Kevin Thomson is a free agent. Would surely add a bit of quality to our midfield?

JHe's not needed. When Macleod is back, midfield is out strongest area if the squad. We need rid of Black and a couple of others. Bring in a couple of tough centre halves, Cammy Bell to replace Alexander and maybe a decent Scottish proven striker like Higdon perhaps and we will be fine. Govan FR_CPL
Yep I agree. Higdon has often spoken of the glamour of Glebe Park, the Costa Coatbridge and the allure of Arbroath.

Rangers could sign most of the spl out with Celtic regardless of what division we are in, let's be honest Higdon is a good player, but if Motherwell get a European spot then he wouldn't be interested in a move the gers

An intelligent response there. I think a number of players will see the longer term picture and would relish the chance to play for a massive club in front of 48000+ every two weeks. A club which ordinarily, players in the SPL would not have had the chance to play for otherwise. Surely better than not winning anything and playing for 4000 punters elsewhere. The issue of better wages has also not been raised at this point. But as the poster above intelligently points out, Costa Coatbridge is not an attractive option. But then, Higdon doesn't drink coffee.

" and what exactly is the difference to playing in front of 48,000 and not winning anything apart from lower league championships for the next couple of seasons. remember you were the team that was going to win every competition you entered. how did that go for you?? ( durrants words not mine). at present most SPL players are playing for euro places and cup runs so all you can offer is more money ( maybe) and more people booing youse off the park at failed cup games

Thompson would require more money that we need to shell out to get back to the top division, so I would say no to him. Never been a fan of players coming back unless it is legends like Steven and Hateley.
