No doubting the quality of these loan players but doesn't say much for the rest of squad if we have to rely on these loan players mackay and miller this is supposed to be warburtons team yet we are resorting to 6 months loans to secure us second in the league just shows how many poor players he has brought to the club at the end of season we will be back to square one and have to really on same players again good result but we need to win a few games in a row.

His primary objective was to get us in the Premier League. He brought in players to do that but was well aware that he would need to upgrade the quality for an assault on the top league. It did't work out as planned with Rossiter, Barton and Krancjar and we saw Windass and Crooks also injured so he had no option but to rely on the previous crop of players.

I have to believe that with the appropriate level of investment and some of the promised £30 from King that he would have preferred to purchase players like Hyndman rather than take them on loan but when you are shopping in the bargain basement then you have to rely on what you can get!

We saw yesterday the difference that quality makes and it is pretty obvious that we are still three or four quality players short!

Not every loan player goes back to their parent club.

29 Jan 2017 16:43:07
One step at a time.

We have already seen some of the £30m invested in the club. how do you think the bills are being paid at the moment given the huge annual losses?

Of course quality counts but quality costs good money. Also, how do we attract the top talent to play Sunday league football compared with the EPL. The standard of our game in Scotland has plummeted in recent years mainly due to the poor financial situation for all but one club.

BR65 Wit money have they invested? If I'm correct the club has raked in over18mil in season ticket sales were is that money? Al king and the board are doing is providing loans which are to be paid back in the form of shares, we're are the fans shares? Putting there hard earned money into the club, if the board leaned us money the benefit from it don't forget that. At the end of the day this manager has no clue and it has not been good enough from Mr King and Co. This has been a wasted year. Simples.

Bluenose84,

Here is the actual definition of the word investment: an act of devoting time, effort, or energy to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result.

Wasted year? Sitting second in our first season back up, the current team can't realistically be doing better than they are.

The club costs a lot to run and maintain so that takes a big chunk of season ticket money.

There is no spare cash to make big signings, regardless of what amount was suggested would be put in by King that is the simple fact.

If you don't see how investment has been made then you must not have noticed the lights are still on at Ibrox.

29 Jan 2017 18:09:37
Nail on the head with your first point Bluenose84.

Dave King promised that in our first season back in the top flight that he would 'overinvest' by trebling wages at Ibrox or more if Celtic increased their spending.

Is there a single bear out there naive enough to think he has kept to that promise?

29 Jan 2017 18:23:08
Bluenose £18 mill in season ticket sales. The cost to run the club is around £30 mill a year so you work out where the money has gone. If king and co don't lend money to the club then it goes out of business. Either rhat or charge another £300 per season ticket and £60 a game. Then see how many buy a season ticket. The fans pay their money to be entertained not to be paid back in shares. If you don't like it don't buy a ticket.

I think you can give kenny miller the rangers player of the year just now! Its testament to how kenny looks after himself, in the twilight of his career! What a role model he is for our young players at ibrox! A total thoroughbred and hurry up board of directors and offer kenny miller the one year contract he so rightfully deserves! I still say he's a future rangers manager in the waiting, a few years down the line!

King was specific in what he would be investing in and it was playing staff. I do not doubt for a moment that the 'Three Bears' and the guys from the Far East have invested by way of soft loans but I am struggling to see what monies King, specifically has invested. He was full of BS again earlier in the season when yet again he said that investment would be available in January which, with two days to go until the window closes we have so far brought in two loanees and offset part of that by putting Crooks out on loan.

King will no doubt be full of sound bites later in the season when it is time for season ticket renewal! He sounds more and more like David Murray every day but at least with Murray he was resident in the UK and was not an absentee landlord!

Until such time as we see the currently theoretical investment monies for players, specifically from King I will remain sceptical about his ability as well as his intentions to make serious investment in the Club.

Top post Rafbob, and looks like we could go on a decent cup run. Also with 48 hrs remaining of the transfer window think we may still be in for a surprise outfield acquisition.

29 Jan 2017 20:15:14
the fans have well and trully backed the board and the club and we always will but serious questions have got to be asked of david king why promise so much and fail to stick to these promises would like to see that question asked of king and answerd by him truthfully as for warburton the sums of money he has had to buy players devoplment fee wages ect only 2 of his players this year is gaurnteed a game and that's garner and hill i personally would not give warburton big sums of money to spend and now loooks like windass is going be shoved out the team to make way for 6 month loan players with no sell on value for our team
I would much rather play burt windass and gilmour in those postions we are back to short term fixes again with no plan in place

29 Jan 2017 21:00:45
JohnnyMac 30 milion to run us each season is absolute nonsense. Our wage bill is around 7-8 million. Maybe 2 mil a season to pay other staff and up keep ibrox and the traing grounds. That leaves at least 8 mil? In my opinion the fans have kept Rangers afloat not the board. We deserve better and more transparency about the boards plan for the future. DK no where to be seen.

29 Jan 2017 21:36:14
Have to agree with bluenose about transparency, before this board there was to much coming from meetings and now we rarely hear anything.

29 Jan 2017 22:01:45
Bluenose84 it's not really difficult to check the facts- google our accounts to see what the overhead before player investment is.

Why do you think we continue to post losses and not profits?

30 Jan 2017 07:10:19
Think most of the comments on here could be wiped if people realised we can't spend or our deficit will go over Uefa regulation and won't be able to play in Europe. It's only common sense from the board. This is what happens when you read the DR. Keith Jackson's tales of doom.

30 Jan 2017 08:25:58
The fans have done their part by getting season tickets. The board have done their part with the soft loans but they can only go so far we have no income via the strip or merchant so looks like we just have to bide our time till the fat scumbag is gone.

30 Jan 2017 11:55:59
TOMUS is right when he says M. W would probably like to buy the likes of Hyndman etc, but you can't shop at Harrods with and expect Woolies prices
