Rangers have seemingly lined up 2 friendlies against english opposition in our forthcoming pre season preparations, the 2 clubs are supposedly tottenham who could be the english premiership champions by then and leeds utd of the championship, both games will be at ibrox I've heard, hope this is true as it'll be 2 good games.

Not a popular comment I wouldn't imagine but I'd rather be in the tournament that Celtic, Barcelona and CO are involved in. Hopefully as of next season and onwards we can start to repair out European reputation.

Not a popular comment you say mate, we're going to north america pre season and possibly playing 2 english clubs spurs and leeds, remember we're on the road to full recovery and bigger things will present themselves to us when we are back in the big league next year, I for one would be delighted to play these 2 big english clubs who we've had close links with over the years.

I meant what I wrote wouldn't be popular. The friendlies you mentioned are are good it's just not got the prestige or financial reward that the tournament has.

The 2 centre mids will be James morrison and crooks watch this space.

22 Mar 2016 19:59:40
We already have Crooks signed up. We never play with 2 dedicated centre mids. If as you say is true what happens with Halliday, Holt and also potentially Shiels and Law.

Couple the above with the fact Morrison is on a decent amount that I doubt we can afford in terms of a wage I really can't see it.

I like Morrison as a player so I hope I am wrong but I just don't see it.

22 Mar 2016 20:17:54
Shiels and law will be gone. Haliday will get replaced.

22 Mar 2016 20:42:06
I think Morrison is exactly the type of player we should be going for. Wealth of top level experience. If we want to be ready for challenging for the title and Europe we will need to spend that type of cash on wages, no question. Him and a striker of that quality would do me along with a few younger players to fight for a place in the team along with Windass and Crooks.

22 Mar 2016 22:38:55
Recbob we are talking 45k a week, really think he'll drop to even a minimum of 15k-20k? I'd rather get 4 younger lads from league 1 or 2 possibly the championship and pay them 5k each.

22 Mar 2016 23:36:51
Nonsense, never pay the wages that would land morrison and Warburton has always played 4-3-3 his from his first day in management, he has the entire youth academy playing it so young players can integrate into the first team easier. None of this is hard to find information.

23 Mar 2016 13:23:04
If Morrison does indeed sign does that mean he is retiring from international football!

23 Mar 2016 18:00:29
Something wrong here tonight.
much to agree with;
DAZZA YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT
-Will MW stick to 4-3-3 in the higher league or might he consider 4-4-2 pushing forward?
We have to defend better and higher up so maybe he will land a top notch signing as part of DK's promise.
COLDO and SWIFTY - they could go and maybe that would leave enough cash for Morrison or someone similar?
Also Morrison's Dad will kick his ass if he doesn't come!

23 Mar 2016 19:55:37
I think Morrison would take a pay cut to come to us. He's made a fortune playing in the EPL for his whole career, nearly. Thing is he's been scrapping about the bottom end of it fighting relegation. Sometimes players like that like coming to the Old firm for a shot at winning
something and European football.
I think if MW could get his hands on a player of that quality he would bite your hand off. I'm sure Halliday or Holt could drop out to accommodate without changing the formation with them as back up.
This is the level we need to be at least aiming for with one or two signings. I'm all for buying in youth and bringing them on but one or two stars would really
shine and make the difference in that team. Like Wallace, you can tell he's that bit higher a standard than the rest of the team because he's played at a higher level. Miller would too if he was a few years younger.

24 Mar 2016 12:14:52
Well he is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently injured. Not a bad shout to be honest! Can't see us being able to offer his wages, or to be more precise, I am not sure we should be offering any big wages until we are 100% clear of Ashley and our issues.

24 Mar 2016 14:49:01
I'm not necessarily saying go all guns blazing for Morrison but I do think we need 1 or 2 signings with top level experience. For all the good play this year we have been slightly nieve at times. Few older heads would sort that right out and influence the younger players.
Saying that I fully expect Holt and Halliday to shine next year at that level with a decent CDM behind them. In fact I expect them to shine at that level in the semi final with Ball behind them. Got a funny feeling we'll pass the ball around their midfield all day anyway with what we have.
