Just heard that alan hutton has asked to be released as a free agent from aston villa, anyone else think he could do a job for us? He has been pretty gash this season but surely in scotland he could be a good signing and a solid right back is what we need as we are lacking in that area aswell as centre back. Anyone else think he would do a turn? Ed your opinion?

The GS {The Ed039's Note - If he has asked for a release from his contract it would be to sort out a very good contract on his next move, he wont be back, not yet anyway, if he was willing to play for alot less than what he is on right now then fine, fill yer boots Alan, but I would not be paying megabucks to have him back, remember he must be on at least 30-40k per week)

Believable13 Unbelievable98

Apparently would like to stay at Mallorca, where he was on loan last season, even though they've been relegated.

Agree1 Disagree0

Rumour has it he has been wearing Bayern Munich shirts when on holiday.

Hutton dressed as Lahm.

Agree5 Disagree1

Theres no chance of him returning, he will be on 40k a week. the best rangers should be offering players in division 2 is 2-3k max, but I bet its more like 5-10k.

we should be signing young players about 22-25 so they will be in their peek when we are back in the top flight.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is prob going to mallorca on a perm. I live in spain and they have been impressed with him and the pundits seem to like him so no chance he will go to scottish div 2. Someone will pick him up here tbh. Think we should stop with this wish listy and be realistic

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance on your nelly that he will be on 30-40k per week, maybe just maybe he was on that at Tottenham when he originally left but when he was shipped to Villa I'd imagine he would have agreed to reduced terms of around 15k-20k.

But regardless of what wage he is on, he'll not be back at Ibrox in Div 2 on a maximum of £5k.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's way to good for the 2nd division, dream on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can categorically deny that Hutton will return to Rangers. I am a distant relative, and family members have spoke to his dad Alan Hutton Senior and his Grandmother Edna Hutton. He wants away from Villa but there is no chance he will be back at Rangers this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hutton dressed as Lahm. brilliant!

Ally have a wee look at Big Terry's signings and take a chance, probably cost next to nothing on signings and wages but will probably sell on for a lot more than what you've got.

Believable29 Unbelievable43

Big Terry has just signed a Rangers Fanatic from N. Ireland, Curtis Allen is his name used to play for Linfield, very fast and can score goals, used to be with Blackburn Rovers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye let's dig into the goldmine that is Ebbsfleet Utd

There's a reason ICT will never win a title

harsh as it is it's a simple truth

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its good that ICT have identified players and got them in early but i'm not sure how most of them will fair. they all seem to be from the english conferenc league. They might take a while to adapt.

Curtis allen does seem, on paper, to be a goal scorer but still is a gamble.

is this not what allys doing with Clarke?

Agree0 Disagree0

Then again you took on Black, Sandaza, Shiels, Templeton, etc, etc fron SPL and they all turned out to be mega hits!

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Templeton was pretty good - do you watch the games, yeah?

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton virtually on International call up then signs for Rangers, knocks himself back 3/4yrs, wonder why?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine because he's not as simple minded as quite a lot on here seem to be

Let's look at this using just basic logic and common sense, a struggle for some I know but bear with me

Rangers are the most successful club in Scotland, 1 of the 2 clubs who have the resources available to possibly win the SPL, due in part to being 1 of the 2 clubs who can command upwards of 40,000 fans every other week

It's easy to take pot shots at Rangers but sooner or later everybody is going to have to accept that we're still the same club that has wiped the floor with everybody time and time again, it may take a few years but cold hard facts and logic are on our side

Rangers, regardless of whether or not it's new or old, can still command the attendances, they can still command the viewing figures on TV, they can still call themselves the most successful club in Scotland

Would I want to play for the team that's won more than anybody else?

sure, why not

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple minded, you seem to have a very high opinion of yourself! Big club or not he still set himself back 3/4yrs. Think back to Hearts v Spurs and the guy marking Templeton was Kyle Walker, like Templeton on the verge of an International call up, forward 2 seasons, Walker one of the top defenders in EPL, Templeton plying his trade in the lower divisions in Scotland!

