Find it strange that we have paid what 2.1 million for Pena and I think apart from Bates, was the only outfield player to not get a run out against Sheffield Wednesday. Be nice if Pedro came out and clarified the situation, heard rumours on here about weight being an issue, but anyone heard anything else?

It's more than strange and if we have paid that much money for him then surely he has to be the first name on the team sheet. You're right that we're owed an explanation from Pedro and if the rumours are right about being overweight then that's totally unacceptable. We can't cough up a fraction of this fee for Walker and yet we're okay to pay a Mexican club the asking price for a player we don't play.

What if, and I understand this sounds crazy, he's just getting settled and fit. I understand this isn't jucy gossip but please understand it's not PC's job to keep you constantly informed.

i personally think pedro is playing this one right wait till the player is 100 percent right to start a game he may need longer to settle in at the club

better to make sure he is fully fit and settled so he hits the ground running. if he comes in not firing on all cylinders the critics will be all over it. plus dorrans is there and jack consistently named as a pre season stand out. better to wait rather than shoe horn pena into a part of the team looking good!

He is the only player we have signed that literally does not speak a word of English, so it will take him longer than Herrera/ Alves et all to adjust to playing and communicating in our beloved country. The fact we are starting to win and gel without our currently most expensive player can only be a positive. I am looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team

We're running a football club here not a kindergarten. Will Neymar be given time to 'settle in' at PSG?

03 Aug 2017 08:45:58
The cultural difference between moving to France from Spain instead of Mexico to Scotland is massive. Also Neymar will be moving to a club with former team mates in Dani Alves and Silva. Excellent point from Teddy that its a positive the middle of the park looks solid and we still have our biggest Summer signing to call upon. Too rush him in if the time is not right is poor management in my eyes mate, every situation is different.

see all points here, especially the language being a barrier, and I suppose if he has the qualities that PC is so sure of then we will have nothing to worry about.

03 Aug 2017 14:51:01
Snell, your argument is farcical. He's either a footballer or he's not. Nothing to do with cultural differences mate. Can you play the game of football and are you worth 2.1 million quid? If so, play and if not, my argument that Walker is worth Hearts' asking price stands.

03 Aug 2017 15:47:55
would hardly call it farcical mate. Yes, he is a footballer, however point i am making is that you want to give him every chance off success and a new culture and environment plays a massive part in that. if a player isn't settled or happy in his environment he won't deliver his best results. Case in point Di Maria and Falcao, worldies in Spain, didn't settle in England and now back to their best in France. You can't expect every player to instantly fit with any league in the world. Not sure what you do for a living, but if its that easy hop off somewhere mad like China or South America. Let me know how you get on working straight in the door ;)

Snell, to quote Mark Allen, DOF, today " we need to be sure we are identifying players who are Rangers players and fit the profile of a Rangers player and who want to play for Rangers. " Enough said on the matter. Sounds like Jamie Walker to me.

03 Aug 2017 17:55:58
at what point did i say Pena wasnt any of those? or that Jamie Walker was or wasnt either? you missed my point entirely mate but no probs. if players don't have issues settling in new countries, might want to tell the EPL clubs that employ staff to make it easy as possible. they'll love you for saving a few million quid! let's agree to disagree and hopefully both cheer the lads to a strong start at the weekend!
