Can I ask a serious question, who wants warburton sacked. who would they replace him with, considering there's still no money to spend.
I think warburton will make rangers great again but it will only happen when we get rid of Ashley and co, but unfortunately he might not be here when we finally do get rid of Ashley's mob.

Agree6 Disagree3

the man is doing wonders for the money he has at his disposal. Reconstructed our youth, scouting and first team, what more do people want? We aren't the quite the same old Rangers who can spend on players. We are at a massive loss per year and yet we are still on target to finish with a European spot. not bad at all.

duke st i want warburton to suceed badly but the man keeps on shooting himself in the foot his poor signing policy and his stubborness to change formation and poor choice of starting players and not blooding any youth but let's all be realistic here the guys got a couple of years left on his contract and we can't afford to get rid so i just hope he comes good

17 Jan 2017 10:56:56
Guys I would love MW to succeed at rangers but his stubbornness not to change formation and style will be his downfall. You also now come 60 minutes you know what subs are coming on long before it happens.

The reason I am still not sticking by him is the lack of options he creates in the team. One formation, no matter if we are losing or winning. Garner is crying out for a strike partner but he will never get one. The barton episode. The purchase of players well past there best. Defending players even though its obvious they can't cut it, and again the formation. A good manager would find the best way to play his players, not force them into a formation that doesn't work for the quality you have.
I am not saying however it won't come good in the end, If he had our teams of old, it would be amazing to watch, but he doesn't and never will.

17 Jan 2017 13:06:05
warburton has got to find a formation and style of play that suits the players and leauge not what suits himself even the best managers in the world have to adapt there formations and style of play to suit the leauge and oponents they are up against on a game to game basis like fintytint said above garner needs a strike partner we can not realy on miller for ever and for me waghorn has had enough chances i would personaly
like to see a parternship of garner and doodoo

Can you actually produce proof of these wonders you talk about?

He has been in charge 18 months with the second biggest budget yet we are no better than Aberdeen or Hearts both who have went backwards from last season.

You mention the scouting however how many of the players that have been signed have actually been successful?

The youth team aren't doing very well in the u20s league and even if there is improvement it will take around 5 years to say if he was successful

The team doesn't score enough, concedes too many and he regularly plays players who can't do the basics

We have played 28 games and only scored 28 goals while conceding 21. No Rangers player is in the top 10 league scorers. When was the last time we had statistics like that?

He has spent £1.8m on a non scoring striker, £500k on a winger he refuses to play and still persists with players like Kiernan and Tavernier who can't defend. Halliday and Holt have done very little in midfield but seem to be automatic picks. Sorry but if you think that's working wonders then heaven help us

17 Jan 2017 14:53:10
The simple fact we have no money and are picking up free agents or players worth 65k I think we are doing pretty well Stewie. Again we are picking up players for 65k and are sat second, that to me is good scouting. yeah sure not every transfer has been successful, did you expect 9/ 10 to be perfect?

U20's are made up of younger lads as most of our under 20's are on loan or have been let go.

At a team like Rangers you will have to pay big wages, It doesn't matter who you are going for you are Rangers, big name, big club, unfortunately big wages.

Personally I would rather we stuck with him for another season to see what he is capable of doing with players like Rossiter for, (please God) . I don't like the fact that he appears to have favourites that are undroppable but sadly every manager appears to have these and I am frustrated that after 18 months we do not have a fit defensive / holding midfield player on our books but equally I acknowledge that he has not had an abundance of funds to spend and I remain unconvinced that Barton was his signing!

I would ask one serious question, if he was to go, who would we bring in. They would have to be a quality manager with a serious CV so that rules out all of the managers in Scotland, (since we are not going to get Brendan Rodgers)! So who would we get. Perhaps a top manager from the EPL, pray tell me who, I don't see us being able to afford Mourinho or the current Liverpool or Everton Manager, and any big name will expect a transfer budget to sign his own players and let's be honest, if you were manager of Rangers how many of the current squad would you want to keep!

