I suspect the money's in the British virgin isles and the uk authorities won't be able to get their hands on it. Remains to be seen whether we'll ever see it again. I fear not.
I don't think we'll see CW again at Ibrox again either. This whole thing stinks. And the really annoying thing is that anyone with half a brain could see it was a possibility from the outset !

sfa to investigate rangers takeover under improper persons thingy. bout time. graeme
Believable24
Unbelievable5
Looks like Lloyds Bank and the FSA failed to check that Whyte's money was legitimately sourced. How did Whyte manage to get his hands on the £24m prior to having control of the club ? Why's the media not picking up on this ? Lloyds obviously didn't care where the money was coming from or whether it had been legally obtained. What happened to all the checks that are supposed to take place to ensure there's no money laundering, etc ?
Agree0
Disagree0
The thing is i only blame murray for 1 thing and that is selling to that muppet whyte.( who cany spell his own name). the big tax bill is still in question prob in our favour. its shyte and his no paying the PAYE that has got gers in this bother. a true del boy. bet he walks away soon unscathed. graeme
Agree0
Disagree0
Graeme - I agree, but Murray was under incredible pressure from the Bank to sell. The Bank effectively had Murray's arm up his back. The Bank wanted the £18m and didn't care about the future implications or where CW's money was coming from. Absolutely scandalous. This needs to be highlighted and fully investigated.
Agree0
Disagree0
First responder is quite correct that Lloyds didnt give a toss where the cash was coming from as long as it was being paid to them. I blame Murray for years of mis management however he was chasing the dream that 95% of gers fans wanted, but has now left the club in severe jeopardy. Trueblue
Agree0
Disagree0
How outrageous that the bank wanted their money back, such a totally unreasonable stance is clearly indefensible!. Oh by the way the big tax case, you are certain to lose your APPEAL and will have to pay the bill you have already received
Agree0
Disagree0
If gers lose a lot of clubs in england will be SHYTIN themselves. so never gony happpen law on our side. never recieved any final bill yet. graeme
Agree0
Disagree0
This is going to come back and bite Lloyds on the arse. There's bound to be an enquiry into the Bank's role in the Whyte takeover and their failure to check where the £18m came from. There were clear signs that all wasn't right and that CW wasn't fit and proper. This going to go ballistic !
Agree0

Believable7

Checked around the web and nobody really seems to know...
Agree0

Last rumour i heard it was one of Craig Whyte company's
Agree0

Its is owned by rangers parent company. Along with Ibrox and Albion car park, this company is not in administration. So Whyte owns them.

RANGERS. graeme
Agree0

My wee brother who plays in the under 15's says he was told that they won't be impacted by the administration because it's owned by a seperate company. Although his bus that used I pick him up and take him up there has been cancelled!
Agree0
Disagree0
I am pretty sure that Rangers Fc own Murray Park, which no doubt now belongs to Mr Whyte. Dont think he could sell it off for housing etc as Glasgow City Council have already knocked that one back. Trueblue.
Agree0
Disagree0
Think if you check the bearsden and milngavie herald website you will see that the developers got the planning permission for the land behind murray park to get developed so murray park i would think could be bought and used as housing ground
Agree0
Disagree0
Murray park is on green belt land so there will be no housing! How many times do I need to say it! Sakes! The only thing that Place can be is, golf courses, or more football related stuff!
Agree0
Disagree0
Reference my comment above, sorry it sounds a bit harsh now I have read it back! I didn't get my hole this morning ;-)
Agree0
Disagree0
Rangers FC own Murray Park - Its easy to confirm, just check the Land Register of Scotland.
Agree0
Disagree0
Green belt, housing development permission very difficult to get. also what gcc has to say is irrelevant as it is in east dumbartonshire
Agree0
Disagree0
Murray still owns the training ground through another company and rangers fc pay him rent to use it.
The administrators could decide they need to save that rent and stop training there and train at ibrox or somewhere cheaper instead.
Rangers do not own it, it ost them money every month to use it.

