ED, as we're all aware now, our new manager pedro caixinha has stated he wants to appoint what he calls, a local coach, to help him bed in at rangers and the culture in this country! Its a very good idea and IMO it was the major reason PLG failed as rangers manager, by his refusal to appoint someone of a rangers understanding! So ED, could you please set up a poll on here for our fans to vote, on who they would like to assist pedro? Some of the names being banded about are, barry ferguson, graeme murty, alex rae, lee mcculloch, neil mccann, steven pressley etc!

maybe it's just me but what extensive coaching/ managing experience does barry ferguson or lee mculloch have?

being an ex player/ bluenose / rangers man won't do pedro much good when he wants to know in depth analysis on the systems hearts play or the formations dundee are likely to set up with at home - from
a coaching perspective wee barry wouldn't have a clue - we need to get over this passionate ex player rangers die hard being a good coach as it's just nonsense - i give you john greig

Id go for an experienced man like peter houston - just my opinion

I can't believe people are voting for Ferguson.

14 Mar 2017 10:49:51
Terry Butcher is the man

14 Mar 2017 11:10:48
Murty for me

14 Mar 2017 11:33:27
Murty for me also.

having read this site quite often, some of the guys who post here could do the job nae bother, or so they would like to think

14 Mar 2017 12:48:12
Murty's back to his original role with U20's, and I believe it's not an assistant manager position it's a "club assistant" I think Pedro called it. Don't think we need someone with great experience because it's not a huge role, just need someone who knows Rangers, knows the league, and will bridge a gap between the current staff and Rangers' culture and history.

Kenny Miller for me and he could still play next season also.

15 Mar 2017 09:51:52
Ted jons, big Terry would be a great shout, so would Stuart McCall (but I think he might be managing Bradford) . Both have managed in this league fairly recently. I would also be happy with Alex Rae.

15 Mar 2017 13:45:12
Alex Rae ticks every box for me

15 Mar 2017 23:49:53
Got to be Kenny Miller

people are asking what extensive experience has barry got . let's be clear what pedro is looking for ; he is looking for sum1 with knowladge of the game in scotland with rangers a heart to help him get used to the game up here and to get his points and stratagy across to the team.

no one is looking for barry to be the next manager or head coach but an assistant and as far as i can tell that's where most people start our their managerial careers

15 Mar 2017 23:59:24
Terry Butcher can't even tell Chris Mutton to be quiet when talking rubbish. I don't want him near our team.

15 Mar 2017 23:04:32
Barry Ferguson has managed blackpool and clyde, played at the top, knows the league and the club and would be an asset.

My choice would be lee mcculloch.

16 Mar 2017 14:03:15
i like the idea of miller as well but also like the idea or ferguson although with miller still wanting to play he would probably want a club assistant / player role aqnd could be a great supersub next year or lennon will get him for his boyhood team hibs
