Glasgow Rangers to sign Sligo Rovers F.C. Striker Eoin Doyle. The Top Marksman in the Irish League is on the brink of smashing Sligo Rovers 75 Year Goal Scoring Record. Doyle's strike last Monday night was enough to knock Europa Leagues Shamrock Rovers F.C. out of the FAI Cup.

Didnt know we were in for Doyle. Heard a number of clubs are watching with interest.

Anyone know what the standard in the Irish League is? Is it SPL level?

Aston Villa paid for £250,000 for Shamrock Rovers full back Enda Stevens recently. That might be a guide to the type of money involved perhaps...

Not SPL level ye mate but give it a couple of years because were heading back the way. Probably the equivelant of our 1st division at the moment. Some cracking players have come through the Irish league though.

We need to start qualifying for European football again, starting next season. This cant go on..

Why do people insist on asking people to name their source?
If they have a source and name them
A) they may never be given info again
B) Will be subject to being called Timothy/liar/BSer
C) Told by a mate of a mate of a mate and read point A and B again...

It's a no win for everyone!

Over the last few years we have seen quite a bit of premiership class players come from the Irish league
kevin Doyle
Shamus Coleman
Shane Long
All brought to England for very small fees. The talents out there

Celtic are now picking up a lot of Irish talent at a young age.

Theres a host of talent in irish football we should be looking at these types of leagues all over the planet as we dont have the coin to get players from lower leagues in england etc

We would need some Scouting Network to be first to snap up top players operating in lower leagues around the world. I know that clubs in the USA are very strong on analyzing Video Footage of potential signings. Time for a transformational change in our Scouting methods?

Hello all. Just a whisper i've heard from a mate of a mate so don't shoot me down in flames, i dont know if its true or not but i've heard Whyte doesn't and never did want Ally as manager. Despite keeping up appearances and public statements to contrary it is believed the two dont see eye to eye and Whyte is looking to replace him in January with Bob Bradley and also looking to sign Bradley junior as part of the deal. This is apparently some masterplan dreampt up by Whyte to add more weight to his negotiations with Fox. Apparently last nights result has done Ally no favours at all. As i said just a rumour but i hope to f*** it not true.

I don't think so mate. Its a fare statement but if whyte wanted Mc Coist out I would think he would have brin by now. If anything was to happen I would think we would have heard somthing by now. Ger4life

Bob Bradley just been made Egypt manager

Bob Bradley is indeed the new Egypt manager but January is a long way away. Contracts count for nowt these days. Could easily still switch to Rangers.

This rumour along with almost every other ex-Ranger and anyone who's ever held a maagerial post in the last 30 years has been batted about now... Give it a rest!

Heard a similar thing, but not the Bradley thing. Heard that it was to be Wilkins or Davies depending on results up to xmas. Whyte couldn't get rid from the off as he came in under a cloud, and Ally is club legend. I hope we still maintain league position, then everyone is a winner, as cant be sacked if successful, meaning everyone happy, and we can continue to welcome the chase!!!

I believe he used his legs and feet, he has two of them.

He played well, he got really stuck in and involved. Had alot of touches but think he still needs time to settle in and get used to the physical side of Scottish football, he's a very good young player though.

No I was at the game, he did not play well, looked lost and got caught out of position a few times, He did not make himself available for a pass and hid for time he was on the park.

It was a bad team performance to form a judgement need to give the guy time

Early days,but wasnt impressed by him at all.but as i said.early days