How then did the manager spend over £3m on players since last January if we have no money

Why did he bring in players like Barton and Kranjcar on big wages if we have no money?

Would you concede he has had a far bigger budget than Aberdeen and Hearts yet we aren't much better either?

You still failed to answer the points I raised about the lack of goal threat, lack of creativity and inability to defend?

Or do you think Warburton has done a good job in those areas? Are you not concerned that we don't have a striker who will score 20 goals while teams like Motherwell, Ross County and Hearts have. Callum Patterson has scored more league goals than any of our strikers

17 Jan 2017 15:27:32
We are struggling for second place at the moment I think its a risk for the manager to blood youngsters into the team at the moment. If he does and it works he gets all the praise in the world. If it doesn't work and we loose second its the youngsters fault, they get boo'd as they are not performing well enough. He has to protect them and think of their best interests too. and its not as if we have been 3-0 up at half time to bring any on either.

17 Jan 2017 16:42:10
I would accept his resignation tomorrow and the resignation of the board. We need innovative thinking and a board with ideas in how to make our club reborn.

Yes there are issues, however for me Ashley is not holding us back as much as is made out ( my opinion, I have no facts obviously ) .

I would have kept McCall for the first season or two in the PL, sorted out the scouting then taken stock of our situation. We will always be mediocre with our current approach.

Having said all that I hope Warburton secures second and convincingly. If not he must go.

17 Jan 2017 18:15:46
Camoo, I don't think anybody's suggesting we flood the team with untried kids, but surely it would benefit the team if, for instance, Burt was given a couple of full games or even introduced more often as a substitute instead of the tried and failed brigade the manager seems to favour?

17 Jan 2017 14:33:27
Duke. st loyal, your a man after my own heart! Totally in agreement with you here mate!

17 Jan 2017 18:36:29
Wee-ecky, Spot on mate it's hard to see how Burt could be worse than Holt and even at his age surely he is worth a few more substitute appearances.

17 Jan 2017 15:20:15
Queens 11, he's sticking with his formation rigidly, and i applaud him for it as he totally believes in his philosophy! Sure its not functioning just now the way it should be, but over time and by getting better players in to carry out his style of football, it will imo come to fruition! Not every transfer works in football and as sir alex ferguson once said if you can get over half your signings right you are doing well! Warbs has also been very unlucky with injuries and the joey barton fiasco! A little patience my friend!

17 Jan 2017 17:39:07
Can't agree more stewie25, very well said. However I hope warbs does succeed. I hope he realises sooner than later that certain players and tactics just won't do. The games at home v hearts and aberdeen were much more like it, then it starts to go wrong again. I know I have said this until am blue in the face. Hodson in these games, 1 goal 1 man of the match. Then he gets dropped. Wtf!

17 Jan 2017 17:26:20
TOMUSA, that's the thing mate, with next to no money to spend you ain't going to get a big name manager with pedigree! Anyway i'm right behind mark warburton and given time i think our full playing side, all the way through, will be rebuilt to our satisfaction! His philosophy is good and he'll eventually get the correct players to play his, pleasing on the eye, attacking brand of football. Warbs IMO is exactly what we need in a manager just now!

Supercoop

Have you ever visited the planet earth?

18 Jan 2017 23:57:57
stewie over 3 million in 18 months and u think that's us spending big what did u expect for 3 million especially when some of them have not worked out which happens under every manager everywhere.

u say 3 million but 1.8 of that was on one player who hasn't done too well in my opinion. but buying players at 1.8 from down south s pointless as anyone with a real bit of talent is worth ten million or more its just the money they have down there.

unfortunitly we can't afford to keep up with celtic and i'd say after the first ten games we have been getting better.

warbs deserves to see out his contract and he should have the full support of the fans as all this negativity and shouts for the manager to be sacked do nothing other than harm the players confidence in the man and i'd say all the negative nelly's out there are doing more harm to our club than good
