Talent = desire, commitment and heart.
When SG rebuilds the team in the summer he needs ensure that his new signings have these attributes in abundance.
We want and need players who will fight for the jersey.
We also NEED a captain!

I think we have a good captain at the club “ Jack “? Maybe few agree but in my humble opinion he has the material to do the job?

Ulsterman - a captain motivates his players, shirricks them when necessary and gets results.
Jack may be 'the captain' at the moment and perhaps the players he has around him are not up to his 'standard' or refuse to listen or he is not communicating.
I do not want a 'Paul McStay' type captain, I want a captain who cajoles, shouts, gets angry and boots arses, and where necessary consoles and puts an arm round the shoulder.
We either have the right 'captain' and the wrong players or.?

Is there any player in the Scottish league that would meet your expectations? Your desire for a player like you say is of course right, but where would we find him? Have you some one in mind already at the club?
The team is certainly lacking a true leader as you say, but with our finances he will be hard to find.

In my day a team was built by the spine first -
Goalkeeper - centreback / captain - midfielder - striker
T Butcher / R Gough
I presume SG now knows this and also presume that our director of football knows this as well, so I fully expect SG with the full weight of the boardroom to sort this out, this summer.
I do not know who is out there that can become our captain - but he is out there waiting for the call.
Finally, I have mentioned many a time that desire and commitment is as important as skill and it was that desire and commitment that saw us draw with hibs and get beat last night.
The only good thing that will come out of last night and the past week will be the players understanding of what they have not achieved, the hurt they have caused and the desire and commitment they need.
