I think every player under the new manager should be given a second chance from our fans. Big keirnan included. He was a bit of a fall guy for a previous tactic that left our centre halfs largely exposed. Andy Halliday also, who was played out of position. Pedro has spoken about finding a set up to suit the players we have and that is the sign of a good coach. Warburton (Who I did like) bought players to suit his tactic which in hindsight should have shown an inability to change. 🔴⚪🔵.

That might be a step too far for some of the naysayers on here!

We have a good squad that needs some reinforcements and a style of play that suits the guys on the park as opposed to the drawing board

17 Mar 2017 23:13:49
The players you mention regularly give the ball away and usually under no pressure. That's nothing to do with tactics, being exposed or being played out of position. There is a reason why Kiernan hasn't spent too long at many clubs and as long as players like him are being picked you can forget about getting within 20 points of Celtic

17 Mar 2017 23:21:57
Wouldn't havery halliday anywhere near the side.

17 Mar 2017 23:36:50
Sorry Bengy but Brenda at Celtic disproves your theory. most of their players were shocking last season under Ronnie. this season with a couple of additions they have been transformed.

Are you suggesting that we cannot replicate that with better coaching and tactics?

18 Mar 2017 07:11:55
BR65

How do you work that out? Yeah they were that bad they still won the league comfortably. If you think Kiernan will be transformed by the new manager then your delusional and are obviously drinking the same stuff Warburton did

18 Mar 2017 07:14:25
BR65

No you can't replicate that with players like Kiernan and Halliday these guys are simply not good enough and the new manager isn't a magician.

18 Mar 2017 07:31:46
BR65 is correct and to say Celtic won the league comfortably is an exageration to say the least. Are you seriously telling me the proper coaching and tactics has nothing to do with individual player performances? Then sorry but you have a poor understanding of the game. Look at Charlie Adam for example. Played out of position in a style the never suited him and was sold for buttons, with just about every single Rangers fan sayin he was rubbish and not fit to wear our shirt. The rest is history. 🔴⚪🔵

Big-ped

I would say winning the league by 15 points is comfortable and if you think it's tight then it's obvious you don't understand much. To compare Halliday to Adam is laughable. Adam performed for Rangers in the champions league and played some really good games against some top quality sides. Maybe you should also read my post again and tell me where I said proper coaching and tactics can't improve a players performance? I am saying neither Kiernan or Halliday are good enough and no matter who the coach is they will never be the required standard we need. I would have thought that was pretty simple to understand even for you

18 Mar 2017 08:06:10
There's no need to get personal. It took Celtic to the last 10 games or so to clinch the league and Aberdeen absolutley imploded. Even our team with Keirnan and Halliday and any other of our players you don't like, slaughtered them in that semi. Now they bring in a better manager with the ability to change the game tacticly and 2 new players and they pump us 5-1. I am not saying Halliday or the rest are great players but they must be given a chance under a new manager. Guys like you at the start of the season had us going for 55, now we are going for 11 new players! 🔴⚪🔵

18 Mar 2017 08:19:55
I know this is irrelavent now but if we won every game from now till the end of the season we would only be about 9 points off their total finnish last season. My point is its not all doom and gloom. Hopefully Pedro can get the best out of our players and make a few good signings. It's not a big a gap as some might have us believe 🔴⚪🔵

Big_ped

Can you show me a post from me saying that we would be going for 55 at the start of the season? Think you'll find I was never a Warburton fan and have been consistent about this since last season. I took a lot abuse for this from a lot of fellow posters but I ended up being proved right.

Big_ped

It took Celtic to the last 10 games to clinch the league. Your quote! 10 games that's winning the league comfortably. If it was 2 or 3 games it's tight but 10! If you don't think 33 points is a big gap then heaven help us. Also do you really think we slaughtered them in the semi? Winning on penalties when Roberts missed an open goal and Griffiths hit the woodwork twice.

18 Mar 2017 09:07:20
Considering where we have come from, yourself and many others are/ were expecting to much. I would bet my scarf you are a Ally hater and where is kings promised millions shouter. I stand by my original post and its fair comment. Now if you don't agree with it I don't care. It's all about opinions. I am entitled to mine and you yours. Now I am sorry but I have no time for people who won't stand behind our team. A new manager hopefully a better time. Get on the bus or get off at the next stop mate
🔴⚪🔵

18 Mar 2017 10:22:50
Well said Big Ped! Too many supporters on here ready to slaughter our team and be proved right when we fail.

Sad trait, better to be positive and deal with disappointment when it arrives that to be constantly predicting it.

"Sad trait, better to be positive and deal with disappointment when it arrives that to be constantly predicting it. "
BR65

So it was better to support Murray, Whyte, Green and co while they were in charge rather than point out their faults?

18 Mar 2017 15:14:24
The difference is this BR, Celtics under performing players last season were Internationalists who have proved themselves this season. Whereas you have a team of journeymen from Englands lower leagues who won't get any better.

18 Mar 2017 16:54:50
Kiernan is poor and just isn't good enough. Halliday has been poor this season and has no confidence and although a new manager may give him some confidence I am skeptical about if he is good enough too. Of course with better coaching and tactics players can improve I don't see anyone on here saying to the contrary however if players just aren't good enough then they aren't good enough no matter who the coach is

18 Mar 2017 17:29:33
I'm with you Big_ped! I know exactly what you're meaning and what you're getting at mate! It isn't all doom and gloom and that's coming from myself, who goes everywhere supporting glasgow rangers, just like i have done for nigh on 43 years now! I've put plenty of dough into the club i love! Shareholder, season ticket holder, boy and man!

18 Mar 2017 17:46:49
@Big_Ped

Fair play on your optimism mate. last week I thought man for man Rangers were outstanding and deserved the points. new manager. a performance like that against us. every right to be optimistic and yeah why can't Pedro turn the fortunes of players like Kiernan around!
