If Lafferty, Naismith and others what back at the club they supported but ditched for money then let them back but pay them 3 grand a week. I bet they would not be keen to come back to the club the loved.

These guys are professional footballers. The club went bust. Why should they stay and take a pay cut? Footballers are not supporters. They do what they do for a living. All that matters is what they do on the pitch. If a company you worked for were going bust you would find a new job. So what's the difference

And that's how u get players to play for your club make them feel unwanted where do you get your brains poundland

Difference is johnny Naismith and Whittaker had a press conference came out said club was dead and sevco rubbish . that's what a lot of rangers fans have a problem with. its up to Naismith to say something if he wants to come back

Don't agree with this nonsense about leaving the club. These players were in main part of their careers and shouldn't have been asked to goto the 3rd division. All if them gave give service to rangers as players and shouldn't be forgotten. I'd never have asked anyone to work under Charles green.

Are you seriously trying to compare a footballers job to jobs the the vast majority of people have? That's just utterly ridiculous and extremely naive. I will try and explain this as simply as I can. The players were asked to tupe their contracts over as is normal practice when this sort of thing happens. At no point were these players expected to play for the club or take a massive pay cut. They were all to be sold so the club could get much needed income which at the time could have been the difference between the club surviving or being extinct. They could have easily negotiated modest transfer fees to re-sign. The players would still have got their moves and the club would have got much needed cash. do you honestly think that clubs like Everton wouldn't have signed Naismith if they had to pay £500k? Instead these players chose to turn their backs on the fans and club and left for nothing.
In Naismiths case he couldn't even depart quietly he had to hold a press conference and declare Rangers dead. That's completely unforgivable especially when you also consider that the club helped him through 2 major injuries.

Well said Brian g people have short memory's not got a problem with them leaving but the way Naismith and Whittaker done it was terrible. saying that if any signed think they would need come out and say something apology badly advised etc and we probally could move on with most fans

Exactly my point mate no Rangers fan would have begrudged those players moving on to further their careers as long as the club got something for them. It was bad enough when players like McGregor and Lafferty turned their back on the club and left but what Naismith did was unforgivable. The press conference was unbelievably stupid and showed a lack of respect for the club and fans. Don't even think Lennon ever came out with that line about the club being dead

@sm8282 I would suggest the answer to your question is in his name
