This new manager search gives me the fear.
The board felt Perdo was the right man and then felt Mcinnes was the right man - just look at how that's worked out
Whatever process they have or committee are in charge of this needs to change.

Agree I have no confidence in the board to get the next appointment right.

21 Apr 2018 19:19:47
Totally agree, its a huge concern as we don't want our season ticket money wasted again. Another concern of mine is will we finish 2nd in the league? With Hibs and Aberdeen both winning today!

I don't know if you agree with me here guys! I honestly think we should put a lot of our summer budget, into appointing a very good manager! I would easily sacrifice signing and spending a lot on new players, if it meant us securing a manager that is going to take us, firstly the clear 2nd best team in the league and then challenge and reign in celtic, for the scottish premiership title! Its been proven since the invention of the beautiful game, that a good manager can squeeze every ounce out of players with the added bonus of having them organised and the manager himself, being tactically aware! I truly think that if the correct appointment is made by our directors, then we have a lot of decent players who could become superb for us, with proper guidance! So my message to our board is this, "push the boat out and pay a big wage, for a very good manager, that can take us back to the pinnacle of scottish football, where we belong"Over to you rangers directors, don't disappoint us, please!

I agree supercooper. We've lacked leadership more than anything these last few years.

Going on the boards past appointments I have my doubts they’ll get it right.

I'd love to have an insight into the thought process that lead to Pedro getting the job what was it on his limited CV that put him above others
I think we need a football man on the selection panel I'm with others here can't trust the board to get this correct are we going for experienced men or another cost conscious experiment
As a side note was on various Arsenal forums earlier there is no appetite for Brenda at all, all totally dismissive of what he's done up here and his European record is also savaged so can't see that happening

spot on coop

manager still most important figure at any club he sets tone for training, tactics, fitness, recruitment, team
spirit and most of all standards

we need a proper experienced manager so we must to push boat out and make a statement and sign the absl best candidate we can as far too often we settle for 2nd best and mediocrity

this time board must get it right we have to appoint a strong man who’ll take this entire club by scruff of neck and sort it out root and branch.

get right manager right players will follow either from within or bought in externally - a good manager shd be able to improve what we have and spot what we need

over to you Mr King - it’s time to put up or shut up you’ve done a good job so far but next step is the biggest slog all time to be brave

Good point SC, a top manager hopefully get the best out of the players. I feel sorry for Murty as he has done the best he can, but put in a difficult position. The main thing is, though, that whoever is in charge gets our backing, not just through the good times but the difficult moments too.

As I'm led to believe and this comes from a Park family member it was Graeme Park and Douglas that pushed Pedro forward and even paid his release clause ( which was a few months early ) and paid his wages until it went tits up and landed with our great club paying him off! As I work with a former Rangers defender ( that signed for Liverpool but had to retire at 24 due to injury I'll let you work it out ) he has spoken with the club doc and other memebers of the backroom and he also says that Murty hasn't got respect from the team as they still call him Murts or whatever! He also says the Miller/ Wallacething is blown outta proportion as there was more than these two voicing concern about the direction they had during the ill fated semi final but have been made to look like scapegoats to ease a wage or two

I still like Murty I just think he lacks tactical experience and the balls to go though a team/ player like a steam train.
His level of success is a mark of how bad we have been

We need someone that is tactically experienced and can react tactically in an instant - he doesn’t have that yet
He needs to have the respect and strength in character to deal with player reactions he doesn’t have that yet

I have absolutely no problem with players fighting as last my as they are strong enough to react in the right way - it should never leave the dressing room either - that shows a weakness in the group

What I absolutely can’t accept is what I saw last week
We sat back and let them take the piss
Some might not agree with me but I would have at least left a mark on them so they knew they were in a fight and had to work for it - perhaps I’m too old fashioned or just dislike them too much

If you can’t get up for an old firm game or get your team up for an old firm game you have absolutely no place pulling on the rangers jersey

What is good about players fighting in the dressing room after such a timid display on the park? Actually it really annoyed me the reactions from Halliday and Candeias and the apparent arguing in the dressing. Where was that passion on the park?

I think we could have the best manager in the world and they would still struggle with this pile of garbage that he would have to manage, the board has got to find the funds required to turn around this mess that has been caused. At least 15 million for transfers, which hopefully this upcoming share issue can provide. no manager in there right mind will come here unless they have serious financial backing by the board. steve clarke has been mentioned, but it is easier to do well with the expectations at killie than it would be at rangers, i don't think FDB would be the correct choice either. I know people will disagree but i would plead with walter smith to come back for a few seasons. I guarantee if the board chapped his door and gave him serious backing i think he would return. He could take us back to where we should be. I know its not the best situation but i really can't see any other outstanding canditate. It needs to be someone who knows the dna of the club

Arthur your picking my point up wrong or I’ve explained it badly
I don’t mind players fighting if they react to it the right way - it happens all the time and people outside the dressing room don’t hear about it - unlike last week
Having a bit of a clear the air situation even if it involves a scrap can resolve a lot of issues but the players need to react properly not like cowards and nobody should be going to the press with it