Considering the fact that the HMRC is after money owed many years before Whyte got involved with Rangers. Id reckon the previous sacked board know where it went.
Whyte has at least brought to light that somethings were done at Rangers many years ago that was underhanded and has led us down the road of administration.
Agree0

I dont think Craig Whyte was ever planning to expose the problem previously created.
There was no avoiding eventual exposure!

2.5m for McGregor?? Somehow I don't think so! Even a desperate Rangers in administration know they could get more than that. And even if he was available for that kind of money then, I'd guess that there would be a queue of EPL interested!

Craig Whyte should have had no access to Ticketus money. Yet it seems he managed to get an advance of Rangers' future season ticket income paid into his own company even before his offer to buy Rangers was accepted!!
So did he then agree to pay off Rangers' overdraft with their own money (keeping a few million for his trouble)? If he got away with that then he should be advising world governments on how to shaft their people ........
Believable34
Unbelievable4
I dont think world governments or banks need any advice or help on how to rip off their people off as they would easily put Craig Whyte to shame.

In short, yes

He probably learned it from how Governments work anyway... They're bigger crooks that Whyte will ever be.

Wel think of it this way he pays 18m debt through wave tower gets 24m paid by ticketus into wavetower replaces 18m, also claims club costs 45m to run only 35m comin in a hole of 10m, doesnt pay the tax of 9m this covers it!! jel money etc god knows..
CRAIG has put NOTHING INTO CLUB AT ALL
Agree0

Craig whyte was/is a venture capitalist. He took over small/medium sized struggling companies & attempted to turn them around. If successful he took a share in them if not he got shot of them. Rangers were simply too big for him. He was out of his depth & won't be back.
Agree0

Ticketus bought 4 years season tickets not loaned whyte is aka Robin hood And his merry men is whyte, Ellis , Grier, etc .
Agree0

Wait til it is revealed how the remainder has been split up
an introduction fee payable from it too? nice...
payable to a craig whyte company....?
Agree0
Disagree0
Whyte owns Ticketus and owns RFC, who owns the money is not in doubt, what it will be used for is another matter.
It will depend if the CVA includes the big tax case, if it isn't and RFC loses case then it will be liquidated and Whyte will buy it back.

The Scottish Premier League has denied Rangers permission to complete the signing of veteran striker Daniel Cousin on a free transfer.
Cousin had agreed to return to Ibrox earlier this week after he had watched the club's victory over Dunfermline Athletic last weekend.
The Gabon international had most recently been playing in his homeland prior to the Africa Cup of Nations and was hoping to rejoin Rangers after impressing for the club in the 2007/08 season.
However, a last minute amendment to the 35-year-old's contract ensured that the deal was not finalised prior to Rangers entering administration.
Speaking earlier on Friday, prior to the SPL's decision to block the move, Gers boss Ally McCoist revealed that Cousin had been left 'shell-shocked' by the turn of events at the reigning champions.
McCoist said: "Daniel Cousin is shell-shocked at the moment, like the rest of us.
"At this moment in time he is in the squad for tomorrow and still has an opportunity of getting the signing through. I'm still very hopeful we can get through the bits of red tape.
"The players still want Daniel to come, we still want Daniel to come and the supporters want Daniel to come. Most importantly, Daniel still wants to be involved here."
Cousin must now look elsewhere for a new club, with his agent having admitted earlier in the week that there is interest from England
Agree0

He can't sign period. No club in administration can sign anyone. A transfer embargo has been put on Rangers. In terms of SPL Rule A6.20
Agree0
Disagree0
Your in admin ya muppet. Pay the clubs what you owe before signing any players
Agree0
Disagree0
Cousin has signed and has an official contract with Rangers, he has international clearance and registered with the SFA. However, he was too late to register with the SPL; therefore not able to play in SPL games, but can play in the Scottish Cup. Will still be getting his weekly wage of £7,500. Will be getting money for hee haw!!
Agree0

Registered with the sfa but not the spl how incompetent are the clowns that are running Rangers.well done Whytey ya balloon do us all a favour your staying away tomorrow stay away altogether.

