I have a couple of theories on why the board are taking their time in naming the new manager.

1. May be they have liked what they have seen from Murty and want to give him more time to see how he copes against Aberdeen and Celtic, he seems to have the backing of the dressing room and may be with another few games under his belt he will actually want the job.

2. Is it a ploy to get Aberdeen to lower their demands for McInnes? McInnes will jump at the chance and Aberdeen know that, so by the media presenting all these names as people interested in the role then the Dons board may lower their compensation demands as they don't want to have a manager who wants to be elsewhere.

My preference is still Pardew / Murty but I also like the idea of giving Murty time to settle more into the role and having the desire to take the top job.

The board need to make the right appointment and also to be taken into consideration is the January transfer window with regards to finishing in the top two this season.

The board must get this right and they obviously don't want mcinnes or they would have made contact by now imo. see bcos all the media are saying gers should get mcinnes in. maybe that's a reason why the board won't go for him. ie they will do it there own way. another thing I was thinking we don't need a manager. we need a coach. or there's no point in having Marc Allan as dof so maybe keeping murty to see how he gets on over the next 5/ 6 games might not be a bad thing but this is only my opinion
