I don't go into sports direct or have bought the new Rangers shirt. I simply want your opinion here. Would Ashleys investment be shuch a bad idea? He apparently has been trying to sell Newcastle for some time now, if sold this would allow him to take control of Rangers. He sees Rangers a better chance going into Europe. Yes he is a business man but he would invest heavily. Maybe it's not such a bad idea being run by a billionaire instead of a career criminal. What's your thoughts chaps?

I agree BR65, ashley is part of the problem with our club just now. I don't buy my wee boy or my football tops anymore or any other merchandise from the ranger official shop as I don't think rangers are getting a fair share of the profits.
Maybe his interest will spark interest from other potential buyers. I'm not a fan of Dave king and his crowd. He just seems to drag our club from court case to court case. I'm fed up with it all.
In saying that though he is still better than Ashley as the club's owner.

What we need to remember about ashley is he was offered this current merchandise deal and as a buisiness man would have been daft to turn it down at the time ovbiusly it ain't worked out great for him but if he came out cancelled that contract to show he was serious about doing what is best for the club and was going to invest am afraid it might be too good for rangers to turn down a wouldn't mind if he invested but over time took his money back herw and there that's what most of them do when they run a club no one can just waste money and never see a return billionaire or not

No one really trusts Ashley because of the manner in which he has acted, especially with the Merchandise deal and for that reason alone there is little chance of him being accepted by the Rangers support. That does not mean that King is the right guy to be Chairman. On the contrary, he is full of hot air and little else. What need is investment, not an absentee landlord! the one thing that Ashley has reputedly said that I do agree with is that we need serious investment.

Everyone can see that we need serious investment but I do not believe for 1 minute that Cashley cares anything about Rangers,
our current sad state is due in part to Cashley and his cronies running our club into the ground, if the Rat cared anything about Rangers why does he not renegotiate the merchandise contract so that the club and SD make money, but he is just about control, money is not any part of his deals with RANGERS now, he only wants to be seen to beat KING and be the FAT CONTROLLER again, I do not believe CASHLEY should have any sympathy from ANY TRUE RANGERS supporters and he should be vilified as often as possible .

All rich people who own football clubs do not care about them. Face the fact only people who care are supporters that is the way it is. Yes ashley treats people like shit. Football teams are not owned by people who care about clubs. Mike Ashley will make money out of rangers and rangers would compete as a team with serious investment. If ashley put money in and we get a decent calibre of player and won the league next year I'd love to see everyone change their thoughts.

Ashley's main gripe is with King, not with Rangers and King, if we are honest, has done nothing but antagonise Ashley since he manipulated control.
There will be few that want Ashley back but King is not the answer. He is full of Bullshit and little else and he doesn't even turn up regularly at games.
With the current Political Regime grabbing everything that the can from the British and European residents King might be better advised to shift his money, if he has any, out of that country pretty damn quick. That however has as little to do with Rangers as Ashley's Zero hours contract as referred to above.

Why would Ashley be a disaster? don't go on about the merchandising deal. He bought that deal. Yes Green lined his own pockets but Ashley is entitled to the deal. So now he comes back and invests and moves Rangers forward. Where is the downside. King has lied and lied. Green ripped the club off. Whyte will probably do time if found guilty so how bad can Ashley be? The really guilty are still around.

There is a difference between being an Ashley fan and not liking or wanting King. personally I don't like either of them. I do not like Ashley's Business practices and I wouldn't particularly trust him to fund Rangers to get us back where we should be however I don't believe a word that comes out of King's mouth and I am totally fed up with the vendetta that is going on between the pair of them and is certainly not doing the club any good.
The day I see £30m, or anything like it spent on players, with the money put into the club by King is the day he might have some credibility but I am not expecting to see it any time soon if at all!
