One defender and one attacker will join on loan, with another attacker signing on a permanent basis.

actually if you had the brain to look up on some info you would know rangers ARE Looking at bringing Nacho novo back on loan since he hates being back in spain, and talking to walter and some of his old team mates keeps him from going ''insane'' sometimes. Tim Matavz - Just another Filip Sebo.
Maybe some truth in Evans or possibly a long shot at Michael Owen - although i and most bears doubt Owen i heard that he has only 6 months in his contract and in order to gain an extension must prove his worth to Sir Alex.
Walter himself said 2 loan deals are what he is looking at, so this talk of "new funds" being available due to the takeover happening next week is hard to believe. And he said it's a defender and a striker he is looking at, so these people saying Boyd and Novo and simply living in the past. Both would NOT make Rangers a better team, Novo - as much as the commitment is there i believe the talent is not. Walter himself would know that youth and the future is where the success of rangers lies. Boyd -as much as he scored goals much of his success was beside Kenny Miller who has just parted company with Rangers. Plus Boyd was a lackadaisical and lazy player who rarely seemed interested in Rangers even after being told by a LEGEND in Ally McCoist how to better his game, who's advice he seemingly disregarded.
Walter is shrewd in the market and buying BWP would be a waste of money in my opinion and i hope in his opinion. I believe he (Walter) will look to the EPL for his loan signings, so look down there at the likes of Jason Roberts, and other fringe strikers. Defence wise i don't know where he will look, however i would like to see someone like Berra.

ok i for one don't want boyd back but would take nacho back in a heart beat he was one of the true rangers players that has love for the club aswell as prso and gattusso. .
if you read articles and am sure i can get links for u if needed. . nacho novo still is in contact with walter as his current team sportin gijon (spellin) are not doin so well in la liga so he has said walter is his agony uncle so in my books if walter asked for him to cum back on loan he would jump at the chance and the true rangers fans would love him to cum back.

To the guy that says i mentioned walter took fough, hately and steven back, what are you thick or what? I was making a point that he DOES take players back, as it was mentioned in a previous post that he usually doesnt. I was mearly pointin out that it has happened before, why couldnt you understand that?
For the record, as far as this bear is concerned kris boyd can stay well away from ibrox. Anyone that actually goes to the games will tell you boyd is a nightmare to watch, his attitude stinks, and all round hes crap. I reckon he probably scored 10 goals in the whole of 2010, this is just a guess mind u but i doubt its much more than that. I don't really want novo back, but rather him than boyd.
Ed, you any idea whats goin on with bradley wright phillips, david goodwillie, or tim matavz? The matavz one just doesn't want to go away, i can't see the goodwillie one being true to be honest, why sign someone that might end up playing with mean machine in barlinnie? {ed's note - I was told that Goodwillie would have been playing for you but for the allegations, which is why Smith is looking elsewhere now. BWP is just a cheap back up option from a team desperate for money, but Matavz is the main target is the info I got given. But I am finding it a little difficult to believe as this Matavz has been linked with all the top clubs around Europe, the likes of Juve have been keeping tabs on him for a while now. Seems strange that they would consider loaning him out if he is that good, surely he would be a first team regular for Groningen at 22 if he was so good?}

Groningen FC director Hans Nijland doesn't want to confirm or deny an official bid has been placed on Tim Matavz. Said it on Dutch television. It can easily be interpreted that an official bid has been offered because he normally is very quick to deny these kind of rumours.

We are a fan site for Groningen FC and we know about the interest of Rangers for Slovenian striker Tim Matavz. But we like to clarify some of the comments on your rumour page.
Matavz will only be sold and won't go out on loan to Rangers, as someone mentioned.
Someone said as he was linked to Newcastle and Juventus as well and that we're desperate to sell him, but this is not true at all. His contract runs to the summer of 2013, which means a buying club needs to pay serious money. We don't need to sell at the moment as Groningen FC is only one of the four or five clubs in the Dutch league that is healthy when the finances are concerned.
He is also been linked to other Italian clubs Palermo and Lazio Roma and Matavz himself has often said he wants to continue his career in Italy.
Lastly, someone said the Dutch newspapers are full with news covering this, but that is absolutely not true. There is very little news on him the past few days.
However, if you will sign him, you're getting a real striker. He's always looking to score goals, lethal in the box. It wouldn't be a bad choice to get him, though I hope you'll come back in summer and don't buy him in the winter window.