Statement from SFA.
The Scottish FA can today confirm its intention to conduct a full independent inquiry into the activities of Rangers FC and, specifically, a number of potential breaches of the Scottish FA's Articles of Association.
We are concerned by the developing situation at the club and the new information that has come to light since the appointment of the club administrators, Duff and Phelps. The chairman and his panel will be briefed by the chief executive, Stewart Regan, next week and will consult further with the administrators, Duff and Phelps, as part of their inquiry.
We have been guaranteed full co-operation by Paul Clark, representing the company.
The Scottish FA's previous efforts in obtaining information relevant to the Fit and Proper Person requirement has been restricted by the club's solicitors' continued failure to share information in a timely or detailed manner.
We now feel there is no option but to undertake an independent inquiry to establish the clear facts and to determine the extent of any possible rules breaches.
Stewart Regan, Scottish FA chief executive: "Since we have been unable to receive any detailed information requested in relation to Article 10, we feel we have no option but to appoint an independent committee to investigate a number of concerns we have raised.
"We expect the investigation to be concluded as quickly as possible and will confirm the outcome in due course. We will be making no further comment on the investigation in the meantime.
"Finally, I would like to reiterate the need to learn the lessons from this unedifying episode. It is essential that we work together to improve the overall sustainability and competitiveness of the game in this country. This is a matter that the Scottish FA is already in discussions with the relevant league bodies to address."

each day passes the news gets worse
the press conference yesterday told us nothing and was a waste of time
WG
Agree0
Disagree0
What are you on about? Does this mean they will be selling them on top supporters?
Agree0
Disagree0
Yes. basically. according to Ticketus, they own future season ticket sales. that is a large chunk of income. lie 25 million plus over the next years, they paid up front for the tickets, not a loan. someone representing rfc has got that money, where is this person? administration will not protect rfc from this. only liquidation and re-forming will. which will leave behind Ticketus as just another victim of the motherwell would be mafia man.
Agree0
Disagree0
The tickets are bought in advance under a secure guarantee scheme by Whyte, they are not an asset and have no value unless Whyte owns RFC and club is not liquidated. There is only thing than can liquidate RFC and thats the big tax case, in that event the 24 million will be returned to Whyte and he will only lose his original 18 million.
Agree0
Disagree0
It means that they own the tickets. not have advanced the money on the prospect of future ticket sales. they will not enter into a negotiation where rangers just pay them a percentage to come out of admin, and rangers keep the 25 million. dream on. they are fuming. they more or less own the club and if the 25 million the handed over is goneski, they will ensure liquidation.
Agree0

this means they are unsecured creditors nothing else.
Agree0

Then sorry. where is the 25 million. what is secured, secured against what? it does not make sense. they say they paid 25 million for rangers tickets, nobody pays over 25 million on a never never. as far as ticketus are concerned they have paid for 25million of rangers future tickets sales. end of. craig is no genius. come to frankfurt and i will show you how things in finance work. craig better take cover.

How can releasing Broadfoot, Healy, Kerkar etc, put the club back on a sound footing when thesesara the lower earners anyway. The full squad could be release and the 10m black hole will still not be filled. Probably spending somthing like 1.5m a year in wages.

What an absolute load of garbage mate.
These players will be salaried at a decent amount.
Healy possibly £6,000
Broadfoot possible £8,000 - due to uefa cup run and new contract etc.
Kerkar possibly £3,000
£884k a year.
Aluko, Mcculloch, ness and bartley will also be likely to leave due to end of contracts or injure/loan.
Possibly around £1.8m a year.
So there is all squad players (except aluko) and thats you saved £2.6m a year.

1.5m in wages a year ? Get back to school thats only 28,000 a week between the full team. Mcgregors on that alone. Will be closer to 6 or 7 million a year.

