Was he given a payout though? If so its more money out that we can't afford

Didn't even know he was still with us, waste of a Jersey.

Waste of a jersey?. Not the best player we ever had but did us a turn last year
when ratbags like Naismith & Whitterker
jumped ship.
Good luck to the boy.

Doubt he would have left without some sort of pay-off.

Will probably go somewhere else and be a decent player once he gets some proper coaching!

Jumped ship, from the basket-case of a club that is Rangers
If these players hadn't left, how would we have continued to pay them all?
The club would have went bust again after about 3 months
Agree0
Disagree1
Above post if players hadnt jumped ship they would all been put up for sale and could have brought in much needed money but them same players know there selfish act will never be forgivin nor forgoten by the rangers support
Agree0

They could have transferred their contracts & left for a fee, so yes they did jump ship.
Agree0
Disagree0
These players wouldn't have stayed but the point is Rangers would have got a transfer fee for them at a time we badly needed cash. The players could have signed over with clauses in their contract allowing them to leave for a set fee. Even if it would have been £500k the players would still have got their moves and the club so money but they chose to desert the club
Agree0

They may have questioned the ability of the club to survive, even for a fee. They may have been sick of it all - all the unknowns etc. , the reduced wages. Wouldn't you have just thought 'f*ck it, I have a family to look after without having to wait for someone to buy me'?
Agree0
Disagree0
Above post even on their reduced wage they would still have earned more in a week than most workers earn in a month never to be forgiven nor forgoten

About time he was chronic!

Rangers have just sold Stuart Urquart their under 18 Scotland Captain to Coventry.
Quite Sad - home he remembers the good times and comes back.

He was out of contract with us, but as we offered him a new deal we had to get compo,
so he wasn't really sold,

Don't really think Rangers had any control over that. Did they not offer him a contract that he turned down? Therefor he was a free agent and could sign for anyone?

@Harthill bear we are strengthening by getting the weaker players out and getting players of a much better standard in, 9 new better players doesn't that say it all?

The boy has done the right thing under McCoist he won't get near the first team as his birth cert is still wet. McCoist was trained by "Walter I don't let kids play Smith", remember Barry Ferguson was at the club and couldn't get a game until he left and Advocaat came and made him Captain, in the continent if you are good enough you are old enough. I pity the boys left behind they will all leave one by one, may as well shut Murray Park and sell it for housing. The boy was Scotland under 18 captain had other clubs sniffing after him what a loss.

When Rangers went into their financial woes it was cited that this was a chance for the youth players to step up, playing in the lower leagues would give them experience and they would grow into playing for Rangers. how long did that last before loads of money was spent on bringing in second rate spl players to win the 2nd division. shame really as the boy obviously has talent, a good coup for big Elvis at Coventry, hope the boy gets the chance to play and progress.

Alex 1972 What we seen the other night was new sighnings being out played specially the first half by an average division one team, and Stevie Smith has not improved not one pass did he deliver to Lee Wallace they were to far in front or he had to check back for them. Waste of wages.
