I understand this year saw the 10th anniversary of the sad passing of Tommy Burns, I would like to ask all fairplay fans here to say one for him and his family. I thought Tommy was a decent fairplay guy and a true gentleman off the park, and he went about his business in a very honest way. Bless him, even though he was in the opposition team and bench.

I was lucky enough to meet Tommy a couple of times through his best pal Gerry. Absolute gentleman. Loved Celtic. which isn't a crime. what a left leg and simply a great guy.

Did not know Tommy personally but one of my best mates family were friends with his family and he spoke very highly of him.

I knew his sister well enough - wee Rosie, who was a waitress in the Alhambra back in the day.

God Bless.

I remember as if it was yesterday when we came home from manchester, in
may 2008, after losing our uefa cup final to zenit, to heading to celtic park, to pay our respects and laying down our scarves, after learning of the very sad passing of celtic legend, tommy burns! Tommy was a total gentleman, who always got total respect from us rangers supporters! God bless tommy burns, god rest his soul! Taken far too early! What an educated, cultured left peg tommy had Great footballer and of course, above all else, a special person and family man!

Tommy Burns was total class on and off the park. He loved Celtic and I have seldom heard a Gers fan say a bad word about him. Total respect.
