Trusted sources have confirmed that Commons will come to Rangers for the fee accrued for Kenny Miller and the £21/22,000 per week contract that Miller was paid per week will be put towards wages for Commons, at around the £14,000 mark, with the remaining £6/7,000 being put towards bringing in a defender on loan.

Commons deal has hit a snag. He was set to sign, but got offered £18k a week from 'elsewhere' and Rangers won't increase on £14k.

Doesn't mean the deal is dead, but if we've learned anything with Miller, Boyd etc, it's that money talks.

It Is More likely That bougherra will leave. I Mean why would walter say he is looking for a defender if he already has a good defence with davie weir and bougherra? obv walter is planning ahead, just incase madjid is a target by premier league clubs(More likely Arsenal).

RangersMedia understands tonight that Rangers have signed Kris Commons and will be able to play him as early as tomorrow night against Hibs, barring any last minute hitches to the deal.

Trusted sources have confirmed that Commons will come to Rangers for the fee accrued for Kenny Miller and the £21/22,000 per week contract that Miller was paid per week will be put towards wages for Commons, at around the £14,000 mark, with the remaining £6/7,000 being put towards bringing in a defender on loan.

Speaking to the assembled press pack today, Walter Smith did confirm Rangers' interest in bringing Kris Commons to the club, however he would not go as far as to say whether that would be before the end of the month or on a pre-contract at the end of the season.

To the earlier post k miller was offered 25 k the day before he signed for the Turks , fact!
Commons will be offered in the region of 18k , he sees rangers as a move up from derby .
The hmrc issue will not be resolved for years and if we go down so does half of the premiership , Portsmouth already won their case on a similar matter .
And I think the defender will be Herman heirdersan from Pompey , not too chuffed about that one

Id just like to ask all bears to ignore stupid made up posts like this. We already know about the commons deal, and ive been harping on about how boyd won't be welcome back for quite some time. This is clearly one of them from the dark side using facts so made up BS can be added in an attempt to make it look even close to being informed. Truth is, a handful of people know whats going on with the takeover, and know one will speak about it until its collapsed or gone through, making any information regarding the developments would ruin any chance of it happening. Due dillegence ensures both parties remain silent during the takeover. The tax thing? Same again, no one knows. No offer was made by the club to hmrc as some are suggesting, who would leak that? HMRC lawyers? Aye, ok. Admin?? Never ever happen. Ever. Im not sayin the take over will defo happen, all im saying is we won't know til its done, one way or another. Dont listen to these clowns that, truth be told, are just wondering why their club hasnt attepted to bury us when we're down. Face it bears, it doesn't get much worse than the mess we are in just now, wheres our 5th place finish? Wheres our lou macari or liam brady? It kills them that even in ournhours of darkness, we're still welcoming the chase.

I believe Rangers actually recieve 20 % of the transfer of Charlie Adam, which is great for the club and is funding the Permanent transfer of Kris COmmons.

On a Rangers website this was discussed in full and Derek Johnston confirmed the 20 % he believes on radio last night! {ed's note - 20% of the money received over the £500k original sale price is my belief.}

Also this was on sky sports news last week they had a rep from hmrc saying all big clubs have used this loophole and they will check all clubs involved. The loophole has cost the goverment millions and are looking to stop it. Its just been blown out of proportion by the media who have nothing else to write about and since most of the media are left peggers i.e. mark "i don't hate rangers i just dislike them" guidi and hugh"jock stien dying was a bigger blow to scottish football than the ibrox disaster" keevins, greame "i claim to be a rangers fan but i am not really"spiers

Walter Smith has confirmed that Rangers are in talks to sign Derby County and Scotland winger Kris Commons.

Rangers have made an approach to Derby County about Kris Commons. The Scotland international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is a transfer target for Walter Smith and the Ibrox boss wants to add the player to his squad this month.

Smith confirmed at a press conference on Tuesday that talks had begun with Derby County over the winger and said that Rangers chief executive Martin Bain was currently in discussions with the Championship club.
