Some rumours kicking about around a consortium to buy into us interesting if true, supposedly a whisky entrepreneur along with wait for it sdm and some others.
Ill not hold my breath on it but thought i'd pass along the rumour line lol.

01 May 2017 21:03:54
Yup, heard this one too. Apparently it has coincided with his re-entry in the Rich List, or something.

01 May 2017 21:12:12
Well there could be a bit of merit in that rumour. Jack Daniels purchased a Scottish distillery up near elgin last year. The owner cashed in big time. Multiple millions and I know this because my relation was the accountant for them. The owner was a blue nose. I will ask my relation to see if he known anything

01 May 2017 21:34:18
The Distillery was Ben Riach sold to Jack D for £285million the owner Billy Walker is a blue nose. I'll try and find out if any truth in the rumours

01 May 2017 21:53:57
sdm? who is that?

the rumour I hear on Friday was totally it wasn't the board that wanted pedro but the Chinese, consortium apparently. more than just likely scheidt,

01 May 2017 23:02:36
How do you know Billy walker is a blue nose? I did see that his two business partners are both South African business men not saying just for that reason them and king will know each other but could go along with king talking to potential buyers/ investors who knows.

02 May 2017 00:55:59
How good would it feel for us to get an investor! The last few years have been hard going, some decent news on cash being injected would be as good as lifting silverware for me at this present time! Fingers crossed

02 May 2017 07:02:11
What happened to Red Bull? Until Mike Ashley is out the way nobody will invest.

02 May 2017 09:27:36
Deanobear, Scotsman article stating Billy Walker is a lifelong GERS fan. 3 or 4 paragraphs above the header that says "30 second cv" near the end of the article.

02 May 2017 15:46:32
I was told that this guy Walker is related to our ex-goalie Nicki Walker of the shortbread family but have no idea if any of the family are bluenoses

02 May 2017 15:46:47
SDM = Sir David Murray no other

02 May 2017 15:47:43
If things go the way people are saying then i think there could be little investment. i think if true murray and co will buy ashley out 1st if anything rangers need ride of ashley and merchandise deal before we can really have some good cash to buy better quality.

02 May 2017 15:52:10
red bull have still been touted for our next sponsors as far as I've heard with under armour as the kit manufacturers but that's just what I've heard off of the sites i am on

02 May 2017 17:48:47
Sorry first time post, not sure how this works re posts being approved by admin, but just wanted to state I know Billy Walker personally and he is a definite Bluenose, and s shrewd business man who could make a serious difference if involved in a consortium @ Ibrox.

He's also a local Lanarkshire man, and would provide hands on support in the boardroom if he chose to be involved.

02 May 2017 19:30:38
We have to get real here guys. Nobody is going to come in and buy Rangers. Not red bull not any chinese guys cause they just wouldn't get a decent return on their money. We would have to qualify for the last 16 in the champions league to do that and celtic can't do it. Lawlell is in a catch 22 situation. He has to spend really big to get into the last 16 but why should he just to win the scottish league. I thinkk our only hope next season is second in the league and maybe a cup and watch the tic not qualifying for europe. Sorry for being so downbeat but we are where we are.

03 May 2017 22:17:46
And no sir Walter i am legend smith to bail us out again when ped screws up i see another Paul le goon situation who ever he buys it's got to be better then the crap we have I don't no why they never offered kenny miller the job seems too do everything else

01 May 2017 15:12:30
First time post, was at the game on Saturday at hospitality and the guy I was sitting next to said he knows David Murray and is considering coming back to rangers as he's invested money with guys from Dubai on property or something said he's meant to be waiting with the outcome after the whyte case, just passing on what I heard.

also Alex Rae was in chatting before the game and I thought he spoke very well and said Scott brown won't be running the show if he was there, I have mixed views about Murray but we are in need of help and money.

01 May 2017 15:55:55
Nonsense about Murray, he stands to lose over £13milion personally in the Tax Case, he is closer to bankruptcy than we are.

01 May 2017 16:13:00
alex rae said that scott brown wouldn't be running the show if he was there

that's funny, cause i thought alex rae was the manager that nearly got st mirren relegated from the scottish championship? am i mistaken?

01 May 2017 16:23:09
I've also heard about Murray coming back in but don't believe it for a minute. Don't believe anyone is coming in anytime soon

01 May 2017 16:26:12
Whats that got to do with anything 🤔?

01 May 2017 16:51:54
the fact that he's a terrible manager/ coach doesn't exactly lend much credance to the fact he would come up with a tactic or give the instructions to stop scott brown.

don't get the fascination with a sugar daddy type coming in to save the club, what's wrong with just backing the club and supporting dk and the three bears cause if it wasn't for them we'd still be in the championship!

