Anybody else slightly worried that this HMRC Tax Case outcome will result in the SFA being pressured into stripping titles?

I have seen their short and sweet statement, but if I'm honest it doesn't fill me with confidence, everybody and their granny wants Rangers to suffer and I cannot see them letting this slip.

Quick note on last night, I'm always far too positive for my own good when it comes to the team and I am genuinely lost for words with this one. I can't believe it but at the same time I can, the result last night just had Rangers written all over it. Onwards and upwards as it's the only way we can go from here surely? 😂.

I wonder how you all would feel if shoe was on the other foot and it was dermot Desmond in a witness box admitting they used Ebts to get in players they otherwise couldn't afford I always think when I see a contentious decision go get given against my club would I be screaming for the decision if the situation was reserved.

Yeah I feel the same mate. Can't help but think that they are going to strip the titles. Sick to the back teeth of hearing about all the crap - what I would give to just have it about football.

Quite ironic how the people asking for the titles to be stripped, are ex-players that have invested in film schemes dodging tax

Likewise sick of hearing about ebt's stripping titles and sporting integrity. Give them the sodding titles cups and medals and let them enjoy their so called glory. We will go on to win more so let's steal their thunder and put an end to it once and for all. But NEVER forget and one day they will come calling.

Sick of hearing rubbish about etb's, unfair advantage and title stripping by Celtic who themselves USED etb's. The only reason they didn't get dragged into court is that they made a deal with hmrc in 2008 to settle but it still doesn't change the FACT that they used that scheme. The also never informed the FA or SFA and the reason it wasn't followed up on is that they paid out AFTER the player had LEFT the club.? .
What club would pay a player AFTER he had left?, why?, I could only surmise that there would have to have been an agreement in place while the player was still at the club for this to happen therefore I can't see any difference.
Celtic's only problem seems to be that they didn't win anything while using etb's so it doesn't count for them but we did so take away the titles.
I would like to apologise upfront if anyone is offended by the above rant but I just feel Celtic the club (not necessarily all it's supporters) are extracting the urine.

Cajita the fact that celtic did use one ebt is correct however when their chairman the ex Bank of england guy found out he immediately cancelled it and settled all tax liability hence no further problems. that is when Rangers should have wisened up and maybe looked again at the financial advice they were given at the time and could have prevented all this litigation then. but Murray was so desperate to win the big euro cup at any cost he threw caution to the wind and ignored all the signs then. this could have been avoided if he had just paid the Ebt players through the club without trying to scalp the tax man. remember he himself received 6 million from an Ebt

JohnnyG, Celtic never cancelled the etb (they had already paid out on it), what they did was make a deal with hmrc to pay the tax on it. As for advice, when Rangers were using them it wasn't illegal (it was a retrospective law that was brought in afterwards) . The issue is that neither Rangers or Celtic informed their respective footballing authorities of the use of them. This is why both are the same in principle and therefore if one is seen as cheating then both are, you can't have the argument that one only cheated a little bit so doesn't count.

Dont you worry brother, they won't be stripping anything. The jungle jims have always been the same always cheated never defeated. If they pursue us further the will have to spill the beans on every bit of these deals they played a part in, let's not forget it was from 2001 to 2009 and they managed to win the league a couple of times so it wasnt that unfair was it.

06 Jul 2017 14:51:35
Titles and cups should be safe remember they wanted us to give up so many titles and cups and they would place us in the division below premier league we told them to get stuffed so they placed us in the lowest league they could we have already been punished they cannot have their cake and eat it tell lawell to get knotted.

Wrong as usual. You will note the actual tax pros/ tribunal agreed with rangers advice and Celtic were pulled up by homecoming and threatened with legal action which was to close to their own private bankruptcy. As per usual only part of the truth from the mob.

Aye cajita this is the way i understand it and it is for this reason that the football authorities cannot take any action against one club without implicating the other. They did not inform the SFA either of the side letters. Maybe the beggars should just suck it up now. They won't of course, but they should. Always cheated etc etc
