Has anyone heard any rumours on the transfer front, I feel we need more than 2 players to bolster the squad, I see there a few half decent players out of contract next summer, here are a few names, John Souter, Osman sow, Ryan McGowan, David goodwille, shay Logan, these players may not be the best however they could add depth to a small squad, I hope Mcparland has identified people too, ultimately funds need to be released for transfers, there are a few gems in the championship too from Falkirk and hibs (won't do buisness I know) as far as I'm concerenerd January can't come quick enough.

Osman sow is being considered about 60k will do the trick, he is big, fast and a pest will be in the blue soon, I have it on good authority,

Stubsy is getting to big for his wellies, spouting all that crap, keep it going you person we will rip them to bits, Nicky law is going to finally prove what an asset he is, this is his moment, all together now,

I saw the article on this. I quite liked the look of most of the players but Souttar and Ziggy Gordon are the two for me. Tavs is a winger, not a right back and Ziggy is possibly one of the best young scottish left backs in the country, apart from perhaps Paterson of hearts. For me Souttar is a must. He is young, has a wealth of premiership experience to his name at such an age, and is versatile in 3 of 4 positions we need to cover. RB/CB and the all important DM. I believe there are better options than Sow available in the English championship and league 1.

Has anyone looked in the English Leagues or in the top European Leagues at players that might be available. I would love to see us sign a centre back in the mould of Butcher, Amoruso or Gough and a defensive midfield player in the mould of Roberts of Greig and a player with the aggression of Souness or Hurlock. That is what we need for Scottish Football. Players that will give leadership and protection to our young players and let the opposition know that we will not be outplayed, outmuscled or outfought!

Top of my Christmas wish list:

The smirk being wiped off Stubbs' mug.

aye to right bro, the guy can hardly string a few words together, he's a bit like Charlie ridiculous.

In STUBBS WE TRUST it's a bit of banter wind your necks in Mondays game will decide nothing no matter who wins.

Quality not quantity is what is required, not just finding someone to fill a position.

Need some quality to shore up the defence be that a defensive mid or another central defender.

We also need some more quality up front, either a goal getter or an attacking playmaker who can open the door.

Personally I think we are miles away from where we would like to be or need to be for next season, however I think if MW sorts out his tactics (they are the real problem) and if we add at least two players of real quality then we should be ok. Looking at championship standard players or more young unproven players would be a massive mistake at this stage.

I was told last night that we're very much interested in signing ex newcastle and west ham midfielder kevin nolan, I know a few months back we were heavily linked with him but there seemed to be no truth in it, have to say although he's in his early 30's he's a good midfielder with a bit of dig but I thought he'd signed with someone, time will tell I suppose.

23 Dec 2015 15:08:30
Jackson Irvine, John souttar and another winger/striker. Would only sign a right back if it was Paterson nobody else would be an improvement.

23 Dec 2015 14:28:12
I know he's 33 but I'd take Nolan in a heartbeat if he is fit. Epitomises the type of desire we require at this point and would certainly be a leader on the park! I believe he is training with Leyton Orient but is currently unattached, perhaps the scouse connection with McPartland will see it happen.

23 Dec 2015 22:12:06
I agree about Nolan guys. That guy would never get muscled off the ball like some of our younger players. And pitches in with plenty of goals. I'd love to see him in the blue shirt.

24 Dec 2015 17:15:19
The seeker I am pretty sure if some of the younger players seen how Kevin Nolan handled himself on the pitch it would encourage them to get stuck in and go in for some crunch but fair tackles, just my opinion, but yes a player of nolans capabilities and tough tackling is define toy a player we could be doing with.

We can guess forever about who the players Warburton has identified in January. But if one thing is certain, a Defensive Midfielder will be signed.

Considering the Eustace deal didn't go through it seems simple to assume his position is the area Warburton is looking to strengthen.

And obviously it will be someone experienced.

21 Dec 2015 07:56:06
I still feel like we still should have snapped up Eustace, but not as a player, but some sort of coaching role, because with him in the training camp we seemed to have been playing a lot better, as soon as he left the bad results started coming in, because the rumours were he was using all his experience with the youth players.

21 Dec 2015 09:37:08
Hope we do get a defensive midfielder, would mean Halliday could move up. Our bad performances are nothing to do with Eustace not being here, it's to do with our predictable playing style which Warburton will not change. First 1/4 of the league teams didn't know that's why we were getting results, now the teams have sussed it all out. Not rocket science.

21 Dec 2015 12:31:55
I tend to agree with Scott1912, Eustace did appear to be well respected by the players and given his injury problems would have most likely been happy to be part of the coaching set up.

With Eustace failing to gain fitness, we will need a quality experienced alternative for that position and I just hope that it is someone that will look after the young players, since we appear to have a bunch of 'softies' and a severe lack of leadership at present.

21 Dec 2015 18:29:36
i think if you check back you will find that Eustace CHOSE not to come for family reasons, so in this case I think MW gave him more than enough time to think about it, When the family needs you more, you have to chose wisely.

From my understanding it is a family member who is seriously ill. Hope it works out ok.