01 May 2017 17:01:23
If whyte Is found guilty of obtaining the club by fraud? Would the assets and all then be returned to the previous owner? ( Murray)

01 May 2017 17:04:45
The S*n newspaper daid this morning Murrays company is now worth 150 million so there may be someyhing in it. Albeit maybe shareholders may own most of it.

01 May 2017 17:05:26
If you read my comment correctly I said depends on the outcome of the case cannon

There's a difference between playing and managing
Ogbear if you want me to give examples quiet happy too

Jls that Murray would invest or along that line

Also there no chance Murray will go burst and if you have anymore evidence of that cannon am happy to listen

01 May 2017 17:30:11
Prsoloyal, I thought we were talking about Alex Rae the manager? As you can tell from my comments!

If we are indeed talking about Alex Rae the footballer then I never rated him man, Scott Brown is as good as Barry Ferguson was I would say.

01 May 2017 17:38:53
Heard a rumour along the same lines involving Murray and Saudi investors 2 months ago at a corporate golf day with work.

Heard it second hand so hearing it from yourself prsoloyal maybe there's some truth. The golf day had numerous business owners there incliding men who have a voice in the Inbox boardroom, never met any of them but mixing drink and bravado usually something gets said that maybe shouldn't.

I definately think Murray would like some sort of redemption after the Whyte/ Green fiasco.

01 May 2017 17:42:04
Scott Brown as good as Ferguson! Brilliant

01 May 2017 18:00:40
Couldnt mention that guys name in the same sentence as fergusons

Alex Rae was a decent player with a good career

Scott brown spl player at best that's why he's never moved would get found out

01 May 2017 18:25:15
Scott Brown won the league in his 1st season with them but only because he was suspended😂Then the nxt one he won it was the yr we went in to Admin then the rest we wernt in the league til this season with a team full of washed up 2nd Div players. but hey that's what they class as a club ledgend

01 May 2017 18:36:09
Rangers need a sir david murray even if it to invest 10mill. hope it true i think murray was at ibrox he sure tell ashley pack your bags.

01 May 2017 18:39:08
When Murrays company folded he bought their assets using his personal wealth for pennies on the pound and simply started back up again. Morally wrong but it is what it is. His business on day one was worth about £100m. His own personal wealth will be worth much more.

Doubt he'd ever want to come back to rangers but you never know I suppose.

01 May 2017 18:41:02
Ogbear, common have a serious word with yourself! Scott brown is never in god's creation, anywhere near as good as barry ferguson was! In fact barry ferguson is still better than scott brown NOW! Everytime he played against broony the loony, baz proved he was head and shoulders above him! Honestly no biased whatsoever, broony is NEVER in barry ferguson's league!

01 May 2017 19:06:18
the rumour started was by myself a few months ago read my prevoius posts. a friend of mine works for an investment company and murray was over there discussing a deal 2 provide steel for 2 new oil wells. the saudis asked him about wanting 2 invest in a or football clubs the 2 clubs that where being discussed where the gers and leeds utd. I've not heard anything since as the guy is only home for a couple of weeks a year for tax reasons or something. his company are based in Edinburgh and are brokering the deal for the steel.

02 May 2017 08:36:33
a hope alex didny mean on the football pitch, he was rotten.

barry and scott are similar, maybe barry slightly edging it.

now gattusso there is someone who on the pitch would control brown

02 May 2017 09:14:46
Thought i would get my bit in those who think scotty (andreas iniesta) broon is good are deluded what does he bring to the table let's get real here yes he's been good for celtic but why has he never went down to the prem?

And proved himself instead of a 1 horse league were he stands out now couldn't help myself before rangers were booted out what did we scotty broon the die hard gers fan and celtic do back then?

Nothing, in fact rangers were the number 1 team on 3 titles in row plus european final also don't forget what medals did brown win as celtic player back then? How many managers did sir walter smith the great get the better of strachan, mowbray and lennon. so that's 3 managers rangers dominated celtic all while Scott Brown was there. why because we had top players back then in our midfield like davis and mendes etc who were able to contain lego muncher why does scott brown look so good against us, common sense.

we don't have the calibre of midfielders now so that's why he looks so good against us if we were to bring back for example steven davis or another top international player do you think scott brown would look good then absolute no chance in hell he looks good because or midfield is powder puff and light weight, Fact.

02 May 2017 10:10:02
We all hate Brown but i wish he was in our team wee pr*** though he is. He dictates every domestic game the manky mob play. i'd say on his day Fergie was slightly better but i saw them both at Hampden in 2006 V the French when Caldwell scored and the 2 were magnificent that day. It just shows where we are at as a Club when the PA Announces Alex Rae as a "Rangers Legend" on Saturday at HT to do the Draw. the mind boggles.

02 May 2017 14:03:49
alex rae was total and utter guff in his playing days!

mind barry ferguson went to the prem league and ripped it to shreds? yeah, me neither.

