They spent over £2.3m. We spent about 650k.

Elbuffalo i think u will find they have spent more than us.
we just need make sure we keep morelos till the end of the season as the lad is crucial to closing the gap i no we have cummings but morelos offers more with his strengh up top linking the play and bringing others into the game now

Niko got two assists and Andy Halliday was the defensive part of a midfield that kept a clean sheet what more do you want? Remember spurs were held 1-1 to non league newport county so these games are not always the walkovers they seam on paper. For "fans" to come on and criticise individuals after a 3-0 VICTORY is incredible.

Jyf it was a below par performance against a team we should be putting at least 6 or 7 past even if we were playing them on a public park. It was an opportunity for those who are on the fringes to show what they can do and they failed to take that opportunity. A clean sheet is fully expected against teams of this nature. I said on here weeks back that Halliday deserved a clean slate under Murty but I'm afraid he will never be of the standard we require.

So calvin your only real complaint is that we didn't win 6 or 7 nil Halliday done his job as did Niko and by the reasoning on here Cumminings should be dropped because he never done his job against plumbers etc. We won 3-0 as a TEAM, the defence kept a clean sheet and the attack scored three I will ask again what more do you want?

01 Feb 2018 18:42:41
Jyf

Did you watch the game? Did you not see how many times Halliday either gave the ball away or was caught in possession? He clearly isn’t good enough and although it didn’t cost us last night do you honestly think he would get away with that against the teams in the league?

01 Feb 2018 19:39:06
We won comfortably last night lads

I understand what your saying. A win is a win and clean sheet is a clean sheet but a performance like that as a whole where there was too many under performers against stronger opposition would most likely end up in defeat. I understand it wasn't our strongest 11 but you also have to remember that the players who under performed are expected to step in when we have injuries and suspensions and most weren't good enough. But we are in the next round which is always the most important thing.

Firstly I'm not trying to start an argument! ✌️Nor am I trying to defend Niko, Halliday, or Hodson, etc. I just think it's a little unfair comparing that game to playing stronger opposition. As others have said the standard and size of that pitch on top of the weather conditions are a big leveller and these games away from home are always trickier than they look on paper.

Had we put out that 11 against Fraserburgh at Ibrox I would be fully expecting to win by 6 or 7 or even more and in that scenario had we performed as badly I would be in complete agreement. As Bankie points out Cummings didn't exactly cover himself in glory, should we be writing him off too?

It was an opportunity for some, none of whom grasped it, but Niko will be gone by summer at the latest and several others are sure to follow, but short of certain players heading to the U.S. (or China! ) this is the squad we will have till the end of season.

Hopefully by which time there will be evidence of further investment. So in the meantime let's get behind them and ignore our detractors. As you rightly say the most important thing was getting through to the next round, with a clean sheet and no more injuries being added bonuses.

Keep Believing!

Cummings never scored against Fraserburgh, what makes you think he will score 2 against Celtic?

02 Feb 2018 02:32:42
i think the point the guys are making Jyf is that we won 3-0 in spite of Hallidays performance not because of it. Same way we were unlucky not to win away at that lots place on the 30th, but everyone could see Niko was honking despite the good result

No not everyone snell