Agree0 Disagree1

Plying his trade in the lower division while playing for the biggest club, flash forward 3/4 years and chances are he'll be at the very top of football in this country

I don't want to get into the petty arguments so let's just take Celtic out of the equation for the moment

He was at Hearts, a club who's absolute top finish can only be 2nd at the best of times nevermind when they have to deal with the problems they have now, and he moved to Rangers who, whether you like it or not, have the resources and capacity to finish 1st

it's all about the long term, especially for those that do the job as a career, they know what they're talking about and their livelihoods depend on that

He's only set himself back 3/4 years in terms of short sighted 'I want it all right now' foolish mentality, when Rangers get back to the SPL or whatever they're calling it now he'll more than likely be an experienced key member of a team that can sell out a 50,000 seat stadium every other week

If you're willing to put in the hard work and battle through the hard times then you'll reap the rewards, as with most things in Scottish football, when it comes to Rangers, and I'm more than happy to bring Celtic back into the equation here too, those rewards are a whole heap of a lot bigger and better than he could hope to get anywhere else

again it sounds harsh to the rest but it is what it is

Alternatively I'm sure he could have went to a Championship or bottom table EPL team and got paid a lot more money

I'd congratulate him for showing true ambition and not chasing a payday, but that doesn't fit in with the script does it

Agree1 Disagree0

An experienced member of a lower ranked team that's made it's way through the divisions still doesn't make him any better than when he joined you. reasons. not had to exert himself greatly and a manager that he won't have learned very much from, as for wages he has taken the quick buck/easy money without trying to better himself. Spin it anyway you want he joined for the money!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not the one doing the spinning, lower ranked maybe, but a bigger club than most

Better is subjective, it's also undefinable, what he will now have is several seasons playing infront of one of the biggest crowds in Britain, handling the pressure of being expected to win every single game without exception, taking the responsibility of being one of the standout players

As for learning from one of the greatest strikers this country has ever seen, I'm sure he'll pick up a trick or two from Super Ally, not to mention Durrant

I don't see how it can possibly be argued that there is a harder task than starting from the bottom and aiming for the top, the players have to win every league, beat just about every team in the country and carry the expectations of that in the face of, and let's be honest, fans that have the capacity to expect the ridiculous

Templeton could have got better money down south, with the firesale currently on the go at Tynecastle he would certainly not be short of suitors and he would have stagnated, like so many others, in the lower reaches of the EPL or Championship

If you believe he joined Rangers simply for the money then I'm not going to change your mind, a bit of thought and reasoning however does put a dent in your argument

Agree0 Disagree0

Terry's a fkn legend. Leave him to work his passage!

Ed let's clarify a couple of points regarding playing in europe again for those that are slow on the uptake
1, no European deadline was missed this season, we never qualified so no need to apply for a licence, that's like saying dundee missed the deadline, clear?
2, When we qualify for Europe again we will apply for a licence, clear?
3, article 47 states that ONE year accounts must be submitted and comparative figures for the previous year must be included, clear?
4 we must have Been a member of the sfa for three consecutive seasons, therefore 12/13, 13/14, 14/15, clear?
5, as per 4 we can play in Europe in august of 2015 (if we qualify), clear?
6, uefa can grant an exception to all of the above at their discretion, clear?

If anybody has another take on it please quote the article concerned from the uefa guidelines, not just what some guy down the pub says,
Can we put this to bed now?

My demister ain't working

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like an episode from E. R.!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, you better hope UEFA treats you as a new club or you might get a taste of the punishment dished out to Malaga - banned from Europe next time they qualify.

Hi guys, Murdo here.
A guy pal of mine works in the ground staff of our training facility Murdo Park. He told me last night while having some top banter in the local that we should expects about six more signings. He also said that Zaliukas was at the training ground last week. He said that a top striker could join if all goes to plan but his staff and himself have been instrtucted not to discuss any transfer dealings.

Believable13 Unbelievable103

Instructed not to talk about transfer dealings but he tells you Zaliukas has had a tour?

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm struggling to believe this but it is a rumours site. though your need to clarify that your pal is a guy and the banter was top leads me to think that the length of the post was being stretched much like the rumour itself. 6 new signings? I am personally expecting/hopeful at 2 more maybe 3 at most. Just my thoughts though it would be nice if your post to happen