02 May 2017 14:55:14
I can remember him playing half a season before a knee injury with Blackburn and still getting there player of the year award

02 May 2017 15:53:46
barry was a far better player in a far better team .
scott brown is a good player and has got better over the last year but to mention him as good as barry is just crazy he is maybe as good at breaking up the game as lennon was but barry was a goalscorer / provider and defended every bit as good and was the all round midfielder / captain

02 May 2017 15:54:05
Chinabairn, i agree can't stand him he's cocky and arrogant jerk but what would rangers do right now for scott brown? Its funny old story he was rangers daft and it was us believe it or not who he wanted to join first until the green side offered him 25 thousand, moussa dembelle dollars. hey who wouldn't take that money. can't blame the poor person going to them lol. like i said, keep the faith fellow bears and have faith in pedro. painful and soul destroying as it is, but good things do come to those who wait and we have waited since 2012, so our time is coming and we will have our very own scotty brown in midfield soon. it takes time, rome wasn't built in a day remember.

01 May 2017 15:11:30
Hearing that a bid of 800k tabled for dorrans been rejected and norwich not looking to sell for any less than 3.5 million. Also heard another 2 bids been placed for a midfielder who plays in mexico and a centre back playing in the bulgarian league. No names as yet on midfielder and defender

01 May 2017 16:57:32
Bring in ali crawford instead he's about 6 year younger and will score the same amount of goals and would cost buttons

01 May 2017 18:40:14
Dorrans miles ahead of Crawford for me. Hopefully 800k starting bid with much more room to increase.

01 May 2017 18:38:11
JD90 Crawford would be a huge step in the wrong direction, he's nowhere near the standard required. And before you ask, I've seen Accies this season as often as I've seen us. Average player in a Mickey Mouse team.

01 May 2017 21:11:37
Surely the better choice than spending £2.5-3million on dorrans. Crawford has room to improve too. The need to spend what little money we have wisely

01 May 2017 21:19:52
Can you make bids for players just now?

01 May 2017 22:57:01
JLS no you can't

02 May 2017 06:17:00
Cheers JD, just because the poster says a bid had been "tabled" for Dorrans

02 May 2017 15:56:00
he said it had been knocked back which is nonsense as there has been no bid but they may have approached they club to find out what it would take and been told where to go.
dorrans is a good player and better than what we have but if they want anymore than 1.5 for him then i'd be looking elsewhere as 2 million could get us better than that if we look abroad

01 May 2017 12:03:03
I very rarely post on this and haven't done in a long time. Was at the shambles of tht game on Sat n was talking to somebody and if it's correct in what he said then we have made a good start with signings for next year. Players mentioned- Jamie Walker, Sam nicholson, Graham Dormans, Steven naismith and Kenny McLean. You here a lot of rumours so only passing what he said. The boy mentioned something about his dad's friends with the agents. Also need to get rid of a lot of players as well tht teams a shambles.

01 May 2017 12:20:33
rather see pedro go down the foreign route I hear all the talk about signing rangers men but just cause you support rangers doesn't mean you can play for rangers. I also think the reason pedro got the job over big eck and the rest was his contacts hears hoping anyway

01 May 2017 14:16:08
Sam nicklson can't even get in hearts first team but yet we should sign him along with other average spl players do people not realise most of the crap we have now will be good players for these spl sides bringing in nicklson hays and walker jack will not get us any closer to Celtic. Celtic are the marker we are trying to catch so if there not good enough for Celtic which that lot are not then there not good enough for us!

01 May 2017 14:59:50
Negative, right now ain't the time to be a negative rangers supporter now is the time to be heard an support the team even more than ever wether we sign walker jack, crawford, nicholson, paterson, moult, dorrans, naismith etc, it don't matter we all need give pedro the chance in the window to get deadwood out and new faces in who he thinks will serve the club well who cares how far tic are in front we are rangers football club the most successful in the world . for instance would you have haliday or jack? Holt or dorrans? Wags or naismith?

01 May 2017 17:50:49
I think our midfield would benefit hugely from signing Jack. He's technically very good and has that bit of physicality we've been missing all season. Also, Rossiter should hopefully be fit for the start of next season and will be like a new signing, as will Niko when he returns from injury. So there's a brand new midfield 3, 2 "ball winners" in Jack and Rossiter and a creative midfielder in Kranjcar for a total cost of what 250k (for Jack) .

We could do a lot worse than Nicholson and Walker of Hearts and also wee Crawford from Accies. Celtic took Mackay Stevens and Armstrong from an average dundee Utd team where both were good and now it's fair to say Armstrong is probably the most complete midfielder in Scotland who could comfortable walk into most EPL teams outwith the top 4/ 5. Who's to say the players we're being linked to from Aberdeen and Hearts couldn't do the same. Don't get the negativaty towards signing Scottish/ British.

02 May 2017 15:57:50
look i'd like to go down the route that gets us challenging celtic not just closer to them and i don't think signing a few foreigners would do us any harm.
