Just been watching videos of us back in the day, I'm too young to remember the most of the greats. It saddens me to see the quality we have on show now.

Don't despair Matthew. We will get back there. 50,000 fans will demand it.

In feel sorry for the younger fans, I been fortunate to have seen some of the best players that have played for Rangers. I dread it in a few years when some of the players over the last four years will be inducted into our hall of fame, especially when I think of past players that haven't roll on the good times and decent players again cause we have a few the now that shouldn't be playing or wearing the blue jersey for Rangers!

Barber 1 I think a lot of our fans can't grasp just how far we have fell 50,000 fans at home games doesn't even pay our bills we run at a loss every week the board have put in over 20 million just to get us to where we are now until we can get rid of Ashley I'm afraid nothing will change and that contract has seven years to run so fans can demand all they wish but we are where we are.

The point is inheritance. that's why Davie Weir should more to the fore And Miller and why we need our own players coming from academy. Also so many feeder opportunities from USA Ireland etc.

Mathew 94 we will get there, I remember the early 80's .3000 of a crowd at home and a good result was a draw, it all changed and it will again. This time through having a better economic plan and not through overdrafts, although great times and players, It in the end worked against us. Keep the faith!

It was painful for me as a lad too as when I started going regularly to Ibrox Celtic were dominant and on their way to 9 in a row.

We did have some fantastic players back then like John Grieg, Sandy Jardine and my favourite Willie Henderson and were capable of winning in Europe but it still hurt.

Saying that when we did stop them getting 10 in 1975, which they all shouted and sang about, well that was a sweet feeling and I know it's going to feel just as good when we do it again.

It is not just Rangers that are suffering from a lack of quality. Scottish Football is suffering in general because the quality, quite simply is not there anymore. Where I do sympathise with our younger fans is that they are missing out in seeing quality English and overseas players in our ranks because the Gascoigne's, the Albertz', The DeBoers' etc., are still there.

Just look at the players that Scotland produced in my youth, Law, Baxter, John Whyte, Ian McMillan, Davey Wilson, Willie Henderson, Davey Cooper, and that was just at Rangers. You had Miller and Macleish at Aberdeen, then you had guys like Gough and I dare say that the lot in the East End had some quality players through the years as well, with Jimmy Johnstone, Bertie Auld and Billy McNeill, immediately springing to mind. Scotland, these days, struggles to find eleven players of any quality, to play for their International Team
