Got to say I'm disappointed we didn't make an offer for Naismith till end of season. He would have added extra added depth up front and If it had been a success and Naismith scored the goals to help close gap a little on Celtic secure second place and maybe win Scottish cup then I'm sure he would have redeemed himself in the eyes of many however I understand why many of the fans don't want him back at our club. I just feel we had nothing to lose, if he came till end of season and was a failure or constantly injured then no big loss and send him back to Norwich.
Regardless of Naismith I'm still pretty happy with the transfer dealings during this window and hopefully we can get the docherty deal over the line and maybe a pre contract agreement for Roberts or Arfield.

On a side note gutted today's game has been called off as was looking forward to seeing a few of the new boys in action and even more so because I'm backshift on Wednesday and won't see the Dons game however I work with an Aberdeen fan and it will be good to rub his face in it after we win so come on rangers let's show derek mciness he was wrong to reject us let's show everyone we mean buisiness and let's show the whole of Scotland that we are a force to be feared again

Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.

Hello new poster here after reading for many years.

Regards naismith I'm firmly in the do t want him back camp but that's a different argument.

However given the home crowds at ibrox do you guys who want him back think a player who has caused so much divide among the support think that would genuinely be best for the team. I can only imagine how much stick he and the team would get. However he would be a ready made scapegoat and personally we need less of that at home bot more

It would be a big loss Broxi17 as the wages we would pay him could be used to fund a the signing of younger, better player! He has played 2 games all season and failed to compete either! He's finished why can't people see that? That is the reason sensible fans who know about football don't want him back its nothing to do with him coming out in a press conference and admitting we are not the same club, move on folks and stop living in the past with washed up had been's!

Calvin55. . sensible fans who know about football? Is that you then? Which table topping BB team did u play for then? We don't need washed up hasbeens? . do u mean players like Davie Weir who couldn't get a game for Everton? I think I will listen to people like Barry Ferguson before the likes of you if that's awright with u.

Maybe you should make up your own mind rather than relying on other people like Ferguson? As for the rat Naismith I’m glad he didn’t sign. It was bad enough he chose to desert the club but the press conference was a disgrace. There was no need to hold it and come out and say the club was dead. Can you imagine the reaction if Lennon or Lawwell had come out in a press conference and said what Naismith said?

ArthurD spot on mate! Sensible fans who know about football can make up their own minds without someone telling them what to think! 😂😂😂😂

Calvin if your a sensible fan who knows football you will know that Naismith said he would have played for us for nothing so to take him on a loan till end of season with no wages would be no loss

Broxi17 if you were sensible you would know that the "play for free" shoite was exactly that! Shoite!

A few points here. Firstly Broxi17 your a bit late to the party on the Naismith debate. With the deals we've done so far we should finish 2nd. Naismith wouldn't have changed that so let's see how he does at Hearts. If as most predict he is injured and/ or pish then we've dodged a bullet. If he proves otherwise and Norwich tear up his contract in the summer then this controversial debate may rage on.
Secondly Calvin55 it's clear the majority of those that don't want him back IS due to the press conference and will never forgive with some adding the caveat of his injury history. Also mate please stop suggesting anyone with a different opinion to you knows nothing about football. We are all football fans here who are entitled to their opinion. Unless you've worked in senior football I'm not sure you can claim to know more than anyone else here.
Lastly Broxi17 although we all know that's the great Bill Struth talking you should still use quotation marks as it's disrespectful not to.

So Calvin55 what your basically saying is I'm not allowed to believe he meant it when Naismith said he'd play for free for six months but your allowed to believe he meant it when he said the club died in 2012. Double standards mate!

Broxi. I’m one that would have happily had Naismith back but am not too disappointed that we didn’t. First reason being we got Cummings. Second reason being that Murty said we spoke to him and reading the subtext I’d say we chose not to pursue. Us not getting him as a conscious decision as opposed to us simply being beaten to him by Hearts sits well with me.

Naismith is old news people, move on, you only want him back until he proves ineffectual, then you’ll call for the gaffer to be sacked as if you had no opinion on the matter.

@dutch - we need players who are ready to hit the ground running. Not injury prone strikers. That's why I prefer Cummings over Naismith.
