Strange how a week changes things last week all we heard was that we were heading for admin 2 and that we didn't have any money to buy players now it seems most are saying that we've done the right thing loaning players for 6 months try before you buy so if it doesn't work out then we just pap them back to their parent clubs and we're not stuck with all these players we don't want or need but then if it does work out the deals are setup to be pushed through at pre agreed prices I always thought this was a better way to do business due to the amount of unwanted players we've had to pay off or try and get rid of cheaply over the last few years and then there's still the uncertainty of weather Murty will actually be given the gig on a longer contract but for me I hope he does well and get a 2 or 3 year contract but it it doesn't work out then at least a new manager isn't left with a big bunch of players he doesn't want when he wants to build his own team.

What happens if they play really well and say wolves or villa get promoted and offer them treble wages as to what rangers can offer. They are only on loan because the money is not there. Loans are not the way forward for any club with ambitions

Unfoftunately with our financial situation we don't really have much choice but to operate in the loan market or lower league market

All loans have different stipulations Not A Rumour like first refusals, obligatory set fees, buy backs etc. It is imperative that a club in our position uses the loan market wisely and to its advantage. To dismiss using them as lack of ambition would be naive to say the least.

Big Marc your kidding yourself on if you think Murphy deal on loan was planned. Now everyone saying loan deals is the best way forward. Should the young lad from Hamilton not be tried on loan first to see if he can handle playing for rangers.

Loan deals big Marc like Goss are good loans as we know we are not getting him as q p r are keeping him. But Cummins and Murphy are because wee have no money not because wee want to see if they can handle playing for rangers.

Didn't say anything about try before you buy mate. Having the benefit of their skills in the meantime (Murphy, Cummings) then paying for them when we have the season ticket money is sustainable. We have first refusal and agreed prices for both so no danger of losing them if they're successful. As for Goss that's one player and if he makes the difference between coming 2nd rather than 3rd then he is totally worthwhile. Celtic are in a far stronger position financially yet they still use the loan market wisely because whether you like it or not Scotland is a football backwater.

Well you have seen the posts on here and too many people seem to think this is a new thing the board have come up with instead of facing reality that there is no money left.

Celtic have got players on loan who they can't afford to buy and pay there wages so don't let Celtic fans or board kid you on either.

Our financial position should be fairly clear given the accounts etc. Only the board know exactly how little they have to work with, but no money can't be accurate otherwise they would not have approached McInnes, or started negotiations over Murphy or Docherty. January is notorious for overinflated prices for all clubs and given we sell season books in the summer this will obviously be our leanest period. The recently passed resolutions mean there will be an opportunity for fresh investment through a share issue. Our retail profits should increase every year from now on.
Getting back to loans Walter certainly understood the benefits of them, and as McCulloch stated recently the January deals bear all of his hallmarks. Celtic can definitely afford Roberts, whether he's interested in a permanent transfer is a different story. Due to the money down south there are many quality players that are surplus. Bringing in several players on loan that we have no chance of signing permanently wouldn't make sense but each deal should be judged on its own merits.