The Blue Order would like to invite all supporters of Rangers Football Club to join them on Saturday at 1.30pm in Lorne Street just across from the Primary School. As we march towards our magnificent home. Once at Ibrox we will assemble outside of the Bill Struth stand in a show of strength and unity as we rally round the Rangers and we ask all members of the Rangers family to join with us. In these extremely difficult times, we must rise up and show that we will be here to defend our Football Club that generations before us have supported and do all that we can to ensure the club will be here for the generations after us. There is a lot of anger and emotion but come Saturday we must ‘reveal tolerance and sanity’. Our march to the stadium will be noisy and colourful but in support of our tremendous football club. I urge you all to join with us. Please leave that half an hour extra to get there. Please tell your bus convener that Saturday of all days, we want to be there early. Please leave that extra pint and come show the doubters that the Rangers supporter are standing together in defence of our club. This is not in any way a protest march it is simply to rally support for Ally and the team. Please feel free to bring as many flags and banners as you wish to add colour to the occasion. Once inside the stadium we ask that all supporters give nothing but 100% backing to the players and management. Let us make Ibrox loud like the bygone days of yore. Be upstanding for 90 minutes if you can. We must stand together. With Heart and Voice, The Blue Order

From looking at the squad there ain't a lot of room for manoeuvre. There's about 20 seniors players in the squad (including the injured players like Naismith), and from that getting rid of Broadfoot, Ortiz, MacKay and Bedoya, is about the only option, as once you get rid of more than 4 we won't have a squad to compete with.
Agree0

He will have been told the amount of money to get off the wage bill. So its a decision to lose a big name or few small waged players.

Broadfoot is no superstar but at this point in time he is one of our only options at right back. The whole dynamic of the last match changed when he put Broadfoot at Rightback.Bartley is awful in that position and whittaker isnt much better.

It'll be down to length of contract and possible sell on values too. Expect McGregor, Whittiker, Davis, Wallace to stay due to this. Fringe players to leave and others to be asked to take pay cuts eg McCulloch, Healy, Papac, Alexander ( if he stays, same with Broadfoot ). Would probably let Bartley go back to Arsenal too.
Agree0

I'd rather sent Bartley back to Arsenal than get rid of Broadfoot. Broadfoot is far better at RB than Bartley is. I think Papac will be let go, along with Healy and Kerkar.
Agree0

Not one of brodfeets bigest fans but much better than bartley at rb guys worse than a man doon at get him bk to arsenal (kerkar, papac, mckay, ortiz, healy, lafferty) probs all out the door too
Agree0

Simple solution. Cap all the top earners at say 18k per week and ask for all players to take 10-15% wage cut. Then we will see who wants to play for the club. As ally says 'we dont walk away'
Agree0
Disagree0
Simple solution
Find and release the money Whyte has stashed away pay our bills still plenty left left to keep our club going.then let's wait and see outcome of tax case
Agree0
Disagree0
Players that go will be...
Davis, Whittaker, McGregor, Bartley, Papac, Lafferty, Healy, Bedoya
They all either cost too much per week, especially Davis, McGregor and Whittaker or they are "money wasters". Some of them are on like £20,000 per week for the next half decade, that'll be the biggest savings.
I'm of the opinion that the younger ones will be kept and the "rubbish" players will be kept because they are on poorer wages. Makes sense i'm afraid...

The marlborough family, residents in Nevada, ex-owners of rangers fc who sold the club to SDM have been monitoring the situation for the last few months, they are worth about 15 billion dollars nowadays as their development and construction companies have boomed in the last 30 years are disgusted that the Club their Family owned and supported through their own hard earned money should be the object of such ridicule and embarrassment. They are also extremely unhappy at the latter SDM years and wish to deal with none of the present or previous board. They have been waiting for Administration to clear out the dead wood and make the transition as smooth and free of problems as possible to try and recover some of the pride this great club always had. A family member of mine works closely with some of the Marlboroughs Development Companies in USA.

RE the above initial post, yes there is an American looking at the club. Will be totally unknown to many and has no links to Scotland except through business associates and is inovled in the petroleum and gas business. He is being advised by the team that put together the bid for Liverpool by FSG. The guy has a considerable amount of cash at his disposal and also has the yearly income to undoubtedly sustain the team. He was looking at an EPL team but sees this as an opportunity to test the waters with a " EPL club size " in a smaller country to begin with. Whether he goes through with this or keeps his cash for an EPL club only time will tell.
