Celtic are on him.

He is better than what we have to an extent, but I seriously doubt he would come for the level of footy we are at

the shares are not shares IN THE CLUB. They are shares in the holding company which will own 100% of the company which owns the assets which make up the club if we are looking for precision of language, what is being sold is NOT a share in the club.

Believable79 Unbelievable16

So what you are saying is dont invest in the company who OWN Rangers.Away and start another fantasy tax blog possession is 9/10ths f the law in OUR Country

Agree2 Disagree2

You CANNOT buy a share in a club, why cant people grasp this? You cannonly buy a share in a company.

Agree1 Disagree0

If you bought shares the shares that you bought were not in Rangers football club. They were Rangers International Football Club Plc. This is not The Rangers that play on the park.

Agree1 Disagree1

Club company? one and the same...

Agree1 Disagree1

You most certainly can buy shares in a club and thousands of Rangers fans used to own them.

Also you can buy shares in Celtic, Arsenal, St Mirren, The RAC etc etc.

Of course it's not shares in the club you're buying.
The whole point of our previous problems was that the holding company was liquidated and the club continued, 140 year history and all that.....
How else do you think all the previous shareholders lost everything?
You can't be naive enough to think you can own shares in the club and let the holding company go bust as many times as you want, while still maintaining your shareholding.
BTW, it's the same with Celtic. All shares are in the holding company.

Agree2 Disagree1

#2 is correct, shares can only be bought in a company not a club. That is why clubs have holding companies. They hold assets and any subsidiary companies and allow club to trade.

#7 the clubs you listed have holding companies as well which the shares are being bought in and the RAC IS a company so it can have shares. Rangers fans used to have shares in 'The Rangers Football Club PLC' which was the holding company at the time

Agree3 Disagree1

To the nuggets that say you can't buy shares in a club - but only in a company, are you NOW finally acknowledging that the football club IS merely owned by a company? If so you MUST also then realise that when a company takes over from another company then the assets etc (including the Club) are merely transferred fom one entity to another. Oh how that must hurt your heads eh :)

Agree1 Disagree3

You can buy shares in celtic football club or are they in celtic plc?

Agree0 Disagree0

What you on about? Every football club is owned by a company!

Agree1 Disagree0

It's effectively the same thing as far as business goes. Unless the holding company has other assets, it's fortunes are 100% linked with those of the club (which as others have said, isn't an entity that offers shares).

You can be sure that if the company goes into administration, the club will be docked points. (This happened to Southampton a few years ago).

I would bet not one of you in this thread have a clue what you are talking about.
1. So who bought the Arsenal shares that Whyte sold? Were they in Arsenal the club or Arsenal the company? Also the case with the bike from St Ettienne, is that a club bike or a company bike?
What strip do the company play in? Are all my old strips nothing to do with the new company, how many titles did you win as a company and how many as a club? If you count what titles the company won as separate then where does the 54 come from. Is John Greig the Greatest Ever Ranger for the company or the club.
So just to recap for the hard of hearing... if Green owns the company and you own shares in the company...who owns the club? If it is the company that owns the club then you own the company so in turn you must own the club! BUT it was the company you bought shares in......not the club. And one final thing, do you support the club or the company, because the club has changed owners so that means it is a different company from the one your father and his father supported. By that then the actual ancestral descendants of the 4 men that had a dream/nightmare/bad trip or bag still technically own the original Rangers football club, everything that has happened since you first became a company is neither here nor there, if as you say companies and clubs are separate, this in turn means that trophies etc will need to be divided up amongst the differing companies....... just saying!

See how that works out...new company = new club. You can spin it out however you want to, all you are trying to do is make up elaborate posts to try and disprove what EVERYONE else knows, Rangers are dead and the world is a better place for it.

p.s. Does the company have different scarves than the club and where can I get one, I'm sure my brother in law would love to know he supports the club AND the company.

All feedback, will be duly ignored.

I hope Santa brings you nothing but socks and you are all still trying to defrost your turkey at 10 bells on Christmas night.

Bah Humbug to the lot of you!

Benedict Know-hee-hawall Lol.
I find it hilarious the way some people get all wound up by the fact that RFC are still around. These people appear more upset by this than by anything else that goes on in their world.
Bad news for you Mr Bah Humbug is that just like the ghost of Christmas past Rangers are still around, and will come back to haunt you. lol.
P.O.B.

Agree1 Disagree0

POB did you buy shares? You will say you did but you and I both know you are lying, remember you have previous for it.
I actually asked questions, obviously that were beyond your intellect so you started a personal attack on me, that seems the M.O. for people of your ilk when faced with the truth.
Why don't you believe Green or Traynor when they said the history died?
Another question for you to ignore, you have never given a straight answer to any question you have been asked, is that why you are ashamed to post on the CHAMPIONS page? As for finding it hilarious, as my old Irish Catholic granny used to say, small things amuse small minds.
