Told you months ago on this page that Halliday was the trouble maker not barton and was shot down, threatening to leave if he didn't get his own way etc, not looking for argy bargy but what do you see in him?, average player at best that's been dining out on a semi performance for over a year.

Bhoywonder - What makes you think that Andy Halliday was the source of all the heated words, or in fact if he was involved at all?
You have clearly formed an opinion on someone based on nothing (unless you would care to enlighten us? ) .
I don't think any of us are claiming he is a world beater but at least he has a passion for the club unlike some others.
Claiming Barton was not the troublemaker is naive at best. In the actual event both parties got overheated but when the boss intervened Halliday was smart enough to shut up and show respect, Barton didn't - simple!

Blue your right about the last part, but after the incident in question it was halliday and wallace that started the him or us fiasco, can tell you for a fact that after the incident a lot of players actually backed barton, and are now looking to leave, mate you could have 11 players on the pitch that have a passion for your club but if your average it don't matter.

Sorry to butt in, Bhoywonder but how do you know, "for a fact" that "it was Halli day and Wallace that started the him or us fiasco" or even such a scenario even took place. It was in the media and talked about on this site but that doesn't mean it actually happened. As for me about the only good thing that's happened for us so far this season is getting rid of Barton without it costing us an absolute fortune. As for your comment about average players much as it pains me to agree with any Celtic fan who posts on this site I'd say none of our players are showing otherwise at the moment.

he doesn't know for a fact he's making it up completely. joey barton was not sacked for the bust up with Andy halliday it was just 1 of the number of problems caused by joey barton.

Bhoywonder I'm not saying you are completely wrong nor am I saying Halliday is the next messiah.
A lot of hearsay has affected the story here. I don't really buy the "him or us" story personally but I may be wrong.
I do know for a fact that the reason for Barton's departure is primarily nothing to do with other players and everything to do with his refusal to see his own error in disrespecting senior staff along with other issues.
You are right in saying it is irrelevant if a player supports the club if he is average but in clubs like ours you need a bit of both these days. Some quality players and some with a bit of bite and passion for the club. Halliday could flourish with a bit more quality around him is all.

The day MW lost the dressing room was that incident Bluegenius, what shouldve been a clear the air chat escalated because barton told some home truths (himself included), and halliday threw his toys along with wallace, then your gaffer been told to pick a side ( when he shouldve stayed out of it or fined them), sides with halliday which alienates seasoned pros and friends of barton. Like i said believe what you will, I've never been one to come on here wi the line dangling, just passing on info.
