However, when he does stay fit he is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world!
