who rates ruben micael to be high class player if he signs.

Agree2 Disagree4

21 Dec 2016 08:37:50
Definitely has class but i'm always wary of these guys that go to play in likes of far east whilst still in there prime!

21 Dec 2016 10:42:50
all about the money for these guys I think.

what about jota will he be a good replacement for barton?

21 Dec 2016 11:17:32
Jota seems to be a wide midfielder rather than a CM. He played a couple of games as an attacking midfielder but looks like a player who likes to cut in from the right hand side.

21 Dec 2016 11:58:31
Jota, yet another player that Warburton has worked with before and has lost his way. He's hardly played during his loan spell in Spain- and he hasn't exactly been on loan at one of Spain's top clubs.

He may well be a decent player, but when will MW show a bit of imagination and ability to grow as a manager?

To catch Celtic, we need to sign higher calibre players on permanent deals. At some point the manager needs to find some, not lost souls from his past.

where is the money coming from luigi for these players are the best we can attract and the best we can afford and hopefully we get a bit licky with one or two of them.

and manager all over steal their best players that they had in previous teams top class managers do it so no lack of imagination and no lack of ambition for me he is always tyrying to better our squad .

anyone can c he is doing a good job and as good as anyone else could given our financial state.

Got to love the negativity Luigi.

The lad is a much better player than Forrester and O'Halloran so immediately he would increase the quality of the squad. I get your point about looking at different options other than ex Brentford/ Watford players but I think for this lad we make an exception.

21 Dec 2016 15:00:05
Completely different player from forester and ohalloran.

21 Dec 2016 16:37:09
My mistake, I thought he was an attacking midfielder/ winger.

21 Dec 2016 18:24:35
He is an attacking midfielder/ winger. Maybe Cee means that he's different by the fact that he can put the ball in the net.

21 Dec 2016 22:57:53
He's not a winger, it would be like playing kranjcar out their.

22 Dec 2016 10:24:42
so who is right guys. does he play out on the right or through the middle.

{Ed001's Note - there are a few Jotas. The Jota who played for Brentford, and is now at SD Eibar on loan usually plays on the right, but can play left or central. Eibar have mainly used him as a central attacking mid but, in his time under Warburton, he was almost entirely on the right wing.}

22 Dec 2016 17:46:29
I was right as always ;)

22 Dec 2016 19:20:43
With imagination and scouting of lower leagues across Europe (not just England, a market we can't afford, do poor people shop at waitrose? ) there are plenty of bargains to be had.

If we only shop in English market then we can only afford third or even forth rate players.

I'm sure some will disagree, but let's see the logic behind that argument.

Hustria, I think it's MW that's being negative with his narrow unambitious recruitment.

Where is the long term plan, where is the team building? Who gave we got on our books that's capable of moving the team forward?

Our whole squad is full of average and decent players. To catch Celtic we need two or three quality players.

22 Dec 2016 20:41:00
goo.gl/hKsPlV

Hovering over the positions it tells you how many times he played in each one. In case you can't be bothered, he played RW 31 times LW 9 times AM 2 times and didn't play a single game in CM.

Looks like a winger to me.

23 Dec 2016 08:08:28
Negative luigi, while I understand your concern about"narrow unambitious recruitment" I have to ask where you think we can realistically get those"two or three quality players"from given quality does not come cheap? Also your points about building a team and taking us forward-I know it hasn't worked out too well so far but surely that's what having young players like Rossi ter, Windass, Dodoo and hopefully Crooks are all about. We've also got a youngster called McKay who looks like he's hitting form again. No we probably won't get that close to Celtic this season but couldn't a couple of well chosen, tried and trusted (ie by MW) signings bring us enough so that a good solid 2nd and a Scottish Cup are strong realistic aims? As for next season that's another matter.
